@@WolfgangDoW ever check out Forge Labs? Pretty entertaining guy and a good personality. But I can see why some people wouldn't like em that much. I feel like you love it or hate it, no in-between.
This is genuinely one of my favourite things from Kevin in a long long time. I absolutely adore his sims series, especially 1 and 2 centered, but this might even surpass it. It was fun seeing him get creative and forge his own little story.
Kinda was wondering if setting a world border would make it easier to keep yourself in the chunk, but I don't see any vanilla options that'll make it so it doesn't block mobs and entities from actually getting in.
Kevin, there is actually a seed for specifically doing this challenge, where you are able to defeat Ender dragon without leaving your starting chunk. Idk if you will feel interested enough to search it up and play it for a stream/youtube-vid. Nevertheless, just letting you know.
The saplings you planted were Dark Oak saplings, those need to be 4 together to grow a tree (2x2) downside is that the tree doesn't always drop 4 saplings so it's not very renewable. I'm not sure if you were able to reach the oak tree but those are way easier to farm if you can get a sapling! Also keep fishing! There is a very small chance to get *any* enchanted book from fishing, an enchanted bow, an enchanted fishing rod (this means infinite fishing rods) or some fancy leather boots! You can also craft wool with 4 string if you didn't know that already. Besides that, building a mob grinder would be quite usefull too! Just make a dark, 2 block tall area, with the bottom blocks of the walls replaced with slabs so you can hit the mobs through the hole, while being safe!
Kevin not putting all 4 dark oak saplings together made me want to cry I wanted to cry even more when he said “maybe their *too close* together HE JUST WASTED THE BONEMEAL OH MY GOD I CANT BREATHE
would love to see more of this! and about the tree's, they're dark oak so you need to plant four together and they grow as one big one (which hopefully will then drop 4 or more saplings which you can replant otherwise feck)
Pro tip for anyone planning to do this too: If you press F3 + G then it will let you see the chunk border of the chunk you're in. Quite useful if you ask me.
I really wanna see more of these! Also there’s actually a border command you could put a little outside your chunk so you could still do the placing blocks method while also not accidentally straying outside the border 👌😌
The only thing I am annoyed about, is that he didn't have this idea sooner! Really hoping for a Play Series here Kev. You know what you need to do! GIVE US MORE!
Love this. And would love to see more. The best advice I could give, that others have probably already told you, is: Dark Ork saplings (the ones you're trying to grow) are a unique tree that requires 4 saplings to be placed right next to each other in a 2x2 area in order to grow. Also yes you can fish up treasure! but with a standard fishing rod is very rare. You can Increase your chance with then enchantment "Luck of the sea".

Dark oak saplings: can literally only spawn trees when together in a 2x2
Kevin: "What if I spread them apart?"
“Maybe they need to be further apart”
@@twistedreality997 死 literally means "Death" and your name in English is "TwistedReality" are you ok?
Kevin planting the dark oak saplings spaced out hurts my head.
It’s unique to the dark oak saplings and jungle saplings, why would it be 2x2?
@@PugnaciousProductions if it was jungle saps it would have worked.
@@PugnaciousProductions Spruce also grows in a 2x2 pattern, dark oak is the only unique one here since it's the only one that can't grow from individual saplings.
ahh, where this all started.
i can predict the nostalgia we'll all feel after he (probably) ends the series and we go back to rewatch the first episode to see where it began.

Maan seeing that Kevin only had dark oak saplings broke my heart, like he was so proud of himself for getting it, but it's the most difficult sapling to grow.
Jungle trees are even worse. They have a reduced sapling drop rate compared to everything else
@@Myne1001 really? TIL

I'm looking forward to the Jack Sparrow, "I've got a jar of dirt" style justifications Kevin comes up with to expand his realm if this continues as a series
f3+g to show chunk borders. dark oak sapplings need to be placed in 2x2 otherwise they cant grow, wheat can grow without water (takes longer) but i think its the only crop that can. you can craft a wool from string so you dont need sheep. plant the carrot. build a fence on the obsidian so mobs cant get thru.
I like how, if another youtuber did this challenge, their first port of call would be to gather materials while they chat about strategy, while Kevin's just like "PuHt peeg in boCKs!"
😂 this is such an underrated comment
Kevin's happiness is so infectious, that even though my mind went to the fishing rod before him,, when he caught his first fish and got so excited, I cheered out loud lol

Hello fellow Kevin! You may have already heard, but you should be able to use the fishing rod to pull in floating items as well. Get drops and saplings from further than your building can reach

19:49 actually once you have water fishing is a smart strategy because you can fish up new fishing rods meaning it's self sustaining
Also Kevin using one entire piece of coal for a single fish is kind of frustrating ngl.
“I have a house, food source and a prisoner.” Everything you need to survive
Well, if Kevin still feeling generous, he could make windows for Pig using half-blocks (with all that cobble he can craft a lot of them), ladders and, if he somehow find out how to get wood, fence.
Stone fences also work
The amount of times I have re-watched both One Chunk series is ridiculous at this point, but that doesn't mean I will stop. Best thing to watch when anxiety is high✨

I use it so I have just enough to listen to keep my mind from wandering, but listen just enough so I fall asleep to it. It's comforting and charming and it works every time (I also like it when I'm awake- I just have more views from when I'm two seconds from passing out and can't shut my brain off than from when I'm fully online and awake, lol).

I'm wondering if Kevin secretly knew the whole time that the dark oak needed to be in 2×2 and we was just acting this whole time like he didn't know, just for the comedy and entertainment value of it.

This is genuinely one of my favourite things from Kevin in a long long time. I absolutely adore his sims series, especially 1 and 2 centered, but this might even surpass it. It was fun seeing him get creative and forge his own little story.
Kevin: Insults minecraft wiki
Me who has made 1 slight change on the wiki: How dare you!
Kevin: "wood is a valuable resource."
Uses wooden planks to decorate roof.
Doesn't use the turg skin.
Kinda was wondering if setting a world border would make it easier to keep yourself in the chunk, but I don't see any vanilla options that'll make it so it doesn't block mobs and entities from actually getting in.
I love the fact that Kevin is so hopeful that one dark sapling is enough to grow a tree.
Kevin, there is actually a seed for specifically doing this challenge, where you are able to defeat Ender dragon without leaving your starting chunk. Idk if you will feel interested enough to search it up and play it for a stream/youtube-vid. Nevertheless, just letting you know.
He just started a hardcore version of this series, with an end portal in the starting seed. Not sure what the seed itself is though
This was actually incredibly entertaining to watch lol
I actually hope he continues to make videos of this
Kevin not putting all 4 dark oak saplings together made me want to cry
I wanted to cry even more when he said “maybe their *too close* together
HE JUST WASTED THE BONEMEAL OH MY GOD I CANT BREATHE
Seeing Kevin put down one dark sapling by itself will never not make me die inside
You should do this, but on multiplayer, a lot of people playing in their own chunks next to each other
would love to see more of this! and about the tree's, they're dark oak so you need to plant four together and they grow as one big one (which hopefully will then drop 4 or more saplings which you can replant otherwise feck)
I love that almost everyone in the comment are talking about dark oak saplings 😂
I really like your videos Kevin. You're very creative and funny 😄
