I remember watching this live. I distinctly remember when Vince ended up tearing his quads, I knew something was wrong immediately and it didn't go to plan. My friend beside me thought the opposite - thought it was part of the show. This just goes to show that anything can happen live!
Oh yeah, that one rumble where Vince McMahon tore both his quads, hahah. That moment lives rent free in my head, when I think about the 2005 Royal Rumble.
@@TheKidMemo It was my 3rd ever, I watched WM3 with my grandpa back in 87, then WM19 the year prior was the first one I ordered myself as an adult...which was a great purchase imo, to see Stone Colds last ever match
I’m gonna keep suggesting it until it’s done: WCW Monday Nitro 4th January 1999, the Fingerpoke of Doom episode, and when they gave away Mankind’s title win on Raw the same night.
Easily has to be the most hectic and unintentional endings to a Royal Rumble ever, but who better to have in this scenario than the two faces of the brands at the time?
Anyone else wish they had just called an audible and gone off air with eh confusion and then made the writers pull an all nighter to figure out how to fix it the next night on RAW?
Bringing up once again March 26, 2001 was last nitro ever so I think we need to do ups and downs for that raw and nitro. Simultaneously. Just the episodes. Possibly on March 26 2021 for 20th anniversary!
McMahon botched that finish so hard. The cards aligned perfectly for a Cena vs Batista feud with the winner going to Mania. Instead of losing his mind Vince should have gone with the flow.
but both guys ended up going to mania to challenge for a world title. better solution would be both guys want to challenge jbl (cena because he hates jbl, batista cause hes still semi-loyal to triple h) so cena v batista gets set up at the next ppv with the winner getting to pick which title they want to challenge for and the loser taking the other then you keep all the fake jbl limo stuff from the original story, batista beats cena, finds out it was triple h all along and picks him boom done keeps most of the original plan, sets up both feuds with only 2-3 extra steps and one of those is a huge ppv main event for a B ppv
The 2005 rumble final 4 is my favourite because a year later all 4 men won their first world titles. I know it doesn't feel like it now lol but back then it was a real glimpse at the future and one of the last times wwe built new stars.
Can we have Retro Ups&Downs for the infamous NWA World Title Tournament from 27th August 1994? AKA The night Eastern Championchip Wrestling became EXTREME Come on Guys, so much history there..
The fact that Vince no sold the double quad tears for the most part was completely amazing...I couldn’t imagine the pain he was in (and I have chronic back pain due to a litany of spine issues)
I loved Simon Dean as well, especially the bit he did with Stone Cold where he made Dean drink a beer and then drank the protein shake or whatever and spat it out. Classic. XD
Batista and Cena Royal Rumble finish is actually one of the most iconic moments in wrestling history. Whoever was watching wrestling at the time in 2005 knows that was an amazing moment
Recommendation: WWE Monday Night Raw, Oct 10, 2011, the day that all the superstars and commentary team had started the night absent from the building due to a vote of no confidence of HHH. The show itself wasn't all that memorable, but the opening 20 minutes were pretty damn great.

Can we do summerslam 2009. It was the first pay per view I went to and the first one I'd ever watch. Also it has the climax of the epic story of Jeff Hardy and CM punk.
Superbrawl II Feb 92 Sting vs Luger ending Lugers disaster of a title reign. Solid undercard Pillman vs Liger, Arn Anderson and Bobby Eaton vs The Steiner Brothers.
3:38- wow wow wow wow, you can’t leave it right there! I know your just a wrestler and maybe you only care about wrestling but the first season of that show was beyond epic! And the final match of Griffin VS Bonner was without a doubt the best UFC match of all time (it may not be the best now. But I also stopped watching that around 5 years ago also)! And I went from a die hard Chuck Liddell fan to a devoted fan of Forest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar fan! And me saying that was the greatest match of all time isn’t just my opinion. It was so great that both of them got a contract!!! And if you watch anyone’s top 10 best UFC matches of all time I bet anything that matche will be on there!!! But it is kinda funny that Vince didn’t really think that was going to be a huge hit! But in my opinion the reason why that shows success was so awesome is because it brought the UFC to live tv and made it so people actually knew what it was!!! I love that! So much so, that if I had the time I would have wrote all of this in capitals lmao

Retro-Ups-and-Downs suggestion: No Way Out 2001. Mostly because of the awesome war that was Stone Cold vs. HHH in the 3 Stages of Hell Match.
Simon that impression of Snitsky & Heidenrich’s conversation was spot on ! Lmaooo i am crying out loud. So much heavy breathing 😂 😭

I propose a new rule Simon: once a month you select the most liked non-WWE/F event to do an ups and down on.
I feel like we need to fill up the "Worst PPV Board" now so I nominate nWo Souled Out for next week.
