      I don’t know probably just the tape sequence. I’ve had the tape for at least 10 years and never noticed.

    The "sinner's prayer" denies salvation by faith alone. It's a Baptist tradition that has added the works of confession and prayer to the gospel of grace. It's a false gospel that takes Rom. 10:9,13 out of context. "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:31

      Appreciate your comment, wrong though you may be in your statement concerning a sinner praying to Jesus Christ for forgiveness and salvation, as something that violates scripture. In fact, scripture supports the prayer of a sinner at salvation, as you point out in Romans 10 & Acts 16:30-31. There is no forgiveness or salvation without the sinners confession and call upon the Lord.

      @@LBBC1611 If a lost sinner is required to “…confess with thy MOUTH…” in order to be saved, then people who are unable to speak (the bible word is dumb) cannot be saved. According to Rom. 10:14, you cannot call (pray) until you believe, but once you’ve believed - you’re already saved. Thus, the prayer of Rom. 10:13 is the prayer of a saved man - not a lost man. It’s talking about being saved in the second tense (from the power of sin), not in the first tense, from the penalty of sin (hell). It’s a reference to Joel, which is talking about physical salvation, check Acts 2:16, 21, Joel 2:30-32.

      You don't believe "dumb" people can be saved? You don't think the Lord had that figured out when "he" wrote Romans 10? Salvation is the same for everyone no matter creed, color, or conflict. From the heart believing the gospel and with the mouth confessing the Lord Jesus Christ. Anyone can do it. Don't limit God or put a "handicap" on the individual or the power of the gospel.

      @@LBBC1611 I’m genuinely impressed that you completely missed the point of my previous comment. I absolutely believe ‘dumb’ people can be saved. You are making ‘confession with the mouth’ (something that’s impossible for a dumb person to do) a requirement for salvation. According to your gospel message - they can’t be saved. Do you not understand that certain people are literally unable to confess with their mouth? The modern word is 'mute.' I believe in salvation by faith alone, in Christ alone. Your gospel message is not faith alone.

      Sure, everyone can be saved because we aren't Calvinists, so it's possible for the blind, deaf, and dumb to believe from the heart and confess with the mouth, the Lord Jesus. Limiting one who can't talk from being able to confess with the mouth is like limiting one who is deaf from hearing the gospel. (Ephesians 1:13; Romans 10:14,17,9-13). So, anyone who is able to understand the necessity of the gospel, receives the gospel from the heart, believes the gospel by faith from the heart, and calls upon (confesses with the mouth) the Lord Jesus by faith from the heart is born again. So simple that a blind, deaf, and dumb child could "do" it.
      If saying a prayer is a "work" as some teach based upon Colossians 4:2 & 12, and we are not saved by works, therefore no prayer is required for salvation as Romans 10:9-13 clearly teaches, then to be consistent, you'd have to say belief is not required because belief is a work also, as is faith.
      1Thess. 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
      2Thess. 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
      The question was "Sir, what must I DO to be saved" and the answer was "believe..." Believing is doing something for salvation, so if you are going to be consistent, believing is something you "DO" (e.g., a work) for salvation. No problem for us who believe salvation is believing from the heart and confessing with the mouth. No mute or deaf research required, just the literal plain reading of a King James Bible.
      John 6:29 - Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
      Ephesians 2:8-9 says "not by workS" which means its not a continuous act of believing and praying for salvation. It is a singular act of believing from the heart and confessing with the mouth, the Lord Jesus. How can a mute call upon the Lord or pray confess their sin after salvation for fellowship if they are unable or unqualified to do so. Clearly the Lord makes a way for them to be obedient to the faith without the "overthinker" fixing God's "mistakes."
      Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh (Matthew 12:34; Luke 6:45), that's for saved and lost, the great orators and the dumb alike. Salvation is simple and God's word is plain, and he doesn't need our help to complicate the matter or limit salvation to only the "elect" who can speak. God is not willing that any should perish but that ALL (deaf, dumb, rich, poor) should come to repentance. How? by believing from the heart and confessing with the mouth the Lord Jesus. AMEN!!
