Hey Sam! Leaves are amazing! Given some time leaves can turn into nutrient dense soil that plants can grow and thrive in rather successfully. It’s pretty cool!
Great idea. My town offers FREE compost and wood chips in the spring. Just in time to top off my garden beds and walkway’s. I have also found a local resource for FREE organic manure for the garden. Craigslist is a good place to start, community page or word of mouth.
Hi Candy! Actually no, no need to turn it at all. Once you put the leaves in the bag water them lightly, tie em up and poke holes and place in a shaded area then wait. It really is set it and forget it 🤩 Thanks so much for watching❣️
Why don't you get a trash can poke some holes in it an put your trash bag in it so you can put your food scrapes and coffee grinds and egg shells to give the compost some nutrients. Put hold at the bottom of the trash can so the worms will have a way in. The. You could turn it every now and then. And make it easier on your back to move your compost closer to your garden for later use.
Hi Theresa! Leaves are actually extremely nutrient dense. The nutrition comes from the huge mature trees that have really deep roots which access nutrients and minerals deep in the ground. Using them as a compost is like giving your plants a multivitamin 🤩 I do use kitchen scraps but I blend them into a “garden smoothie” and pour it into my soil which the worms love! Thanks so much for watching 🥰
Hi Chloe! Actually I blend my food scraps into a “garden smoothie” and put it into my soil which has been great so far and definitely brings worms 🤩 The leaves are chocked full of nutrients from the mature tress that have really deep roots so using them as compost is kinda like giving your plants a multivitamin 🤣 Thanks so much for watching❣️
@@TheWeekendGardenShow Thank you for that answer. I just learned something new. I leave in a townhouse community that only allows trees at the walk way. This fall I will make sure to get as many of those leaves as I can for next fall planting in my grow bag garden. Thanks for your help🙌🏽
