When you made gold, it did not look like it. It looked like yellow because you took too much yellow and you added like nine skin tones, but I like the colour mixing.
Honestly for gold, it’d probably just be better not to waste paint and add a tiny bit of blue and red to yellow XD

add yellow then blue for green,
put some red too
then abuse some yellow to get gold

Joshua u should use Magenta, Yellow & Cyan & u will get a wider range of colors. U can even make Red from Magenta & Yellow. U can Also make Blue from Magenta & Cyan & Of course u get Green from Cyan & Yellow except it will be a light green not a dark dull green which comes from mixing Blue & Yellow! So if u want to mix a light vibrant green use Cyan & Yellow instead of Blue & Yellow!
Yes that is true. But actually it depends to the person's needs if he is already satisfied to basic colors from red yellow and blue. But yea, it is a better practice to use Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow instead
Actually too, the Cyan and Magenta pigment is very rare to find that is why most of artists or users like him might not have those set of colors
I’m a math person and have the hardest time with color. Can anyone tell me the names of a magenta, cyan, and yellow acrylic paint to buy from Folk Art, or another easy to find brand? I can’t even get out of the gate! Thanks so Much!

*Do not* add black to your skin tones to make them darker. all it does is make them look gray and dead. Add purple or something with an undertone.

An artist wouldn’t lie about making realistic skin colour because of racial factors, would they? I’m sure adding just black to make darker shades doesn’t create the desired outcome, so they used what actually works.

Exactly.
I have yet to meet a person that's truly white or black or brown. There's either a warm(yellow) or a cool(blue) or sometimes red/pink undertone. This is helpful knowledge for us gals to choose the right foundation shade.
As an artist, can confirm, color theory is weird as hell and just ‘adding black’ actually tends to just give you a more grayish-black muddy tone of the original color
