Very heart warming coming from a film as depressing as this one
It definitely was depressing at times, but it was also very hopeful and heroic. A bleak situation that makes broken people become brave to protect the ones they love. Great movie

That last bit is why I like the idea of Godzilla being a parent. It can show a side of him that isn't just "Big, powerful, and destructive"

Hey technically heisei did love jr. after all in Godzilla vs Space Godzilla, after jr was imprisoned in the crystals by Space, Godzilla was determined to stop Space, inadvertently freeing jr from his prison. And Godzilla especially showed his love and care for jr in Godzilla vs Destroyah when after Destroyah mortally wounded jr, Godzilla became furious and determined to avenge his son. And after Godzilla had a breather after his first round with Destroyah, he approached his fallen son and tried to breath life back into him but it ultimately failed and when jr died Godzilla cried with grief.

I would actually watch a series akin to your other show about -1 protecting his son from other -1 Monsters, all acuminating with him getting help from humans to combat a Bioweapon made by the Human Villain, with Him Finally Forgiving Humanity and Koichi before leaving into the sea with his son.
maybe he can team up with some -1 Anguirus (a Pangolin mutated by the same kind of Radiation that made Godzilla) as his Sidekick, With Mothra Starting as Godzilla's Rival before becoming a close friend with her, teaming up with Both to defeat Biollante, a Bioweapon made to Destroy all Kaiju made from both a Rose's DNA and the infected DNA of Noriko.
