Sound: Wavelength, Frequency and Amplitude.

- NOTE: Subsonic and Supersonic are old terms and more commonly refer to speed rather than frequency. In modern use, “infrasonic” refers to frequencies below 20Hz, while “ultrasonic” refers to frequencies above human hearing.

KS3 Science video on sound. Topics covered: transverse and longitudinal waves, wavelength, frequency, pitch and amplitude
Notes:
Each wave is one pulse
The number of pulses is the same as the frequency, the amount of hertz, if there are 4 pulses then the sound is 4 hertz
The graph is measured in a certain time frame, for example in a one second graph if there were 4 pulses then it would be 4 pulses per second and a frequency of 4 hertz
If we have a longer wavelength then that means we have fewer pulses which means lower frequency and a lower pitch
If we have shorter wave lentgth it means we have more pulses which means higher frequency and higher pitch
Height of the wave tells us the amplitude
Higher amplitude means higher sound and vice versa

Honestly, did so much research and could retain anything. First 20 seconds you had me hooked and understood instantly.
Jesus loves you ❤️ ❤
Brilliant! I ploughed through many videos to finally find this. The others left out far too many steps! Many thanks. Will now pass this on.
This was so easy to understand and helped me with my school work, especially as I’m stuck at home :D
@Jose Miguel Becerra lucky im just here for fun
Well said

[4] But God’s mercy is great, and he loved us very much. [5] We were spiritually dead because of the things we did wrong against God. But God gave us new life with Christ. You have been saved by God’s grace.
Great explanation. Really dissect the frequency and amplitude of a sound wave.
Sir,Your explanation was very nice thank you
Fantastic video, Great explanation!
Amazing Explanation, great job! Thank you!
I must say that this video explains the concept of sound best among all the videos i have seen on UA-cam.....
Thank you so much for your help Sir ☺️
agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
superb explanation - this is so clear , Thanks a lot
Wow. Super explanation.keep it up sir.
Keep up the quality of your content it's really good I understood everything
This is an excellent video! Well done!
I think it would be interesting to see a comparison video of sound and light waves.

WELL DONE. excellent PRESENTATION FOR UNDERSTANDING THE BASICS
this is so helpful. Thank you!!
One of the best explainations.....very easy to understand
Thank you so much for your detailed explanation 👍
Beautifully done!
this video is a lifesaver🤧❤️
Thanks, and it's so easy & simple!
The content was great! Good work.......
Sir your explanation is very nice i understood it very well thankyou
Thank you for this. Helped.
I have a science test tomorrow, and I forgot my study book at school. This was a great It helps me understand. Frequency pitch, and amplitude so much better.
this was informative as well as entertaining and not boring....
@Adan GarciaP shutuP
Brilliant video. Great teaching here.
This was a really well explained video
I'm sorry... my ADHD is at it again but I started laughing at the, "I don't get it" at the beginning LOL
that was well explained. thank you!
Sir u explained it very well...tysm..it became easy for me to understand the concept..😊😊😊

Thanks sir for explaining soo well!!
This is very helpful for my assignment Thank you!!!
thank you. this helped A LOT
I appreciate your support and help in this video
Thank you so much sir ❤❤❤❤
Thanks very for the video, much appreciated.
You are the future...
Keep up the good work.
Very Informative and helpful
thanks Science Sauce very helpful!!!
Thanks to this video I can do my homework
Hand claps for this explanation it was beautifully...wait for it.... SOUND!!!! seriously man thank you
Thank you sir understood very well
Thank you!!!This is so helpful
very easy to understand, thanks!
awesome video.
This is fantastic. You’re really great at explaining and keeping us engaged! But I’m confused on wavelengths, im studying audiology and they say wavelength is one mountain top to the next, but yours starts on the middling and does a full mountain and valley. It’s twice as long and what my course would call a ‘wave cycle’ so now I’m really not sure which is right. Is it either?
Both are the same - if you pause the video and measure peak to peak, then measure midpoint to midpoint it will be the same length. Trough to trough also works. One cycle = one wave.
Thank you so much!!!
Thank u sir for explaining this
This was a very good explanation! Than you!
Hello, What would be a good question to ask for a second grade science fair project using the gummy bear wave machine in regards to sound? What kind of graphs could my second grader make? I was thinking to measure how fast the wave comes back to the starting point when we add energy to the wave machine. Repeat this procedure 5 times taking 5 gummies off each time until i reach the mid point of the gummy wave machine. What do you think?
can you please tell, how to generate a vibration sound of particular frequency & amplitude shown in the video (polystyrene particle test )
very helpful sir keep it up!
Thanks really healped
Sir
Thanks a lot!
Great video
You are really good at what you do!
Thanks!
best science video for this subject
Great explanation quite simple...
Thanks a lot sir 😊🙏🏻
You are outstanding teacher sir! Couldn't have explained this better. Thank you so much for such a great explanation.
Thanks. You’re welcome!
Thank you. So well explained.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much! Please make a video about different types of amplitude if possible
Thanks, mate. You just saved my day. Now my science test is not that scary anymore.. :D
Thank you for this video! The school videos couldn't explain t so i searched for sound and found this
Dude I'm so thankful for this video. This made my day . So easy to understand. Keep it up :)
Facts!
Ming blowing explanation... sir
Ur teaching is so good
Thank you so much tomorrow is my exsm and you help me in my exams
now I understood what sound frequency and amplitude mean . thank you so much
well done 👌
Awesome
Im going to get an air physio, it supposedly causes a vibration in the air which loosens mucus in the lungs... would this be a resonant frequency of the air vibration acting on the mucus increasing its amplitude and therefore vibrate harder which causes it to shake apart?
i think I WILL PASS MY PHYSICS QUIZ THANK U SIR KEEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Thanks a lot bro
Sooo since we can't hear the supersonic and subsonic what's the sound that can be heard by humans ear hear?
Easy to understand, well put, thank you!
Hey in my book there is that loudness is proportional to the square of the amplitude is it directly or indirectly proportional or we put it in equation as
L=A^2 ?
I would really appreciate if you answer my query
Keep it up. Really appreciate your efforts in video editing
I totally agree with this video ,it make my life booming and lighting forever

You’re welcome!!
Best explanation 🤗🤗
How is that I can put a whole song together in my mind .but there is no sound or vibration or frequencies bouncing in the air or eardrums? If sound is vibration only then what are thoughts or words in your mind?
Thanks a lot sir😊😊
very good video
Wow! Tysm this video helped me study for a test I was having in science.
same lol
Thankyou sir. 🙂🙂
Superb Video Sir I like Very much
Think you so much
that's awesome. The way you taught deserves more than a like. I will share it surely wherever needed.
Great explanation. Easily understood with examples
