@Reese B I think it just depends if your a bible believer or not. If you are, then you don't believe in divorce. If you aren't then obviously divorce is not a big deal. But they are both at fault for not discussing it before they got married.

I don't want kids. I have never wanted kids. I got surgically sterilized. By the 3rd date (if not sooner) I ask if the prospective partner would want kids. If they say yes, it is over. Period.

It's smart to make sure that you can support kids before having them. I wish everyone did, then there would be less kids going hungry. But in this case, like Dave said, money is NOT the problem. You guys are way further ahead than most couples that have kids. I think she is just using excuses for not having kids, which should have been a discussion long before marriage.

She doesn't have a job at 30 years of age. She can easily be a stay at home mom and with her husband's salary, they shouldn't have any financial problems with bringing children into their life. She probably loves her freedom and realized how much work it would be to raise a child. She probably wanted to have kids before marriage but now that she's realizing how good she has it, sooo why add on any additional responsibility. To each their own.

Speaking from experience kids are expensive but my household income is only a $100K with both of us working and we live a comfortable life.
My guess is there’s something else going on. I was admittedly not ready for kids when my son was born but he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
I think a real heart to heart conversation needs to be had, even if by way of therapy. Did she change her mind about having kids (if ever she did want to have any)? Maybe hearing friends complain about how different their little ones have made their lives/marriage has changed her perspective on having a child of her own. Maybe meeting up with a finacincial advisor to show graphs and such that chart how children do change the financial trajectory of your income but how you can plan for that and readjust the numbers to accommodate for kids and still be financially successful. I hope and pray the best for this couple.
Some times you are just very scared of the pregnancy/labor and newborn process. She could just feel very scared of that.

Did I miss the part where he stated how much debt they have (if any)? Are they debt free or do they have a ton of debt? Making $130k/yr is not equivalent to being good with finances/money. Maybe they spend money as fast as they make it. Maybe someone has a spending problem (gambling, drinking, shopping, etc.). There are a lot of details missing with this call. Maybe she has valid concerns.

My husband & I didn’t have our 1st child until we was married 5 & 1/2 years. But we were on the same page & wanted to be more stable before we have kids. Sounds like she is not ready- he may be but both have to be on board. He needs to have a discussion with her & find the real reason.

I live in the Bay Area, and to have the same cost of living out here, you need to earn around 259k. So it's definitely not the money.

I have heard of people in trailer parks who probably consider spam or Alpo, exquisite dining, have multiple kids(130 is enough to live anywhere).
Doesn’t look good for the relationship in my opinion. I’d imagine this conversation was had many times through a 5 year period leading up to this point. Now she seems to be hesitant. If I was him I’d be looking for the exit door right now before it costs him even more.

my ex brother in law wanted to have a second kid with my sister. She wanted to divorce him but wanted to get her finances in order first. Once she finished her nursing degree, she divorced him and left. He never got a second kid and is in his early 50's.

she might have concerns about morning sickness, Dr appointments, labor, or any of the medical also. Ive had hyper morning sickness with alot of my pregnancies. pregnancy and labor are not easy. throw in c sections which is major surgery. there is alot to worry about. then even finding childcare after when everything is already booked in some areas.

The modern work environment requires workers to change jobs every couple of years to increase salaries. I would ask the woman if she honestly wants to be married. If she does she needs to start behaving like it or get divorced
This show is not at its best when the callers asking for advice about relationships. He need to see a family psychiatrist . I am surprised the person who does the screening allow the caller to air his problem. Very irresponsible. At least have Dr. John on show if you going have this type of caller.

I watch for entertainment purposes.. but the caller have a serious issue, and he need to speak with a professional.
