Dunno what's going on with the Audio issues sorry :(
Tip for superflat cities: if you can, try and find a pre 1.18 flat world file, that way the ground is at 0 instead of -60
True, that’s what happened to mine.
Or just do a customised superflat, if you have that option, so you can have whatever ground level you want.
Yeah, for Java that works great! Unfortunately bedrock doesn’t have that yet…
But it's no big deal!
@@zombieplays9bedrock actually used to have it on legacy edition, but then Microsoft decided to step in. Legacy edition was so much better.
Nice city! Some great advice, too.
Glad you enjoyed!
How about Ann Arbor Michigan?
@johndoe1252 what about it?
@@zombieplays9 Detroit is an abandoned city. I mean not REALLY, REALLY abandoned but the crime rate there is just a little to high up.
@@johndoe1252 The have some nice areas and some really bad ones too. it definitely has some variation.
This genuinely really helpful! I still want to make my door factory next to my neighborhood just for laughs though. Maybe everyone in that neighborhood would work there?
Well I mean if you wanna be a weird tyrannical mayor, technically there’s no rules against it. Might look at you differently after that tho. Jokes aside, I’m glad you enjoyed!
They wouldn't because they'd want the factory to shut down but I get your point there 😆
Tip: If you have CurseForge, you can make it look even more realistic with mods such as FramedBlocks and Paladin's Furnite. If you want to, you can even use real logos without maps with the Immersive Paintings mod. Chipped and Rechiseled also provided block varities to texture your house with the right color, and for Industry Areas, you should use my favorite mod, the Create Mod.
All of that can definitely help add some more life to Java cities!
If only this existed 3 years ago
Yeah I feel that
@@zombieplays9 also, if you created a superflat before the Caves And Cliffs update, you can build under the ground
@@AwesomeDrawer2017 yeah that’s what happened in my world
There is another tip on building a city in minecraft as well, that is how to get around?
Cars or Trains (Subway)?
I chose mine with a Railway, don't get me wrong, there are still roads, but the primary way to get around is by Subway
Love to see it when you upload updates. I love working on the world.
L I N K I N B I O 🥵🥵🥵
Oh no
just found your channel and i honestly love your content
It means a lot, Thank you!
Would you like to do an updated tour of our city world? I think it will help a lot of fokes with realism inspiration
I’ll take you up on that offer. Check ur DMs when you get a chance.
Nice tips. I will definitely use these in my city to make them even better.
I don't want to cause any beef but which city is better, yours or mine?
I'm glad you enjoyed! Which city is better is definitely a matter of opinion. Both cities use quite different styles. while everything in my city is a little bit oversized vs. the player, from what I've seen, many of your buildings are a little smaller. Which is a really cool style choice! Often many of my buildings turn out pretty plain/flat because of the scale and many of your builds don't have that problem. Really though, neither is better than the other because they are both very unique!
@@zombieplays9 I like the way how you said that. Your style is pretty unique when adding a downtown city with a beach. Mine is more located in the suburbs, because I’m from Illinois.
@@DJ_Gaming543 yeah I didn’t really have too much of a set climate for building and now some parts look weird. Probably most similar to east coast if I had to guess tho
Thanks for the advice! Even though i dont play minecraft as often anymore i still use the advice for a roblox game im making.
That’s a really cool use for the video! I’m glad I could help.
Very helpful! Thanks!
Glad I could help!
Very helpful thank you
glad you enjoyed!
you are duckin' underrated
That means a lot to hear. Glad you enjoyed!
I started building a City without any idea how to properly build one 😆. My only plan is to add command blocks to make it functional lol.
This actually help me, thankyou!
Very glad I could help! Good luck!
This will help me a lot thanks 🙏🏿
Glad I could help!
Nice city and very nice buildings, but there is a huge absence of greenery, eventhough there is space for it
The city is far from finished and that’s a huge project. Sometimes there are empty spaces waiting for builds first too. I work on different parts of my city depending on what I feel like at a given time, so sometimes some parts look a little worse
in java you can change the superflat depth easily on the presets section, where it says "2*minecraft:dirt" just change the 2 to whatever number
Yeah true. I forgot this existed on Java lol. I pretty much play on bedrock exclusively
Bro 1 or 2 years ago i started a city and i made a flat world but somehow i could dig as much as i wanted it was really deep
Assuming it was on bedrock, after the caves and cliffs update they lowered the minimum height to -64, meaning you have a significant amount of space below you.
"Like detriot with more brick buildings, oak trees, spruce trees and" *ad appears* so Detroit has ads apparently.
That’s a funny coincidence 😂 I didn’t do that tho. Still not monetized
If you're on Java, the superflat limitations don't really apply since you can make customized superflat worlds on Java. It's not as intuitive as it was on Legacy Console since Legacy Console provided you with menus to select blocks and to adjust how many layers of a selected block you want, but in Java you have to write all of that into a text input field.
Yeah I completely forgot about that when writing the script…
Great video
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed!
with a more modern and bright coloured city would you recommend brighter trees like oak birch and azalea?
You can totally use those! I would say tho it depends on what kinda climate your city has tho. Personally tho I’m not too big on the default oak and birch trees.
@@zombieplays9 Its a warmer climate kinda like your city, what trees do you use other than the ones you build for scratch
@@jvdgie8488 mine is more of a moderate climate. Gets both a proper winter and summer. Spruce are imo the best looking default tree. That’s why I used them so much. If you have a warmer climate and just need to make a forest, there’s nothing wrong with oak or birch. If you are looking for one tree to help decorate a lot, either build a custom one or use azalea. Again tho it all comes down to personal preference so do what you like. Just know that spruce are less common in hotter climates.
4:04 I agree nobody wants to live next to factories or places like that but if you want the true American spirit sometimes a highway or two doesn't hurt and adds a touch of realism if you feel me
True. Sometimes it can’t be avoided. It’s more of a general rule for building “nicer” cities. Still though, a lot of Lower income housing don’t have a choice and get built in shitty areas anyway
@@zombieplays9 Yeah it's more of a big city thing like in Philly or New York
Hi crib here i have a question Is this open to the common discord members? because I'd love to participate and help with building and designing the city I've been told by many people in your discord that I'm a great builder and that's only in survival imagine what I can do in creative
Hey Crib! I usually let people join when im streaming in the city, but I rarely open it outside of that. If you catch a stream i'd be happy to let you build.
@@zombieplays9 ok sounds cool when do you stream next
I don’t have an exact schedule but I usually stream some time between 5 and 8 pm est. I always announce on discord too.
what's the seed for 1:50?
Love!❤
Glad you enjoyed
The only problem that you mentioned that I have in my city is the road thing. Each of my lanes for a two way two lane road is one block wide. My two lane roads are two blocks wide, and my one lane roads are four blocks wide. (Also my cars are three blocks wide)
Yeah… that’s pretty narrow imo. For backroads sometimes that’s fine, but for mains it’s a bit small…
@@zombieplays9 Yes they are very skinny 😂 but they make them iconic in a way and I can squeeze in more buildings too lol
@@johnlarson1683 true, it can definitely help create a more stylized look to your city and make it easily recognizable
This is why i built medievel or aincent Roman or Greek cities because they adapt more to the terrain not like a skyscrapers and not in superflat
I personally really enjoy building in that style too. It creates some really interesting architecture for sure. Btw maybe you should consider joining Nations of War… 🤔
random aside 3 wide lanes is fine if you're going for a more Japense stylied city / freeway 4/5 feels very american to me lol
True. It definitely all depends on the scaling and styling you are going for. At the end of the day there are an infinite number of ways to build a good city and there is really no right or wrong.
I’m gonna go for super flat beacause of how much more height uou can get. I like to build 1:1 scale buildings and buildings like the empire state building will exceed the world height on a normal world because of the terrain being up higher up than the terrain of superflats.
That’s a fair reason to use superflat
I like the houses startin on 7:36…. Tutorial? Pls? 🤩
I might be able to help you out and make one down the road... We'll see...
I have been building a big town, it’s pretty good, but my only problem is I started the world 5 years ago and back then I used to only use my IPAD So it’s quite glitchy if i build big buildings, still works though
That’s really cool! You can upload ur world to realms using your free trial and then download the world on whatever device you want. That way you don’t have to deal with your laggy ipad. Hope this helped!
@@zombieplays9 of course that’s a good idea, thanks forgot about that 😅, good video btw, you have a new Sub
Glad you enjoyed 🙏
When creating a superflat world in Java, you can click "customize world", then "use presets", then choose "overworld" your superflat world will be 64 blocks deep
Yeah I always forget that exists on java
U from Detroit? The lions bro 😂, i was so mad when they lost to the 49ers, they never going to superbowl
😂 Nah I’m a greenbay guy and saw the perfect opportunity for some Lions slander lmao. I feel ur pain with the 49ers tho. Almost every year they screw us over.
Nice, but why aren't you playing on Java edition?
So I started my city on Minecraft Xbox, then something like 3 years later transferred to windows 10. I like how easy it is to have my friends join, and some of them play on Xbox still. I also really enjoy how high the tender distance can go, since it can go up to 96 chunks (though with my graphics card it only goes up to 76)
Personally what I do is use superflat and start it at y=0 by building in the sky and terraforming down, but this may not work for some
Because of how old my world is that’s actually how it is in my world naturally. Most people likely don’t need that much space under their city tho. The more space you have under your city, the less space you have over it.
@@zombieplays9 i have a mod with trains so I use a lot of the space for the trains and basements
@nocGD it’s probably good in that case. For me I still feel like with basements, sewers, and a metro it would still be too much space. All down to personal preference tho.
1:46 mfs like me with world painter😎😎😎😎
wow underrated…
Thank you!
@@zombieplays9 of course!!
I litteraly live in Detroit Broskey
W City, but as a packers fan, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to dis the lions 😂
you lost me with the lions slander
Go pack go 😂
The java players who can add more dirt and have mods😂
Make one for bedrock
For making a Minecraft city? All this is possible on bedrock as that’s what I actually use.
@@zombieplays9 yeah I get that, but it's a whole another story when you play it on mobile. So I was wondering you could help commands or other stuff to save time
@BlueCat16 hmmm ok so I have a video planned for Saturday already, but would it be helpful if I made a tutorial on how to do some basic commands next week? Or would it be irrelevant by then?
@@zombieplays9 I was just expecting some tips via comments but you are willing to make a whole video?!?? Yeah sorry if it messes your schedule. Thanks for whenever you are free to make the video.
@BlueCat16 I’ll see what I can do. In the mean time just learn the /fill command. It saves a ton of time!
WHERE THE f@ck İM GOİNG TO START
after yourve chosen where you want to start (superflat vs normal world), just build 1 house. Not a whole city, just one house. then once your done, build another. rinse and repeat. eventually after long enough you can start making low rises, then high rises. but just start with normal houses!
I think too much about roads and not enough about buildings.
That’s a cool problem to have tbh. I wish I had that. Most of my roads aren’t that good
