Do not see any defensive highlights, but his toughness and offensive rebounding mentality shows me that he has a motor, The Knicks just stole another solid prospect they’ll develop into a solid rotation, (if he can find a jump shot, or more confidence to get his shot off quick) a starter who will impact the game. Euro prospect, no college experience, which honestly is a plus in this day in age. Has been a pro since he was 17, now he’s 22. Mature, feisty on the court but quiet off it. Well this isn't against the NBA for 1 and for 2 ee saw a video of mitch sinking 10 for 10 from 3s from the elbow and top of the key yet we never saw him attempt 1 in the NBA I'm 4 years. Edey was shoting three's in his combine workout and making them easy. In game a whole lot different. Plus his offense looks raw, his touch isn't consistent on the floater which is why it hots the window a lot and the back or side of the rim. And he doesn't look like he has great control in the post. Almost always the bigger guy and yet doesn't really move anyone.
HOWEVER, is he really puts his head down and grinds that touch on the floaters and hooks he can be really good with them and if he spends time on his offensive game it may be a problem. He also has good hands solid catching the ball and avoids swipes from defenders when going up for out backs and dunks. If he was at any other team he may develop these skills. @@chrisboriqua8878 all he would have to do is play better than Sims.. a guy who scores 2 points per game. I’m pretty sure we can get more out of Hukporti than that.
I don't love all his picks, but I do like that he has a vision of which players he wants and then trades back to get assets if he's not sold on what's available. For most of 40 years NYK did not apparent homework with the draft, so they'd just pick Kenny Walker or John Thomas or Renaldo Balkman. No creativity. In the past the Knicks at best would just have picked Kolek and Dadiet 24 and 25. The end result is the same, but with no meat in the freezer just in case it goes wrong.
