I just noticed that the music snarkerer used for Saul's ending is the traveling theme from Xenus II. A fitting song for a man who finally reached boiling point
I returned to the original Brigand video seemingly every few months to experience the madness all over again. Ogres throwing cinderblocks, nukes connected to an NPC's survival, exploding invisible ninjas, the player being too short to grab items off of high surfaces, and woes of Tehsnakerer playing 2 characters that didn't spec into guns. Now there's a whole sequel to enjoy too.
As glorious a mess as this game is, there's...honestly a good reason that this kind of thing rarely if ever pops up. I love watching your strange, mystic, downright chaotic adventures through one man's substance fueled idea of how Deus Ex should've been done; but this sure as hell isn't my thing beyond that. Brian is a chaotic neutral game dev, and more power to him for that...at least from the other side of a firm pane of glass.
You know, i enjoy your videos for a variety of reasons, but a huge thing that helps with their rewatchability is that the volume is level. I can start one of your videos and be almost 100% certain that if I set the video to a specific volume, it will be fairly steady all the way through, without insane spikes like so many videos have. As someone who absolutely can't sleep without the sound of someone talking in the background, these are an absolute godsend. Like, they're interesting enough to keep me from just getting stuck in my head while trying to fall asleep, they have a stable volume all the way through so I won't get woken up by a loud spike, they're great! I owe so much of my sleep to your videos, especially this one and EVO, for some reason. 10/10 channel.

Brian certainly makes some interesting games, that one day I hope to play. Projects made my small teams can sometimes be a bit janky but they make up for it by being entirely under the control of a singular creator's vision, for better or for worse, but certainly for the interesting. Excellent video!
I honestly just love Saul Myers' intro. The nuclear explosion, the silence and the poster change before the strumming of the guitar and the beginning of his next adventure. Welcome back, Saul. Saul survived Realia, Covumbia, Oaxaca. Panama and the end of the world (again) is just another notch on the belt of the American sounding Frenchie.
I love how Saul stopped giving a shit, had a few and ended the world with Lee; Glasge Snapped so hard he broke reality and Jimmy was such a dissapointment that the girl he romanced turned on him and helped kill him the second she had the chance. As for the ending, I would have swapped Lee and Ozee, and have Lee be a bigger presence in the story. say that Ozee's ship was damaged by the fighting which is why there's a bunch of baroque on the coastline, they are protecting both Ozee who is in the city and the ship as it's been repaired. then the mission changes to the player having to destroy the ship and kill Ozee.
After N-th rewatch, this just hit me: is Lee's phone line a riff on Fallout 2's hint book? You know, the one you can find AFTER you beat the game and watch epilogue, that gives moderate exp bonus and a lot of hints about events you have lived through tens of hours ago.
@@Tehsnakerer After he played an integral role in _certain events in Yakuza 7 that I'll not speak of here because that video doesn't exist yet and I don't wanna be a douche_ , Kiryu retired to the irradiated wasteland of Panama for some quiet fishing time
I'm amazed at this entire project. I'm trying to play Brigand right now, between the tech issues and....you know Brigand it has been difficult. But seeing these games through your videos is fantastic. I am fascinated by this singular vision of game development, especially when comparing the two. Brigand is so eclectic and weird in its story, but with some miserable game sections. While Panama has some really great-looking gameplay moments, but with a blander story. Just when I watch your first video, I can feel the dread with all of those sections, but the Panama encounters look awesome. I'm really happy that Brian is making games, and to me is a great example of the still-living artistry in the industry.
its a great example of why a flawed but strong vision makes for a memorable experience more than a lot of the cookie cutter Triple-A games out there despite of the vast differences in budget and, well, technical quality. Then again even some of those big boy games come out almost as bugged and janky as this, just without the insane story to match.

Yeah this story feels, appropriately enough, like it was written by someone who was high and going from idea to idea as things went on. Interesting ideas, that aren't explored because a new idea has come along. Also may I say, it is so good to see the Man, the Myth, the Legend Saul Myers return as a major player character after his tragic nuclear accident in Oaxaca.
Oh my fuckin' god let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! The original Brigand video might be one of my favorite videos in the whole of youtube, can't wait to watch this later.
A game set in the chinese warlord era will be wild. We had the Christian Warlord who baptisted his troops with a fire hose and the famous dogmeat general.
Having watched the video twice now. Yep, it still holds up. I mean OAXACA is obviously more insane, but I like the three character perspectives from the start and how each character actually had a chance to complete the game (Games allowing for different builds to work is good. IDK why we can't just do that more often...). The gameplay seems so much better and more enjoyable, but the story is now ... whack. Despite the disappointment from the story I could easily tell you really enjoyed the game and it seems enjoyable. Especially when Glasgae broke everything with his almighty spears. Despite being a 2/3 "Average" score, Glasgae's adventure was my favorite. I do hope Saul finds his true happy ending in the next life.
My god, the followup video I have been waiting on for literally years is finally here. Thank you, Tehsnakerer. I can't wait to use this one to fall asleep to in the near future
Waited until I had a suitable meal to watch this with and, unlike the game as a whole for you, snake, this video did not disappoint in the slightest. Thanks for taking me down the Rabbit hole to jank land once more. And I’ll be honest, I was rooting for Saul to be able to kill Ooze, and shared the disappointment when that option was denied. Frankly I don’t understand why you can’t kill him there since what happens after feels incidental. Sure, he sends you after his sociopathic Sniper and you find out the doctor is planning to end the world… but you could do that without him. Him being there doesn’t add anything plot wise. The fact that he turns on you later necessitating his demise makes his required survival a bit pointless. Maybe the 3 out 3 ending has some justification for it. I don’t know. Anyways, nice video, I look forward to more.
Thanks for the video! Always love watching your stuff over the course of a day or two. I like to be watching something when I have my meals, and your videos are some of my favorites!

Saul will find his happiness one day, some day
Your pfp is an Afraid of Monsters in game painting isn't it? Just played it recently for the spooks. Also Saul is too much of a grunt for a happy ending. He has committed too many warcrimes to have one.
@@brandonmorel2658 My pfp is the album cover of In The Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel, I'm not sure what Afraid of Monsters is but they might have referenced it
@@NeoKingGhidorah Afraid of monsters is just a horror mod for Half life. If you have half life you should check it out for a spooky time. The mod has that album cover art as an ingame painting for more creepyness.
That's a good point. You may have something there.
Saul: Don't worry Commandante, back in Brigand they called me "The Jankinator"
29:48 - Ah yes, the Kazuma Kiryu manual fishing strat from Yakuza 3. I missed that.
The web expands
@@Tehsnakerer After he played an integral role in _certain events in Yakuza 7 that I'll not speak of here because that video doesn't exist yet and I don't wanna be a douche_ , Kiryu retired to the irradiated wasteland of Panama for some quiet fishing time
The Boiling Point music kicking in for the introduction of Punished Saul was unironically kinda hype, ngl
Warlordocracy legit sounds kinda awesome...
Well, aside from the name.
He could have just it named it Warlocracy.
@@brandonmorel2658 make it sound like a bunch of warlocks decided to have a go at democracy lol
@@SkigBiggler Warlockcracy is the name of another awesome youtube channel in a very similar vein to Accursed Farms/Tehsnakerer.
However I think it rolls of the tongue a bit better than warlord-ocracy But alongside him PatricianTV and Grimbeard I've found a lot of great channels of late.
I really appreciate the level of effort that you put into these videos
Thank you very much
Oh my fuckin' god let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The original Brigand video might be one of my favorite videos in the whole of youtube, can't wait to watch this later.
Glad to see that the saul myers fanclub is still going. As is his spirit.
Man it feels like yesterday i've watched the Brigand Oaxaca video. Absolutely fantastic
Ah just in time for my day off. Happy to see you jump into Brian's new jank filled masterpiece.
The Best ending in this were the companions we made along the way
Until they turned around and gunned you down.
1:04:30 That reference was smoother than Mr. Smooth.
The distorted yiik theme at the end really demonstrates the complete and utter madness of the situation
My god, the followup video I have been waiting on for literally years is finally here. Thank you, Tehsnakerer. I can't wait to use this one to fall asleep to in the near future
I'm so happy you made a video on this! I've watched the Oaxaca video several times by now.
This game honestly should be getting as much coverage as cruelty squad, it makes you feel the same for different reasons
Waited until I had a suitable meal to watch this with and, unlike the game as a whole for you, snake, this video did not disappoint in the slightest. Video game channels like yours are the epitome of content creation of this sphere of UA-cam. Analytical but still fun. It's incredibly hard to mix those two things perfectly and you're one of the rare UA-camrs that does it. This video was a banger like always.
My God I love this. Thanks friend, there's nothing like your last brigand video, the game and your playhrough/commentary are legendary, now theres more!!! It was either play far cry 6 or watch this, you damn well know what I chose . . . .
Every new snake video puts a big smile on my face when I see it. Thanks for what you do!
I love how Brigand can be *so* Brigand. That as soon as it gets a bit easier, you get paranoid.
Excellent video. Glad that Saul Myers made his dramatic return.
i just dont understand how brian can be so diligent at fixing bugs whenever they're reported, yet the game is still so buggy
Thanks for the video! Always love watching your stuff over the course of a day or two. I like to be watching something when I have my meals, and your videos are some of my favorites!
I love how Saul Meyers is a reoccurring character on this channel.
He's a great character, arguably better utilized than what DeepShadows did with him.
Oh boy, time to dive into Brians wild ride
There's a decent sale on the whole series on Steam right now. Figured I'd grab it and maybe play through it myself sometime. Thanks for the reviews of all these obscure, janky and wonderful games.
Thanks for this! Your video on Brigand Oaxaca is one of my favourite video essays on UA-cam
Brian, you've done it again
I love that the driving music from White Gold is becoming a mainstay. That song actually slaps.
Jimmy's ending... Sort of surprised me.
I kinda figured he'd be charming enough that they'd turn on Oz and not him.
Ur first vid is one of my favs…I’m glad u was able to do a part 2
You joke about it but there might be an alternative universe where a Roman pickpocket killed or assisted Caesar for crossing the rubicon.
Your videos, are as always, a delight. Thank you for all the hard work.
mr snake you're my man when it comes to entertaining long videos about jank keep it up
"Now that it's all property, it's all theft." Holy shit I love the one-liners like this you just casually drop. 10/10
Saul Meyers lives again!
And btw, thanks for helping me dodge a bullet: I was going to listen to Mandalore's latest review while at work, then saw this pop up and changed my mind.
Thank God...
what happened with the Mandalore video? haven't seen it
@@danielg3857 I wrote the reply when "Anonymous Agony" was Mandalore's latest review. Imagine if every 'dark and edgy' video game was mixed together with a dollop of NSFW elements. The result? A cursed trainwreck of edgy cringe, with Mandy as your only sane tour guide.
@@jacobottesen5279 oh, gotcha, yeah I've seen the beginning of that video
Man that intro is just SO GOOD. Especially as a sequel to your first video on this. It’s a sequel intro to the intro
I love you man, and i'll say this, Your wanted posters are terrifying. Punished Saul will probably come to me in a dream to bum a cigarette and then shoot me.
25:00 probably my favorite interpretation of the story so far
Oh boy...
It's gonna be a wild ride isn't it?
After seeing the entire video, it's more than a wild ride...
This is an epic journey...
Heya there, brigand fan here, the Enforcer was actually usable in the base game! You could loot it from Joses' Hardware if you wanted (or from the broken tooth pass shack,) or buy it from Arsenal in the late game if memory serves me right.
Edit: I'm also 99% certain it's Quadrajet from the forums who's making the prequel.
Glasgae's cursed spear rampage was flipping hilarious.
Nice, a return to Brigand. I actually bought Oaxaca because of your review, though it's too indie for me.
Man, that was pretty great. You killed me many times with the jokes you did. Love your work
Good, a sequel video for possibly my most watched video of yours. Fantastic. I can't wait for insanity.
The original video is one of my favorite videos ever! Looking forward to this
I've been watching this over the past week while getting ready for work, and finished it now after work. I loved it! Such a great combination of a playthrough kind of video and review in one. Thanks so much for this! Going to watch Oaxaca next (out of order i know lol)
I think I'm going to make sure to buy Brigand when it's not on sale, knowing I'll probably never play it, purely to support Brian. What an insane man that I genuinely hope never stops.
For what it's worth, I really loved the Glasgae montage. "This cinderblock? Cursed!" really got me.
Man I never thought I'd be invested in Action Dad Saul Myers by this much, but here we are.
Really enjoyed the video as usual Snake! You always go the extra mile with your videos. With SMT 5 coming out and your casual mentioning of the series over the years I was wondering have you ever considered doing a video on one of the SMT games? Spin off or Mainline?
A skeleton awkwardly lurches towards the camera, hitting the player character for light damage. With a thwack, the skeleton is returned to naught but a pile of unanimated bones.
"Happy Halloween, everyone."
Thanks Snake. THough I'm saying that too late now, aren't I? Kinda missed that one.
As a 1 man project I am amazed by the quantity and the quality of the production at display here. I'm sure it wasn't trivial to design and code an immersive sim FPS/RPG hybrid.
Hahaha!!! I'm from Panama, I like the idea of this game and I love the concept of Ninjas in the jungles of Panama.
I just want to say, Snake, you are a godsend to the long days at work. It makes my already enjoyable work even more enjoyable, and makes those more boring days far more bearable. Thank you a lot for your work!
