You can’t help but feel sorry for them. They were abused for 3 years and went through puberty together. That’s why Cathy said “Yes I love him. You made me love him” in if there be thorns
Same here but they based the second movie 10 years into the future yet the movie came out the same year as the first one so if they had kept the same actors and actresses then they would have had to wait a year or two before making a second or lowering the 10 years to one or two so that it’s more realistic to the way the actors/actresses look.
I have lived with an abussive family, so I know and I perfectly understand how it feels. Basically is like don't have nobody in the world. What a horrible tragedy, how hard these scenes are and the worst part is that things like this happen in the reality. No family should be like this, the ideal is that families love themselves, but when your family becomes your worst enemy you feel that you have no strength to go out and face the world, and the majority of the common people almost never understand the hurts and the traumas that these families left and they don't even imagine that these things happen in the reality. There are many people that grew up in toxic, abussive, violent and unstable families. The result of that, is extremely hard and cruel for the victims. I know it by my own experience.
I adored this second movie just as much as the first. Not a masterpiece, obviously, but there sure are enough twists and action to keep us entertained the whole time. Plus : Cathy and Chris's relationship is just astonishing : You know deep in yourself that you shouldn't want any incestuous stuff to happen, but with these two, let's be honest, we all find ourselves craving for it :') Once again : beautiful retro settings and thrilling score ! Loved it !
YES. Though, now I sort of want Chris and Jory to run far, far away and let Cathy and the rest stay in the crappy old mansion. haha. Cathy and Chris were the only ones that could make each other happy. As they were ever going to get in Cathy's case.
It's about time someone is bringing the VC Andrew's books to film. It doesn't get any better than this. Her stories were filled with sex, mystery, revenge, Love, betrayal, just edge of your seat reading start to finish. It's like mini soap operas but better
So bizarre...Heather Graham went to my high school and in junior high I read the whole FITA series. AND always thought she should play Cathy! Funny how things turn out. Also I thought she should have played Heather Chandler in the Heathers movie...and turned out she was Supposed to play Heather McNamara but her parents wouldn't let her take the part. I saw a Heathers documentary about that 5 years ago that explained it.
Anyone else watched movies 3 and 4??? V.C. Andrews is a genius for even coming up with Flowers in the Attic..and Petals on the Wind is part 2, If there Be Thorns Part 3, and Seeds of Yesterday part 4.
I wasn't terribly impressed with parts three and four, especially three. It's as if Lifetime spent most of the budget on the first two films. It also really bothers me how Corrine sort of gets a weird redemption arc when she's the absolute WORST.
I loved the Flowers in the attic movie. Keirnan, Mason, Ellen all were fantastic. Heather's performance grew on me after watching this. But this looks so good and badass. Heather has up the stakes ;) I loved the book now I love the movies. Can't wit to see what Wyatt and Rose bring to the table. WOO-HOO. May 26 please come fast.
OMG I CAN'T FUCKING WAIT! I AM EXTREMELY EXCITED! THE BOOKS ARE AMAZING AND THE MOVIE WAS GREAT SO FAR CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE! LOVE V.C. ANDREWS!!!!
I'm more excited to hear Kelly Sweet's song than I am seeing this movie, but kudos to Lifetime for bringing VC Andrews to life. One of the best writers of the 80's and 90's.
Don't exaggerate, VC Andrews is far from one of the best of the 80's and 90's. Her writing has many flaws that made reading a absolutely unbearable at times.
WatersTainted I beg to differ. Read My Sweet Audrina. And really in writing we all have our style. Some of the best writers have flaws. It doesn't mean it's not great. Her books have been made into movies. So there.
Read it. It was average at best. Correction, every writer has flaws. But what makes a book armature? Failure to create need depth and overwhelming unrealistic situations (in non-si-fi/fantasy books). Cathy was underwhelming in her character development, pretentious and childish thoughts, failed to add any of the delicious poetic references as she did in the first novel of the series, and the reactions were slow and worthy of serious eye rolling. This series in particular was full of annoying flaws that disrupted the enjoyment level and her inconsistencies. (In Shadow Garden the mother's name changes) Her books have been made into movies? *rolls eyes* So have the Twilight books, not exactly what I'd call great literature and that made 20000000x more money than any of VC's book adaptions. lol
WatersTainted I want to argue with you, but I can't. haha. Cathy is to this day the only (Twilight doesn't count) book narrator that I hate with a passion. I always thought that was sort of the point, though. She's still stuck in that attic. All the kids are. The next two books are a little like a train wreck, though. (And forgive me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Shadow Garden written by the ghost writer?) That said, these books were the ones that inspired me to start reading and become a writer myself. They're aimed at an audience, like that of lifetime (like me haha), that will look past the flaws for that sort of story.
TheTadpoie Understandable. That's how the Twilight series is for me. :P Truly awful but I can look past the flaws as it inspired me to explore my writing skills. Just a side note, it was NOT only Cathy that bothered me but how people have reacted to her. I do not mind an unlikable narrator but when the people around her are equally unlikable, it just becomes a train-wreck! I get that she's sill in Attic-Mode, so her constant blaming of her mother is perfectly fine and her defensive modes are excusable...but everyone else (*cough*Peter*cough*) is just plain annoying. (with the exception of Chris, I have a soft spot for him) I've done a couple of rereads and I'm coming to grips with a lot of my dislike of the unrealistic handle the author has. so what I what I used to find burn-worthy is become okay. I don't know...lol According to Wiki, Shadow Garden was written by V.C Andrews.
Wooooo...only a little bit of a trailer and the chemistry between Chris and Cathy is heating up! Not to mention is that Bart or Julian with Cathy.... :D Can't wait for it to be released in the UK, Flowers In The Attic is on in the UK tomorrow WOOP! :P
Mason Dye (Christopher in Flowers in the Attic) was gorgeous, not sure about the new guy. The new Cathy is much prettier though. This trailer is amazing; the song choice & the editing. It's so melodramatic, I hope the movie lives up to it! :-)
"I make the rules, and I execute the punishment." I wonder how self-aware Olivia is that she sounds JUST like her evil husband who destroyed her life and the lives of their own children. I need to rewatch Ellen Burstyn's performance now that I know the character's tragic backstory, and can't help but feel the most sorry for her out of anyone in the family.
lmfaao the last part of the movie slayed me. I almost choked on my chips I was cackling so much. "mmottheerr" 'I NEED TO SEE MUH BABIES." Heather is such a bad actress. Love it.
Can't wait either! From what I have read about the movie, it doesn't look like Dr. Paul will make an appearance; does anyone know? I'm wondering if he got cut out. Henny's in however...
Well, to be honest, what Paul and Cathy did in the book is actually more illegal than what Chris and Cathy did. At least Chris and Cathy were both minors, and their love could be forgiven due to the extremely traumatic circumstances they were in. But what Dr. Paul did with Cathy was straight-up pedophilia and statutory rape and could not be excused, so I guess the filmmakers decided to do away with that.
Omg I can't wait to see the movie because this is part two omggggggggg I am so happy I am going to record it I only have 4 days left till I watch this amazing movie on may 26 $o excited
I read these books many years ago. Never thought they would be movies, the incest is just wicked and shocking. Yet you can't help route for these poor imprisoned kids.
This trailer is badass, but I'm concerned since these films are made-for-tv...I wonder how accurate, adult or shocking it will be, like the book? I haven't seen the 1st one yet. I'm a bit skeptical, & I'm not a Heather Graham fan. Her acting kind of stinks. But I saw Chris & Cathy...whoa. 0:36 So they're clearly not gonna wimp out on the subject matter, no matter how disturbing it is, right?! Does the plot feel watered down at all? Is it mature enough to mess with our psyches the way the book did, or is this trailer misleading as most are, and this is gonna be just cheap TV melodrama like a PG-13 re-imagining? Thoughts?
Hey can u guys help me? I know the song is In the air tonight by Kelly sweet but when i look ot up on my Music downloader app it doesnt have the song by kelly sweet just by the original artist i really like this song by kelly s. But cant find it/download it. please HELP!Thank you
The new actor for Chis is not nearly as hot as the actor as in Flowers in the Attic, but I like the new Cathy. Honestly, the book was shit. (Petals on the Wind) I'm glad they're making changes, they understood the flaws and are fixing them. I wonder what their backstory will be? I'm pumped
I'm assuming that the only thing they're changing is Cathy's relationship with Dr. Paul Sheffield, as that would be incredibly inappropriate. I would guess that they're going to focus on Chris and Cathy's relationship, all through her abusive marriage to Julian Marquet, and her plot to take revenge on their mother by seducing Corrine's new husband, Bart Winslow. They also seem to be adding a Chris/Cathy love scene that wasn't in the book, but I think that it would be a plus in this situation.
44excalibur That love scene could be the one on Christmas. Yes, I figured as much. But they're forwarding 10 years, what were those ten years like? Are they simply going to gloss over it with "Chris worked to become a doctor and Cathy worked hard and long to become a ballerina." Will Paul even be in the movie? (There has been no mention of him). Maybe they'll use Henry. I'm just curious how they're changing the plot prior to toe action stuff. (And if it's ten years forward, I would not call Corrine's marriage new. :P)
WatersTainted No, the Christmas scene was when Chris and Cathy were still teenagers and living at Dr, Paul's house. That was where Chris and Cathy came very close to making love a second time, but she stopped it at the last minute. Funny how she kept telling Chris to stop kissing her neck while at the same time she kept bending her head back and pressing his head closer to her. lol But that takes place too early in the book for that to be the scene at 0:35. I'm guessing that the scene where you see Chris and Cathy kissing and about to make love takes place at that cabin where she and Jory are staying at near the end of the novel, the same place that Cathy used as a meeting place for her and Bart Winslow. There's a scene in the book where Chris comes over for a visit and spends the weekend with Cathy and Jory, and Cathy even admits that they seem almost like a family. The night before Chris leaves, there's a scene where he and Cathy have this moment together before he goes to his bedroom.... a moment that easily could've become a love scene if V.C. Andrews hadn't again had Cathy resist him. The next morning, Chris is gone and Cathy is crying in the kitchen. Jory finds her there and asks her why she's sad, and she tells him that she misses his Uncle Chris. I think this is going to be where they put in the Chris/Cathy love scene, that night at her cabin before he leaves. As for Dr. Paul, they may mention him, but only as a guardian and mentor for Chris and Cathy, not as Cathy's love interest. They need someone to help Chris go to medical school and Cathy to get into dancing professionally.
44excalibur I know it was when they were teenagers and so is the moment that you mentioned. They could jump ten years and have this take place on Christmas...? You're not acknowledging simple changes. This scene could be a Christmas before she meets Julian or maybe a scene when Chris finds out that is marrying Julian. Remember the one Chris had with Cathy when he realized she was to marry Paul? Except for Cathy resisting, it could be Cathy allowing Chris to take her. Or not, that's too far into the movie. I imagine they might brief over him, but what a waste of plot. Again, there has been no mention of Paul, so he might not even be in the movie period.
WatersTainted Actually, the moment in the book that I mentioned did not take place at Christmas. The scenes between Chris and Cathy at the cabin take place years after Julian Marquet has died and Jory is already a toddler. It's right around the time that Cathy is enacting her plan to seduce Bart Winslow away from her mother. It really doesn't make sense to have a love scene between Chris and Cathy take place before she even meets Julian, because the story is all about her finding her way back to Chris after going through all of that stuff with Julian and Bart Winslow. If Cathy gives herself to Chris so early in the story, it defeats the purpose of her constantly pushing him away at the beginning. That's why I'm guessing that Chris and Cathy's love scene takes place at near the end, long after Julian is dead and around the time that Cathy is busy seducing Bart to get back at Corrine.
Ummm....the mother never set the grandmother on fire in the book....I don't understand that. I have a feeling the movie is going to be missing so many of the right facts but I'm still going to watch it.
I think it's her setting the house on fire, which is what happened in the book. They never prove it, but it's implied because she's jealous of Cathy being with Bart. But yeah, she never sets the grandmother on fire, but the whole house. The mom being in the institution is the end of the novel. Also, the grandmother isn't able to talk in Petals on the Wind.
Well she kind of did actually. She knew her mother was helpless and even though she didnt start the fire in her mothers room, she still knew there was a good chance her mother wasnt coming out alive.
Maybe. She did sen Bart back in to get her mother though. Although yes, she knew her mother was helpless. But she didn't set the house on fire to get back at her mom. She did it to get back at Bart and Cathy.
sassyjo9 Just because books are different from the movies, doesn't give anyone the right to change MAJOR parts of the book that are important to the storyline.
I can't wait! I loved flowers in the attic! Way better than the first version, the second movie looks so good! I'm kinda upset they replaced the first Christopher he was way hotter. But I'm liking the new Cathy ooooo I can't wait
After seeing this trailer................. *I wanna scream!!!* this is the only trailer gives me wing feelings and kind a shame at the same time after watching the movie!
+44excalibur....I think?¿ I didn't even notice that change. Omg ur good! All I know is that b this movie is gonna be good and I can't wait for Monday. I'll r spend to u with my thoughts so u can correct me if I got something wrong lol
I honestly do understand the whole incest thing IN THIS CASE because of the circumstances and then being trapped in the attic with only eachother but I don’t like how it dragged on after they were adults
Woah! Are Chris and Cathy having a sex scene at 0:35???? :) That certainly wasn't in the book. She and Chris don't get together until the end in the novel. And it was never revealed who started the fire at Foxworth Hall in the novel, yet here they're saying it's Corrine? But this is awesome!!!
Kyoko Escamilla They came close, but she would always pull away just as they were about to go all the way. lol This time it looks as if Cathy's gonna finally give into her feelings for Chris. I think the only thing that was missing from the book was a Chris/Cathy love scene.
I don't think that's Cathy and Chris in that scene. It could be Paul , Bart or even Julian. Plus we don't know which direction this movie will take. We just have to wait and see
Khloe D No, it can't be Paul because Paul would be too old. And I don't think they're even doing the Cathy/Paul thing in this movie. Bart and Julian both have dark hair, and the man Cathy is making out with at 0:37 has blonde hair, so it's obviously Chris.
They met Paul at the age of 40 I I hardly think that's too old to have sex. Like I say we don't kno what direction they are taking but it would be really odd to put that in the movie when Chris and Cathy never had sex in Petals on the Wind but only came close to it.
I am so happy they are making a other movie the first movie was awesome so I know this is going to be very good I've not read the books but I hear they are awesome do anyone no we're you can get flowers in the attic books?
One of the main things that I like about the book that I'm disappointed wasn't in the movie was that Cathy was romantically/sexually involved with their adoptive father, Paul Sheffield. I'm guessing they decided to have Paul killed off earlier in the movie because they were already being risky with keeping Cathy and Christopher's incestuous relationship and didn't want to take anymore risks by adding Cathy and Paul's pedophilic relationship too.
So many things wrong here. Don't get me wrong I absolutely loved the first movie for being so damn near accurate and for having an awesome charm to it. But the whole ten-year skip things I'm not sure about. Still, definitely better than the original movie in the 80s. Still excited for it, hope it is really done well.
i cant wait and other people say thiers going to be a huge differnce between this and the book thiers two things i have seen yes it sucks it jumps ten years ahead so cathy is not around paul but i really hope they show him once or at least mention him two the mother does not lite the grandmother on fire so these are the only differnces i see
watch.lifetimemovieclub.com/movies/if-there-be-thorns/full-movie All 4 are on there. It's like 4.00 a month to watch all movies at anytime. They also have all the other VC Andrew films there too. Also a lot of other great movies. No contract just 4.00 a month. It come with a month free trial and you can watch all the movies and then decide if you want to pay the 4.00
Where is the little girl thoe....dont she survive in the books as well? I know that they are not going to be 100 percent based on the books but seriously?
I now know she is in the books AND in the film but why didnt they show her in the trailer? Like they did show the whole cast in the first flowers in the attic trailer
You can’t help but feel sorry for them. They were abused for 3 years and went through puberty together. That’s why Cathy said “Yes I love him. You made me love him” in if there be thorns
What they don't know is that they come from a long line (circle?) of incest, which explains why mental illness runs in the family.
This was possibly the best trailer lifetime ever made the song is so perfect!
I wish they could have kept the same cast.
Heather is still in it. Eileen is still on it.
Same here but they based the second movie 10 years into the future yet the movie came out the same year as the first one so if they had kept the same actors and actresses then they would have had to wait a year or two before making a second or lowering the 10 years to one or two so that it’s more realistic to the way the actors/actresses look.

OMG same!
YES. Though, now I sort of want Chris and Jory to run far, far away and let Cathy and the rest stay in the crappy old mansion. haha. Cathy and Chris were the only ones that could make each other happy. As they were ever going to get in Cathy's case.

Unfortunately, it really doesn't get better than this. Lifetime's other V. C. Andrews adaptations are pretty bad in that typical TV movie kind of way.
The version of this song for this movie, couldn't be more perfect. I just love it.

omg so trashy. so bad. I'm ready for it!!!
And I like these new actors for cathy and chris. I think Rose will be very good and she's so beautiful!
The song's name is: Kelly Sweet - In The Air Tonight
MarcalDiego Thanx
But the song is originally from Phil Collins
This is my favorite book in the Dollanganger series!! I can't wait!!

The Christopher's in these movies are sooooo F***ing fine, they can be my brothers any time :3
Ummm....the mother never set the grandmother on fire in the book....I don't understand that. I have a feeling the movie is going to be missing so many of the right facts but I'm still going to watch it.
Books are different from the movie

''Pretty Little Liars Wyatt Nash'' Um can someone tell me who the heck did he play? I'm like a pll fanatic lol and I have no idea who this kid is.
Remember when Caleb and Toby went to that air strip where someone taught Allie to fly a plane it was the guy behind the counter

For reality TV fans, he is best remembered as the guy who was in Survivor: Redemption Island but he was using his real name there at the time.

Kelly Sweet - In The Air Tonight
whats the name of the song?:O
Impressed by Rose McIver!
Ya quiero verla!
They come very close several times however, I assume that's what it is portraying.
Who's the female that sings this version of In the Air Tonight??
Kelsey Nelson Kelly Sweet. But I'm sure you know now.
One of the main things that I like about the book that I'm disappointed wasn't in the movie was that Cathy was romantically/sexually involved with their adoptive father, Paul Sheffield. I'm guessing they decided to have Paul killed off earlier in the movie because they were already being risky with keeping Cathy and Christopher's incestuous relationship and didn't want to take anymore risks by adding Cathy and Paul's pedophilic relationship too.
whats the name of the song in this?
Wow! Rose is using an accent!
I can't wait 😸💀👽
what does the mother says on minute 0:35? i just dont get it....
You think I don't know what went on up there?
So many things wrong here. Don't get me wrong I absolutely loved the first movie for being so damn near accurate and for having an awesome charm to it. But the whole ten-year skip things I'm not sure about. Still, definitely better than the original movie in the 80s. Still excited for it, hope it is really done well.
Wat is the name of the song????
i cant wait and other people say thiers going to be a huge differnce between this and the book thiers two things i have seen yes it sucks it jumps ten years ahead so cathy is not around paul but i really hope they show him once or at least mention him two the mother does not lite the grandmother on fire so these are the only differnces i see
Very good. Twisted yes but very good lol
oh my gosh it's Tinkerbell from OUAT.

What's the song ?
What is that song+
Where is the little girl thoe....dont she survive in the books as well? I know that they are not going to be 100 percent based on the books but seriously?
It's only the first trailer more will be out soon...and Carrie is in this film. Look it up.
I now know she is in the books AND in the film but why didnt they show her in the trailer? Like they did show the whole cast in the first flowers in the attic trailer
It's probably because its the first ever trailer out. They would probably put her in the longer one.
Maybe
THANK YOU FOR SPOILING IT FOR ME JACKASS -_-
OMG!!!
