- Having a bit of fun exploring leather effect, I hope you enjoy
Things you will need alongside basic clay tools:
I used leather effect in black
Paper for stencils
Mica powders etc...
Stud for fastening
28gge copper wire ( 12-5 inches)
Varnish ( I used fimo)
copper paint
bottle and cane for shaping and baking
*texture

Could you provide the link for the fastener you used? I have been using the snap fasteners you have to hammer in - they work great too but this seems to be much easier … 😊. Thank you 😊

So pretty!! Would you mind if I asked for your advice? I'm looking to make a necklace out of the Fimo Leather and it needs to have a little bit of flexibility to get on and off (not a lot, just a touch- I'm going to put a wire through it to hold it's shape). Do you have any suggestions with painting it? Originally, I thought I'd just bake it to shape and then paint it with acrylics, but now I'm a little worried that the paint might crack when taking the necklace on and off. And then, of course, there is the matter of sealing it. Would you recommend sealing it at all, or would the seal crack? Thank you in advance!
Thanks, if I'm making a piece, I'm happy to use mica or paint, but I would seal it. A matt varnish or even kato liquid clay layer on top should work.
