My advice for gym newbies - my first day (or two!) at a new gym, I keep it SUPER SIMPLE: 1) I walk around the entire place to get familiar with the space 2) I do ONE THING that I’m comfortable with - like stick myself on a treadmill for 20 minutes 3) I stretch for 5 minutes in a spot that I picked out on my walk through THEN I LEAVE! This establishes the gym as a safe place for me to be fully aware of/competent in my body, and in control of what I do with her - including leaving when I want to. Gyms can be uncomfortable at the beginning, but if you’re looking to establish a long-term habit do your best to associate it with a positive experience! 💛
can i please add 1 thing to this excellent list?? 4) Even if every sense in your body is telling you that everyone is watching and judging you, remember that absolutely NOBODY actually cares lol you do you
Also for anyone nervous about the gym: consider hiring a personal trainer! It’s totally normal to hire a trainer to meet just a few times, and you can usually request a female trainer/whatever gender you’re looking for. You’ll learn new exercises, gain a friend in the gym, and get some tips on how to use equipment/weights/etc. Most gyms have them on staff - just ask the front desk for rates/availability.
People in the comments saying this video was over sponsored need to stop- she’s earning her dollars- I love it! Also it’s a product that’s up her alley right now and it related to the video. Also I saw a couple thin-shaming comments which is as bad as any other kind of body shaming. Not every thin person has an ED nor do they have to show their audiences any of it publicly if they do. Lastly, no one should be watching an influencers videos thinking they are the final expert on something, if you disagree about her comments to do with bulking up just think maybe that’s her experience?!
you’re videos are always so aesthetically pleasing! Also my husband and I are french and always trying to find good bread cause nothing compares to french bread! But I looked up tartine and I see they have one in santa monica! Will definitely go buy their bread and try it!! ☺️
I have been watching you for so many years and I have had the chance to watch you transform into such a light. It’s clear you are in such a happy phase of your life praying that you continue on this path!! Lots of love💕💕
Love your videos missed this kind of format !! Also quick note I wanted to add for viewers that ARE watching that might think having higher than one pounder is going to make you bulk up don't worry it won't , you can go as high as your body can handle as long as you're not actively adding to those weights with each rep it will tone your body as well. Obviously do you, I'm just letting those know who might be where I used to be which was scared of higher weights during a work out because I never wanted to be "bulky"
- Yess! I love your commitment to both your Physical and mental health Claudia! Sometimes I get so focused on learning Japanese and working that I forget to take care of myself so this was the perfect reminder I needed to slow down and Focus on my health 💛
claudia i cant explain how helpful and motivating this was. ive been having a very bad relationship with food and my body lately and this really opened my eyes to a new perspective on fitness. THANK YOU
We gotta be careful glamorizing “shredded” bodies because in reality that means a really low body fat which is typically not achieved in a health intuitive way ❤️ You have a big platform Claudia! Please encourage people to have goals based on how they FEEL or how they make others feel. A goal like: feeling stronger (you mentioned this- great!), or being more loving/being more forgiving etc. Being toned or shredded is missing the mark
Sophie, what if she FEELS like she wants to be shredded though? If that’s not your thing, great, that part of the video does not apply to you. Policing what other women choose to do with their bodies is unnecessary either way. Few things in life are achieved in an intuitive way (like getting a law degree, paying a mortgage, 401k’s) but some people pursue them because they matter to them. And who are we to tell people what should matter to them? Would you scold her for talking about owning her house because it’s sets “unrealistic expectations” for the rest of us? I’d hope not! So why is talking about her body goals so problematic? Also, would we ever see a comment like this on a man’s video? Why is it that women are suddenly tasked with being role models for all other women?
Lucy It’s problematic because diet culture and eating disorders are harmful and life-threatening and anyone her size that is saying their goal is to be shredded, is innately suggesting smaller bodies are more valuable. It’s one thing for her to have a goal for her physical appearance privately- and to work through that on her own. It’s another when it’s being shared on a huge platform- that’s what’s problematic. A message is being sent to lots of people that smaller is better. Women have been forced to take up less and less space societally. It’s our job to start these conversations so we can come together and take our power back from those profiting off womens insecurities. Our bodies are the least interesting thing about us!! And yes- I would feel similarly if a man was giving this advice, men suffer from disordered eating and negative self-image as well. However, men have not been historically impacted by diet culture in the same way women have. Thanks Lucy!
My friend works as an Eating Disorder/Mental Health Coach and she's convinced Claudia has an issue with eating/body dismorphia as she shows a lot of Pro-mia/ana traits. Like how her insta posts always centre around her showing off how skinny she is. Im worried about her tbh
would love to see your channel go in a more health and wellness direction! I want to make similar changes to my lifestyle and i’d love to keep seeing what you do as guidance and inspiration
Your videos are super inspiring, I’d like to prioritise my mental health after dealing with much anxiety these last few years. I’ve started meditation which has really helped me a lot, and just trying to compliment myself more and appreciate the good parts about myself. Would you consider yourself to be spiritual? And do you believe in manifestation? It’s something I’ve been incorporating into my life that has just overall made me happier and I’ve just felt in higher spirits recently.
I feel the same way as you! I’m not ritualistic about it but it definitely feels good to take some quiet moments, write some positive sh*t down and allow myself to carry through that.. it’s all about whatever makes you feel good
@@ClaudiaSulewski Thanks for the reply! Yeah I definitely love to write positive things down. Journaling has definitely become one of my regular things, I've always loved writing and I find it really relaxing to just write my feelings down on paper rather than telling someone so I don't feel any judgment. It's crazy how doing just simple things like these can make you feel so much better in general ❤️
I tried all kinds of diets and exercise and I agree with you, light weights, lots of reps and eating whole foods, avoiding restrictive diets ♥️ thanks for being honest I appreciate it, it took me 10 years to learn these things and I love that you share it with your audience ♥️ I respect you so much ♥️
Weights won’t make you bulky. Weights will get you toned. You would have to eat in a major surplus to get bulky. Also women don’t have the testosterone to bulk up easily. I highly recommend incorporating weights more than 1lb. You seem misinformed and I really hate the spreading of fear on this topic
Agreed. She likes (has to) stay extra thin for Finneas and that CA standard. I look back at her older videos and she looks great with those few extra pounds.
Your videos are THE ONLY THING on ALL UA-cam that my adhd ass can watch in normal speed instead of 1.25 because I really want to enjoy very single second. Thanks and cannot wait for the next one

I really appreciate you preaching about having sweets in the house. I was wondering if you had any thoughts into how weight can influence how others perceive one's wellness journey. For example, many people in larger bodies do get negative comments within the gym even if they are minding their own business with their headphones in. Even if I didn't agree with everything you said, I still enjoy your videos and appreciate this dialogue. If I had to give any advice- the gym isn't your only option! explore joyful movement and do what feels good! this might sound a little cliché, but doing something enjoyable such as yoga, a sport, or going on a walk, and eating enjoyably is the most sustainable thing you can do for yourself. :)
I literally can never get enough of your videos. I can have an awful morning and put on one of your videos and it never fails to redirect me and ground me. I wish you could post every day😂 but since you can’t…. What channels do you watch to redirect you???? Love you!!!
Thanks for the comment about the approach to sweets/treats. I'd only get a little as a kid and later as a teen/adult was taught repeatedly that any sugar/carbs and snacking is basically evil. Definitely don't do that. I'm learning to eat more consciously and I can have a bit of sugar/treat on Thurs or Friday. Also love Mangoes too.
I LOVE your answer to the sweets question! I think overall I have a pretty good relationship with my body and food and the gym, but I just love ice cream and sometimes I wonder what I’d look like if I just didn’t eat it every day, and it’s just such a good reminder like why cut out something that makes you happy! You only get to be on this earth once:)
i loved your answer about trying to commit to things! i've been facing problems with commitment to different activities, and so i think remembering why you decided to start would be a great way at trying to stay motivated. loved this video! do you think you will make one similar to this one but with mental health? love you!!

Plus, it takes less time at the gym. Either way, if you're going to exhaustion each set and using proper form then you should be good. Separately, your comments on keeping track of rest days and muscle groups you exercise, why not just set a weekly workout schedule so things stay balanced and you don't have to plan/think about what you're going to do every day? A lot of people favor a weekly schedule of: legs, push(chest, shoulders, triceps, medial delts, etc.), pull (back, lats, posterior delts, biceps, etc.), cardio, legs, push/pull, rest. Those are just my thoughts. Why not make things as easy as possible so they're easier to stick to?
