Exactly. I think It can get quite competitive starting up a new gym as well, It's the same with every new business there's already many of. Most people that are into going to a gym and workout usually already have a membership somewhere else, so what can Ironforge offer that their current gym can't? Longer membership contracts with lower prices? I could be down to sign for that, everyone wants to save money. And It's also like Miz says, they have great marketing online, but basically nothing to catch people's eyes that are in the area. Get that up and running and more people will most likely show up. They clearly want to make the gym profitable as fast as possible. the problem is you can't really force that even with the marketing power they have. Rn the focus should be finishing the gym because realistically even if they get one person to sign up a day. If it's more than the amount of people that cancel the membership that day their income has increased andover time it will translate into profit. even if on average 2 people a day sign up on average over the next 6 months it's still a considerable amount of money they will be making by the 6 montgh mark they wanna be succesful way too fast. most companies are not profitable the first year. and let's be real twitch marketing for a gym will not translate into members. edit: now that i'm deeper in the video...they didn't even think to advertise locally until this moment?? wtf.
Something that Miz should do regularly is get friends and people he knows to find and use the gym and write up a feedback form. From finding the gym, signing up, using it, using the showers, have them fill in a report of their experience to weed out problems from the users perspective. So many service businesses fail the basic test of having a good customer experience and only look at their company from the perspective of managers, not users. They miss things, like the showers not having anywhere to hold your shampoo, or to hang clothes, or being hard to find, or the sign up process being annoying, simply because they've never used the facilities and never get candid feedback from those that do.
They should open up the gym to online membership. Like you can sign up online. Tons of people will sign up who don’t live in the area and just never come.

IDK why they're not having an online membership where people get access to videos with workout routines that people can do at home, nutrition counseling/information, etc. Almost like a nutrition/health/workout Masterclass or Patreon, but exclusive to the people that have access to the Ironforge online gym membership. They could charge $25-$30 and be able to capitalize on their entire online audience.

They aren't legit opened yet, and idk why but it is all rushed. Maybe they went way overbudget and wanted to at least farm it before the launch and then have a business, which is a good idea if it wasn't for the fact that they are very irresponsible and have no idea how to do anything.
Imagine anyone else in this situation. They'd be going around meeting the members, meeting with other surrounding businesses speaking to people passing by. They'd be doing every little thing they could. But its pretty clear these guys don't really want to put the physical work in. Thats why there is 4 people in a room with the door closed and talking about taking action but not doing it. They already have a huge advantage over other new business owners and will still probably be okay. But it's crazy how they can talk so much, but do so little. They're still more worried about streaming than working on the success of the business. Hence why Robs apparently annoyed with them.
They have tons of viewers for marketing, but it's kind of useless if 99.9% of their audience will never be in the area or EVER go to a gym, period. Probably gonna have to give this one some time and a bit of local marketing efforts. I'm sure they'll be fine, but it has to be stressful. GL peeps
You've got a tunnel entrance that leads to your gym. Ironforge has a tunnel that leads to the city. You should make that tunnel into something similar that will draw ppl in.
@bormz7191 yeah they could still setup at least big cardboard cut outs to make it look like the entrance to Iron Forge. Could be sick. Or foam inserts. Just nothing permanent
Why not just make it disneyland? Howabout the PT's wear dwarf costumes and the bar music plays in the reception. It's a gym bro, not a computer game.@@DarkSleuths
You got the spot, you got the vision. Be patient try and smell the roses keep it up Mizzy. You’re doing good the clarity will come as it always does. Keep your head up and work for it. For you. One step at a time.
The main problem I would have with the Gym is just the streaming thing. Gyms are great to let out the everyday work-life stress and from a personal standpoint, I dont really need to be seen by 20k+ people while sweating and focussing on my workout. Maybe they already adressed that or they have certain rules for their stream, I dont know. + the gym is still young, as enough people already wrote here.
What’s interesting to say the least are your packages. Everyone knows you can get a gym pass, show up and work out. What if you’re someone who needs or wants more guidance? You have packages lined out for a more mma centered focus, but what about regular people that just want to get in better shape and look better? Why not create a package more inline for people of those needs?
You guys need to 1000% get on local tv and radio. Idk if there js a good morning austin like there js in la but that is the ticket to getting people in that area to start coming to the gym
I think the best way to get customers is to advertise with discounts. for example "first 100 members gets 3 months free" you will get people. You have to beat gyms around you.
Lean into the fact that you can film and take pics at the gym. That is the one thing that differentiates you from other gyms is that it is encouraged there. Have cool spots for people to pose. Some people will sign up just for that and probably hardly workout.
Get TVs and play actually interesting stuff on them, powerlifting competitions, sports, exercise techniques, hell even video games. If you’re gonna charge a high price, find cheap ways to make the experience unique and homey. That’s the best way to get people to pay extra. Give them a reason to think it’s worth extra.
Maybe at the grand opening in a few months. From what I've heard the price now is the cheapest in the area so it's definitely worth in the 20 30 minute radius.
You need to get in the newspaper, you need to sign up for ads for people who still do television, you need targeted ads on social media for people who live in the area on social media apps. Give people a sign-up bonus of a additional month free and have a limited time paper raffle in-person at the front desk of the gym where people who sign up for 1 month in-person have a chance to win 12 months for free, that would give people incentive to actually come into the gym every day. You need regular customers.
You need to assemble a team of recruiters to home shows / fitness specific shows and hand out flyers, sign up sheets, with a picture board and showcase. Do a raffle for 1 free year to a lucky winner and have people sign up with their email, phone, etc to push advertisements. You can set up anywhere there is a vendor slot you can reserve to promote. Especially if you do it in areas where people naturally go to exercise like local events at parks and what not.
Wrap your cars or have a print on the side of your car with the gym name/address people in the local area will see it = more members (especially if you do it on a nice car like mizzs r8 or emi's car)
for marketing they need to flyer the closest 3000 houses, multiple times, like once a month for 3 months. Say 10000 small flyers and teams of people letterboxing the local area, marking off where they have done on a shared map. Forget 3 people, you need to hire or recruit a team of 10 people to hand these out, 300 houses each over a whole day once a month, it's not free but necessary. They should have been doing this in the weeks before opening, but doing it now is fine too. Local people want to know about the new gym, people want to sign up to a gym within walking /jogging distance preferably. You're going to have to offer and advertise free trials, local people need to try out the facilities before signing up. You probably need to consider coming in with a lower price to get started too. Or doing a special new gym promo price for signing up. You gotta start getting it full, so people tell their friends and it grows organically. They don't need to worry about a unique selling point other than that the gym is new, it has new equipment and isn't over crowded. That's everything most people look for in a good gym. Their no.1 problem right now is that locals that will use the gym don't know they exist and free trial campaign will solve that.
I think starting a gym is an amazing thing, and I am so fucking stoked ya'll did it. I'm sure business will come, but reguardless it is something that I think will really be fulfulling in the long run. Listing some ideas that may be beneficial, because I want to see nothing but success for you guys. - Set up incentives for college and highschool kids to join, and have someone go to local places to give out T shirts and stuff for kids doing stuff like Pull up competitions, races, or even sponsering Power lifting meets. This is something not only a lot of gyms do, but the milltary also does. - Get other internet personalities in the fitness community to come workout - Higher someone to go to local business's and offer limited time offers like 0 dollar sign up fees if they start a membership ( LA fitness and Crunch both do this) - Make sure other streamers don't make it an undesirable enviroment otherwise you will have nothing but freeloading millionaires using it - Do community events to make people feel welcome like free food for members every once in a while, live events people can watch or participate in, and fitness workshops for people that are hesitant to come in on their own, etc. - Charge your friends so they are incentivised to go and not just use the space for content
25% off for nurses, police, firefighters and 10% off relatives of workers, Student prices, college prices, Flash sales, zero joining fees, fast food outlets and offer them discounts for sponsorship. prizes/draw entries for joining. bright ass neon signage and a shit tone of Facebook ads for the area and surrounding suburbs. works in Australia.
They should really give discounts to students who can prove they are studying. They will really populate the gym thus creating a snowball effect by spreading the word that its actually really a good gym. As others have mentioned the gym itself isnt finished, need music ( even tho myself i always go with earphones but most people dont), mirrors and maybe pose room if its not there. Pose room is also good for the fact that some may post photos of themselves and tag the gym or the location.. More people know that the gym exists. Deals with local bussines for their workers to have free membership. Id say within 2 weeks if its finished you would actually start to see people come because not everyone is going to trust a brand new gym and are reluctant of spending money on it. First you need to build good report.
Would be a good idea for miz and knut to work on the front desk off stream. Actually getting stuck in , greeting customers , and getting direct feedback is key.
You need to hire people to work on the areas falling short. Ie. Marketing manager, graphic designer, web manager, a solid handyman who can do it all/most. After a year if you’re still growing and growing then you hire a cfo and start taking the secondary steps after you’ve become established. Just a few steps in starting any successful businesses
Like 2-4 times a year, you could give people a 1 week free training voucher, but they have to give their details, so you can track that. Gyms here in South Africa do that. Send out small teams to sign people up or give them a training voucher. Just an idea
A gym that size, and with Austin prices, would certainly need 1000+ members to be profitable. They have 150 after a couple days, so they've got a ways to go. Else it'll be closed in a couple years. Using your combined Twitch bases as an advertising platform doesn't matter when >99% of your viewers don't live in one city.
they need an attractive retail storefront sign along with those opening banners and a clear indicator of the entrance of the gym if allowed by the landlord, if i see some tapestry hanging up im not inclined to take the place seriously, the size of the gym is la fitness but its being advertised like a local 1000 sqft gym. also those blank walls have been so horrible to look at hire a graffiti artist or something for the love of god. those are my two suggestions
True, that’s annoying the elloutta me. Those pictures were so spiteful. It’s like, hello, this isn’t a video game Knut this is a physical business, stop ****ing it up and realize where you’re needed. Just because you’re not a majority stake doesn’t mean your actions won’t eff up the whole thing. Be a hands-off partner.
i think you all need to understand that knut and miz are bringing in the customers. I'm pretty sure Robb's title would be GM (yes i know hes an owner too) and Miz and Knut could be seen as hands on investors. 100% Robb has experience and he already knew he doesn't expect them to help with a lot of the physical installs of the equipment and finish building rooms. He's trusted them and expect them to bring in a lot of memberships while he handles the operations.
If i lived near, i would go there, just so the gym layout hurts me and then sue. There can be NOTHING behind the treadmills for atleast 5 feet. Most machines have to be facing walls, so the falling location is just flat floor. Imagine you fall off the treadmill and get stuck between the machines and it's scraping your skin off.
Y’all could reach out to a bunch of fitness UA-camrs, instagram girls and collaborate with them. Have them in stream, there has to be a ton a clout chasers that will show up…good luck yo guys will succeed it’s just a rough time of the year to start up a gym. Most people already have there membership for the month with the beginning of the new year
like legit it normally takes a lot of time for a gym to get more members, your already at 150+ it normally takes any other gym far longer to even get that many members.....
A small percentage of viewers live close enough to go. A small percentage of that percentage even work out. Have to market more to locals who probably dont even know what twitch is.
You need some designs on the walls and such inside the gym. It feels so bland and dull, almost makes me feel awkward if I were to lift in there. Also, Knut is right that music would help in there.
I love how much Miz tries to give new ideas and how hard Rob is working behind the scenes. Knut is just making it seem like a joke and meme, most likely as he hasn't invested the money like Miz or effort like Rob.
Target schools and colleges. Do some deal if a student invites a friend they get like a discount or some shit. Maybe let schools use your gym for like training if there is any nearby. It gives great coverage. Y'all will do it I believe 👍
Gotta make the entrance more appealing than the lame 70's graphics. Need to display the logo at the entrance and make it look cool and inviting, maybe some neon lighting.
think of yourselves as a theme park, you have to make people want to keep coming back, i can lift heavy things anywhere, but there is only one gym in the world where i can do the " Camp Knut Challenge " When i sign up as a member you take my height, weight, photos of my physique if appropriate, you give me a work routine that is well thought and would benefit anyone who takes it on, then it's down to me to improve, over whatever time i have. maybe there is a free "Camp Knut" t-shirt when i tick every thing off my list if it took me 110 days or 3 years ? Once a year (for content) you could hold a "Knut Off" between all your biggest improvers ? some kind of mini strongman contest. The content is unending if you just frame it correctly.
you should make the picture on the website of the gym after you put the machines in right now its before you filled it and it has trash bags and shit on the floor lol, I will say i really like the website some gyms just do not present information well but your site is very clean and straighforward
Price is high, period. Gyms in my city are 35-25 for even more amenities than what you offer. It also seems that your gym is catering to streamers, which will pull away customers that don't want to deal with the tripods and films. There are people in my area that pay extra to avoid that shit for real. Fix that website up, and just be a face, businesses don't grow overnight. Best of luck!

Get someone from OTK to stand on the corner with one of those dancing arrows. I nominate Russell. 😂
They have tons of viewers for marketing, but it's kind of useless if 99.9% of their audience will never be in the area or EVER go to a gym, period. Probably gonna have to give this one some time and a bit of local marketing efforts. I'm sure they'll be fine, but it has to be stressful. GL peeps
When I go to the gym I dont like cameras pointing at my face
You've got a tunnel entrance that leads to your gym. Ironforge has a tunnel that leads to the city. You should make that tunnel into something similar that will draw ppl in.
they have a lease to the interior not the whole damn outside lol
@@Siikesz That can all be negotiated silly boy.
I’ve been to a lot of top tier gyms and they never been more then 20-30$ so for a discount to still be 45$ is somewhat crazy
Need to give free memberships to hooters workers. The girls will bring members in passively
Genius
This guy made me laugh at how dumb and smart he is
What’s interesting to say the least are your packages.
LMAO can you imagine Mizkif on morning TV? That would be great
Its a Streamer gym at this point & no one joining a gym is wanting to be filmed working out
Dude.. its a joke title. They got ton of customers already, like 200+ in first 3 days. They gonna hit 1k in a month easy.
Speak for yourself.
@@palladdzoIts online customers who will never ever go there. Real customers who actually go there is probably less than 20
I think the best way to get customers is to advertise with discounts. for example "first 100 members gets 3 months free" you will get people. You have to beat gyms around you.
Man, this gym is missing mirrors.
Good.
there's a room inside with a bunch
I think not having it in front of the squat racks is a huge miss. Easily fixed but I'm assuming annoying to do since the equipment is there already
Lean into the fact that you can film and take pics at the gym. That is the one thing that differentiates you from other gyms is that it is encouraged there. Have cool spots for people to pose. Some people will sign up just for that and probably hardly workout.
miz opens a gym and instantly spawns a broccoli head haircut.
@@ripandtearmaybe, I looked up golds gym memberships in Austin and found them for around $35 a month
In Austin gyms are like $100 a month usually lol
You need to get in the newspaper, you need to sign up for ads for people who still do television, you need targeted ads on social media for people who live in the area on social media apps. Give people a sign-up bonus of a additional month free and have a limited time paper raffle in-person at the front desk of the gym where people who sign up for 1 month in-person have a chance to win 12 months for free, that would give people incentive to actually come into the gym every day. You need regular customers.
Knut has practical solutions, Miz needs to learn to get his hands dirty if he wants to run a business
He needs to be first in gym and the last one that goes home. every fu**** day.
Especially if you do it in areas where people naturally go to exercise like local events at parks and what not.
its really cool to see the Pepes actually being smart humans its weird in a way but really cool
- Get other internet personalities in the fitness community to come workout
- Higher someone to go to local business's and offer limited time offers like 0 dollar sign up fees if they start a membership ( LA fitness and Crunch both do this)
- Make sure other streamers don't make it an undesirable enviroment otherwise you will have nothing but freeloading millionaires using it
- Do community events to make people feel welcome like free food for members every once in a while, live events people can watch or participate in, and fitness workshops for people that are hesitant to come in on their own, etc.
- Charge your friends so they are incentivised to go and not just use the space for content
25% off for nurses, police, firefighters and 10% off relatives of workers, Student prices, college prices, Flash sales, zero joining fees, fast food outlets and offer them discounts for sponsorship. prizes/draw entries for joining. bright ass neon signage and a shit tone of Facebook ads for the area and surrounding suburbs. works in Australia.
gymshark, young la flash meets
If people know the gym is being ran by twitch streamers recording everything it probably makes them feel uncomfortable to go in the first place
Would be a good idea for miz and knut to work on the front desk off stream. Actually getting stuck in , greeting customers , and getting direct feedback is key.
Last thing you want in a gym is a bunch of high schoolers
What about cleaning the whole gym? Any Plan on doing that regulary? That thing will get messy in NO time.
so funny to see wizzy mizzy actually care, while knut does not give a f
LOL, so funny to watch. he is always grinning at every failure
Knut eating 2 slices of pizza at the same time opened a new gateway for me XD why have i never done that before XD
Miz should look at his competition and see if he is competing with, he really needs a business advisor.
True
Using your combined Twitch bases as an advertising platform doesn't matter when >99% of your viewers don't live in one city.
real test is during the grand opening in a few months whether it's packed or not.
maybe send out discounted trial subscriptions with every starforge pc, like a little leaflet
23:00 holy fuck, that gave me action movie connection vibes lol
The gym is naked, mizkif is part of it, the guy with the ponytail is the only one thinking, emily is excited even though miz is using her.
Bro i would go work out there in a freakin HEARTBEAT... keep the hustle up boys no sweat.. figuratively that is...
Im hyped for you miz, hope you doing great
you need unique LARGE sign for your business...if they cant see it, they won't know you are there. sounds like a lot but i know the sign business.
they need an attractive retail storefront sign along with those opening banners and a clear indicator of the entrance of the gym if allowed by the landlord, if i see some tapestry hanging up im not inclined to take the place seriously, the size of the gym is la fitness but its being advertised like a local 1000 sqft gym. also those blank walls have been so horrible to look at hire a graffiti artist or something for the love of god. those are my two suggestions
I think the main problem is knut . He's just there for the visa and to work out 😂
True, that’s annoying the elloutta me.
He's trusted them and expect them to bring in a lot of memberships while he handles the operations.
sadly that location doesn't look welcoming. people will ask, "theres a gym back here?"
600 hundred for the year! wtf. 45 a month should be 35 too. Pricing is gonna turn most people away when you can work out at home or colleges
They should have done some pop-ups around Texas. Or at least done some stuff to let the community know they were opening
i havent kept up to date. has there been a tour?
Most people already have there membership for the month with the beginning of the new year
Knut just wanted a statue!😂
like legit it normally takes a lot of time for a gym to get more members, your already at 150+ it normally takes any other gym far longer to even get that many members.....
I feel like this is the part that should have focused on before opening
A small percentage of viewers live close enough to go. A small percentage of that percentage even work out. Have to market more to locals who probably dont even know what twitch is.
MIRRORS IT NEEDS MIRRORS
I would sign up but the mma price isn’t on the website
get a billboard or something nearby
You need some designs on the walls and such inside the gym. It feels so bland and dull, almost makes me feel awkward if I were to lift in there. Also, Knut is right that music would help in there.
If you would have opened Iron Forge in Sweden I'd leave my gym and join yours
I love how much Miz tries to give new ideas and how hard Rob is working behind the scenes. Knut is just making it seem like a joke and meme, most likely as he hasn't invested the money like Miz or effort like Rob.
yo dead lift or squat 315 and you got 10% off member ship one time use just to start
Target schools and colleges. Do some deal if a student invites a friend they get like a discount or some shit. Maybe let schools use your gym for like training if there is any nearby. It gives great coverage. Y'all will do it I believe 👍
why would the general public want to pay 60$ monthly for a brand new gym that's never been heard of?
Gotta make the entrance more appealing than the lame 70's graphics. Need to display the logo at the entrance and make it look cool and inviting, maybe some neon lighting.
In this Video: 87 things that should have been discussed 6 months ago
I would totally sign up but my commute would be 1,400 miles.....one way.
advertise no cancellation fees and youll be poppin. most gyms are scam artists.
They can make an LED sign with iron forge
think of yourselves as a theme park, you have to make people want to keep coming back, i can lift heavy things anywhere, but there is only one gym in the world where i can do the " Camp Knut Challenge " When i sign up as a member you take my height, weight, photos of my physique if appropriate, you give me a work routine that is well thought and would benefit anyone who takes it on, then it's down to me to improve, over whatever time i have. maybe there is a free "Camp Knut" t-shirt when i tick every thing off my list if it took me 110 days or 3 years ? Once a year (for content) you could hold a "Knut Off" between all your biggest improvers ? some kind of mini strongman contest. The content is unending if you just frame it correctly.
*MEME GYM*
Lol funny broccoli hair 🥦
this feels like when lightning mcqueen was trying to get radiator springs on route 66 back on the map
Lmao very specific but I get you
Why are they discussing strats live? Isn't this supposed to be done off stream with the guy ROB?
you should make the picture on the website of the gym after you put the machines in right now its before you filled it and it has trash bags and shit on the floor lol, I will say i really like the website some gyms just do not present information well but your site is very clean and straighforward
Host a bodybuilding/fitness event?
dawg just get an address list/mailing list for the city and sent out flyers in the mail that there's a new gym
make Erobb train mma and they get the chance to fight him after a month you ll get thousands of people there XD
This is my favorite Sitcom.
if the gym idea fails just turn it into a giant indoor pickle ball club old rich people love that shit
Do a Meet and Greet and invite Alinity
