One of the very few pleasures I have had in life is when I got SteelHeart's debut album in 1990. From beginning to end it was incredible. ❤
And now, here it is, 33 years later, to my pleasant surprise, the band went into the studio and rerecorded one of my favorite tracks from their 1990 release. It is good to hear Miljenko's voice has held up so well at 58 years old.
Miljenko Matijevic, thank you for hanging in there after your devastating accident and continuing to make music. We Generation X'er are grateful for the amazing music. I saw you guys in concert in the summer of 1991 at the Akron Agora, and I will never forget it.

My girlfriend at that time told me about this group. Not hearing any songs, I went and bought it. I really enjoyed it and still do. I was blown away by the vocals. And with this re-recorded version, his vocals are still amazing.
Miljenko Matijevic is one of the best vocalists such a great range. Great band and would love to see them tour Australia.

Still love this tune at 53 years old. Simple chords, smokin lead, amazing vocals. Chills when hearing it. I dare you not to air guitar. Every song should kick this much.

My all-time favorite hair band singer, and maybe favorite singer in any genre. Miljenko recently did a podcast with one of my buddies on "The Weekly Pour" and it airs tomorrow night. Cannot wait! That first album is still on rotation in my house and I'm 53 years old now. :)

Oh man this takes me back to my youth. The original was awesome when I first heard it. But this version is a home run. John Fowler's drumming on the original was phenomenal and so is this version.

Brings back memories in the 90's in High School! I knew a Beautiful girl named Eileen and she was tall! I shouted down the hall "Everybody Loves Eileen!" I did it everyday until she turned around and I met her.
Did she become my girlfriend, no. However, we became great friends!

Always loved this song! It's funny seeing all the comments about going back to the 80s when Steelheart's debut album came out in 1990.
yea, true, but 90 and 91 were the tail end of the "Hair Metal" era, so its still kinda considered the 80's sound. :) To this day, I hate grunge with every fibre of my being for killing Hair Metal, it was like overnight.
@Scott Magyar Oh, I agree. There were a number of really great bands that had debuts in those 2 years. Grunge basically put an end to them.

Oh they've still got it. It's an amazing version of this song. I just saw them at The Rainbow in Hollywood on Sunday and Mili's voice sounds amazing. I love the energy they brought to their performance. Absolutely incredible. I want to see them perform live again.

Great remake! The only thing I notice, is the absence of Fowler. He played ever so slightly behind the beat and had a unique feel (I am a drummer, go figure). But those are huge shoes to fill and this guy is doing a great job! The 80s was by far the best time for music. The artists had to bring it, or they didn't make it. Now with pitch correction and unlimited overdubs (digital), anybody can make an album. Ugh. Mili gives 110% every time he performs. I completely wore this album out many times over, and to this day, it is on tight rotation on mp3 players.
