i think it helps that the mcs are their own characters and not player inserts. no matter who you choose, wise and belle stay as wise and belle, they don’t become the player

@Kaprine2005x 80% of the genshin story is boring the 20% where the good cutscenes are playing is good the combat is very basic there isn't much variety it depends on wether you want to do high damage from hyperbloom or do low damage from normal crit teams

@@tweetug3697 Yes.. I say this because I actually played it when it was first released in 2020 (btw I had a good UID). I was disappointed at first because you see that they USED ALMOST THE SAME MODEL AND ANIMATION (RUN, JUMP, BOW AIM, NPC idle).
At first the game is actually fun, you can explore mondstadt like you've never played any open world Zelda. And somehow I managed to play it for 3 years (after the last update Sumeru 2023), I find genshin very boring, you will realize that they are lazy with new things and will never fix their mistakes.
The normal dialogue is boring so I promise I'll skip it all like most MMORPG games. Daily quests in genshin sh1t, you might have to spend 30 minutes for each day in genshin while in HSR it's so easy that you can even eat while playing. After 3 years of experience, I feel like living in a prison that never escapes from daily quests and events. That's why I said Genshin was boring AF.
And yes, the game sucks. But the lore and fan art are actually good. You will probably be interested in the anime when it is released.

What the guy above me said. No way a ZZZ anime can make more money than the game. In fact, most anime are only commercials for other merchandise. That's why we get a bunch mid anime adaptation like for Persona 5. They're made to promote what really makes money.
At best, they work in tandem to strengthen the brand, but considering series like Uma Musume and Fate Grand Order, we all know where all the animation budget is coming from.

I wouldn't really describe it as anime-esque, in spite of the artstyle. There's a sort of like, squishy fluidity that invokes the vibes of something closer to a western style slapstick cartoon, imo.
Beside artstyle, there is also that soft slice-of-life feeling.
Its RWBY if they had the budget of Montys Dreams.
@@TheStaniG Exactly my thoughts, the movements and animation fluidity feels so much like rwby but they really polished it. The background has so much detail put into it compared to rwby tho so it feels far less janky and the soft pastel/clay look of the models help it feel less CG cartoonish like rwby and early 3d animes.
Honestly wouldn't surprise me if the animators at hoyo did a whole ton of studying on western 3d like rwby, arcane, and even pixar films. This style is very reminiscent of them

They are going for that springiness that RWBY was going for but had no budget for. When you have what is essentially Unlimited Budget Works, you got the time to make all the frames look good.

I really love how much effort they put in the animations. This one specifically seems so casual and those little things happening in the background like the bangboos with the boxes, the guy promoting the HIA. Those small details makes everything seem so alive and im all here for it

The scenes are really well animated especially the expression
The fact that a random npc we see less than 3 second is more animated than any character in other gacha tells everything about there capacity to provide the best game ever.
After Berserk and Ex:Arm completely atomized my expectations of "CGI anime", this and Girls Band Cry hard carried my hopes and dreams of the "art style/ approach" being a legit thing in the industry.
It's a bloody joy to watch and I can never be thankful enough for the folks behind these.
What about Love Live series? They used to have the crappiest CGI but they had a huge improvement.
Apparently silverlink try to evolve using cgi as a part of the scene in the snime they made now. Only for some of them though not all

Compared to HSR and Genshin. In Hi3 (Both Kiana and dreamseeker) and HG2 the MC talks a lot probably the same with ToT too
I never got the appeal of silent/mostly silent protagonist. Even in the 90's.

@HunterSteel29 Yeah, I get the idea, but it rarely had that effect on me, personally. I think it works better with CRPG's where you are making decisions for almost everything and can fully customize your character like with Baldur's Gate 3.

Im pretty excited for the zzz story just for cute moments like this, we already have big scale stuff in Genshin and HSR so I hope they take the opportunity to make this game a little more grounded and moment to moment personally

@Ares16345 I play both bro and all I can say HSR is providing more content than genshin. Also, they're more generous that genshin couldn't do in 3 years.
Recently, HSR announced that they're releasing new endgame content and that'll be the 6th one within a year, whereas genshin still thinking one abyss endgame is enough and they'll loose casual players cuz it gives players stress if they add more, I was like what the heck are they even thinking? Even casual players do endgame things in HSR. Genshin lacks in "ways to use my characters"

If we follow the trend in hoyo games the story is gonna be good for the first released area. Great for the second area. And terrible for the third.

Well the animation style used here is western based. What makes anime for most people are the simple character designs with crazy colored hairs. Thats what 99% people think of when you say anime.

Okay, where on the mihoyo mutliverse does this world fall? It feels like a could have been earth. Not too technologically advance like HI nor too star trek like HSR, nor too fantasy feeling like GI. Like if HSR, HI and GI feels like a branching timelines yet originates from the same origin. ZZZ seems like a branch from a different trunk that branched off waaay earlier compared to the three.
You know what funny is that Genshin is the only medieval theme game Hoyo made, almost every other games they made is Sci-Fi theme.

@@Maz_446 Mihoho already confirmed that all their games fall into the Mihoyo Multiverse as was established in both GGZ and Honkai before Star Rail and Genshit came out.
Genshin was created to expand the Honkai universe so yeah
I hear ZZZ have different asset from other Hoyoverse games like it is made from scratch. HI3, GI and HSR often have similar model and design like copy paste. This new asset probably the cause ZZZ have more expressions and smooth animations.
This is how anime's should be 3D animated if they choose to go that route

In Chinese games and Japanese anime, people usually don't make that many body language and hand gestures when they talk...this is more like mimicking American cartoon

anime rely on still frames during talking scenes because every frame is hand drawn unlike American cartoons that reuse assets, high budget anime or movies usually can afford to have expressive movements like this tho
as an otaku i agree with you, the way they animated this look like american animation movement style like hotel transylvania you know what i mean, and then there is a demi human animal character which is why i assume that this is for western audience, still gonna play it tho, i just hope they dont make canon character realationship like honkai series
Yep, anime is all about limited subtle animations to make it cheap while saving the budget for big action scenes, here every single frame is animated like an extremely lively Pixar movie
I think 3D anime should focus on doing something like ZZZ instead of trying make 3D animation look 2D (something that, to this day, only Arc System Works managed to get it right)
