Utter nonsense. You can repeat that as often as you want. Inflation would instantly accelerate if they would set it at 0% for example, how could it not, if money was free? The fed responds to inflation with the rate to COUNTERACT it. Inflation was literally 10% at one point, when the fed rate was not anywhere near that. With this understanding I’ve been taking lots of money in the market, no fear, no pain, all gain. At 0% there is no “free money”, a dollar just equals a dollar. But any positive % is most certainly “free money”, free money for people who already have money. I already have money, and a positive interest rate is giving me more money, for free.
