I just wanted to say thank you, I just finished my Espar install a few days ago and this was playing in the background that whole day! Wouldn't have been able to do it as quickly or as confidently without this video, thanks man.

If I was the company president of Espar heater I would send a professional camera crew out with a new van to make a new video of you installing a Espar heater. They should pay u!. U do a awesome job of explaining. Love it. After seeing u install heater I believe I can install one on my van. I was afraid before . Thanks.
Over all a good job... two small items, 1. The more loops in the hot air tube, the more volume and intensity of air you loose. 2. The more important issue, the location of the exhaust tube is just below the passenger side sliding door. The exhaust tube ejects some a smell, but more problematic, carbon dioxide, the latter a orderless poison gas. Some exhaust may come thru your door seal, or when door is open, directly into living space. One of the better video's I have seen.
Thanks for posting. It helped me out a lot today. I appreciate the details. I’m still trying to decide on which side to run the exhaust. Leaning towards the drivers side. Can’t wait to see your van tour. Take Care

Thanks for posting such an in-depth and detailed video! My wife and I live in Chico, CA and are in the process of building out a new Ford Transit we bought 2 months ago. You’ve been a real help with install ideas and the whole process in general. Can’t wait to get our build at least part way finished so we can start taking her on epic mountain bike and snowboard trips! 🤘🏻
Hey Mike, I also have a Transit too, I'm getting ready to start my Espar install, I've got the adapter for the auxiliary fuel port. Any advise you can give me about dripping the gas tank and connecting the adapter to the tank? Also, why not just run one size fuel line from the tank to the pump? It seems you go from a big hose to a small hose back to a big hose? Am I missing something? Thanks for your help and great video 7!
Nicely done! The only suggestion for next time is to ensure your exhaust doesn't come out near a door. Simply so when the door is open, and your heater is on you won't get fumes inside.
@@PureGlide There are the other TWO front doors if you're that concerned. A few seconds of possible contamination doesn't seem like an issue though. Plus, the exhaust pipes are designed for a certain length and this design and placement necessitates its location. Not much to be done.

Great job on the install! Next time try using a stepper bit like a Hilti, Greenlee, or Klein bit. Drills through metal way easier than a holesaw bit. Ive seen a lot of videos and people use either a spade bit or holesaw bit. Stepper bits make life easy drilling through metal.
This was great. I've been researching this add on for some time now and don't feel at all afraid to do it after watching your vid and one other. Thanks!
Great video and I love these heaters. But an FYI- your heater has a heat exchanger shut down temp of 235C and mine regularly operates at 185C so your sealant may not hold up. Permatex also makes a red HIGH TEMP version and also a "fire proof" silicone that might be better suited to this app.
What a Dynomite video! Although I would have to watch the video 10 more times and take notes - I honestly believe that I could install this myself. Tho it may take me a month or 2... hehe. Thank You Seven. Oh - and the diesel-powered heaters need some kind of yearly maintenance - I wonder what that entails... Warmest regards Jennie
This is a good informational video. Well done… but Espar has updated the electrical so make sure you cross reference more current videos as connections have changed.
Nice videos! At around 24:12 you show a shot of the installed pump. It appears the wrong way around. The D2 installation instructions shows the electrical contacts on the output side (The high side) of the pump. Your vid shows the contact on the tank side (Low side). Did you fix this later? Installing my heater right now, so this made me do a double take and now I am questioning my self :-)
Nice install but I see some issues.the exhaust needs to point down further to let out condensation and also the rubber bracket you've used for the exhaust will melt.
Excellent demonstration of the heater install! Well done. Your craftsmenship is as wonderful as your charm. ;-) Is there a less expensive diesel heater? The Esper S2 is priced currently at $1145.
There's lots of Chinese diesel heaters for sale on AliExpress you can buy for $150-200ish last I checked. People seem to like them a lot, good bang for the buck
There’s a guy here in Australia who imports the Chinese knock offs and provides a 2 year warranty and keeps spares. Still more expensive than eBay and Amazon but still cheaper than the German unit. The warranty gives you peace of mind. Great videos by the way.
I am just curious: why bring the exhaust pipe close to the side entry door? I would have brought the exhaust pipe to to the other side of the van and the intake close to the entrance door.
The challenge with the exhaust hose is how much back pressure the S2 needs to operate smoothly. Unfortunately that’s not enough to cross the van and go out the other side.
Well, I just noticed that someone else wrote the same kind of comment. The point is to have a long exhaust pipe to cross the width of the van to bring the fumes on the other side of the entry door. I am pointing that fact because I have to do the same kind of installation with a Propex Heater on my travel trailer built project.
Nice install, I guess 2 things though, your fuel tap off pipework looks a little temporary,(dangling down loose etc). Personally I would have taken air intake in different direction to exhaust and muffler and pipe pointing downwards. Routing exhaust to rear of van. First time you take the van offroad you will be lucky to not shear those pipes off if left under sills .
my only thing is that I have seen videos of the muffler being installed at a different angle and then also if you did decide to go somewhere with lots of cold weather but wanted to enjoy some time with the door open for a few minutes for a photo or maybe just loading something in and out, you would have the fumes inside. might have been better to get an extension and run it out after the sliding door.
