"Ty jesteś zwierze. I ja. Ja jestem zgodny, Ty nie. Ja jestem odbiciem tego co w Tobie, Ty nie jesteś odbiciem tego co we mnie. Powiedz, jedna tylko rzecz mnie zaciekawia, Ziemia, planeta skąd przychodzisz: Co to jest?"
Since people are so excited about the new Dune movie, comparatively, from a production design standpoint, this movie, which is MORE than 40 years old, looks perhaps even STRONGER. And it seems all the more spectacular when it's so obvious that everything you're seeing was created from the ground up - all REAL, sans computers. I find it a shame that Zulawski's films have gotten short thrift in the 21st century (if not always). My three favorite films by him are Szamanka, Possession and Devil. Possession and Devil, which could be considered outright outre horror films, show what happens when a visionary director tries to make a "genre" picture. So it goes with On the Silver Globe: Does this look like one of the greatest UNSEEN sc-fi pictures ever - unlike anything else you've encountered. The costuming alone is a fashion designer's dream. So the question remains, is if all the trouble was taken a few years back to restore this, then why can't I get a Bluray of it on a label like Arrow, Criterion, or Blue Underground? And why just a handful of screenings at places like The Austin Film Society as opposed to, let's say, Comic-Con? I know people wince at that kind of commercialization, but seriously, the sci-fi community is HUGE. You have to go where the people are! You have to generate interest. There's no reason that this film should continue to be lost in obscurity AFTER its been restored! For a log time the movie Possession was difficult to find on home video; but in the last decade that situation has been corrected. Now Possession is a fave of a large swath of Horror Fans that take a deeper dive into horror film beyond what's playing on Netflix. On The Silver Globe would be the same if they would just make it available. Oh, and just about this clip: Good editing, great song. It made me go check out Vexaic, too.
Recently finished the very recently translated LUNAR TRILOGY on which this is based and Andrzej did an excellent adaptation of his grand uncle Jerzy's epic.
I'm one of the biggest fan of this masterpiece, your edit is very clean, kind of american edit, but anyway, like this film, you're looking for a breathtaking effect and it works.
It's a treasure. If you watch and like it, check other Zulawski's movies, especially those produced in Poland. Check also Szulkin's movies if you like deep s-f thinking ( I've seen "Obi-oba:the end of civilization" on youtube in full version with English subtitles).
Awesome edit man! Have been watching it on repeat for a couple days now. Where’d you find a copy of this film?? I’ve been looking for it but can’t find it. The book has finally been translated to English and is coming out in in August if anyone’s curious. Great edit!!
In this movie it is not narrator. It is fragment of conversation between protagonist and alien. You are animal and I, I am compatible and you are not. I am reflection of what it is inside you and you are not reflection of what it is inside me. Tell me, only one thing wonders me, Earth, planet which you are from, what it is?
"You are the animal. I am consistent. You are not. I am the mirror of you. You are not the mirror of me. Tell me - the only thing that interests me is Earth, the planet you come from. What is it."
"You are the animal. And I. I agree, you don't. I am a reflection of what is in you, you are not a reflection of what is in me. Say, only one thing interests me, Earth, the planet where you come from: What is it?"
Sorry for my bad english - it’s just a simply and quite literal translation (the original is somehow more poetic): You are an animal and I am. And I am consistent - you’re not. And I am a reflection of what’s inside you - you aren’t reflection of what’s inside me. Tell me, there’s only one thing that makes me curious: earth, the planet whence you come from, what is it?
@@ConanObrien22 It was killed by authorities before being finished due to political reasons. So around 25% of footage either do not exist or was lost. In the late 80's, the producer tried to finish it but it was already impossible - the actors grew older, costumes and locations were destroyed. So we are left with just a glimpse of what it could be...

I think this movie is the closest to what Alejandro Jodorowsky wanted to do with his attempt to adapt the book Dune, it's like a spiritual successor

4K resto Blu Ray finally out on Arrow in late July this year bundled with Third Part of the Night and The Devil. I guess better late than never, eh?

There is a website called "exmilitai" with only soviet apocalypse films. It's the best free version I found on the internet :)
This film defies all
Great edit
Hermoso homenaje a la que quizás sea la película más inquietante, sugerente y estimulante de la historia.
Gracias Jesus

I heard this movie was unfinished?
There were parts that were lost. In the movie there is narration for the missing parts
