This shows how big a deal suspension is for any performance car. If you want to mod a car for lap time the two major things to do are good suspension and good brakes. Most modern cars are designed to their engine power so adding any more power means you have to upgrade the cooling, gearbox, air intake and exhaust system to see any real gains and that starts to get expensive. However most cars will go a lot faster with stock power but good brakes and suspension (if you can strip out some weight as well that helps).
Tires are more important than either. Can't turn or stop well if your tires are shit. They're your only contact point with the ground.

This was minblowing info on how grippier tires affect oem suspension... I remember doing something similar in my car and the car feels like it dives a lot more too but I would never do it near the limit unless I was on a track... sadly there are none around where I live. This made me more respectful of my shitbox tho. Cause If I oversteered I would not recover it as gracefully as jimmy.

Anyone know what the "drink" button is on the steering wheel of the 330i race car?
They would most likely have a water pump in the car so that you can press the button and it'll pump water through a tube and into your mouth, it's much better than sucking on a tube. It's mainly used for the longer races such as endurance races

Figured I'd mention, YT did not recommend this video to me.
The previous Le Mans Ultimate video and the one after this, both ended up on my homepage, this video however, did not.
Had to manually find this, but I'm here for the real content too.
I'm pretty sure the Papenburg track is actually a full scale replica of the Hockenheimring, not half scale. Both have a 500+ meter long main straight. It is half the track though, the back section towards the hairpin is cut off.

Kind of a random comment but people like you make me keep on trying to find my passion in life.
I've been depressed for half my life now and sometimes I just lack motiviation to do even the most basic things, but seeing someone like Jimmer having this much of a passion for racing just lights up my heart.
You can tell he's into every second of this stuff and I wish I could find something that fulfills me even just half as much.

Jimmy, what are winter tires for those of us that live in Australia where tires are just normal tires all year round.
They simply have a lot more tread to go over rougher terrain and to grip better on snow and ice, they also work better at lower tempuratures summer tyres you wouldn't be able to get any heat into them when driving normally but winter ones get up to temp much quicker.
They didn't want to reuse those tyres anyway, right?

Have fun! I had a chance to drive a race car on track once. Sadly by the time it got to "my go" (Which i wasn't expecting) I was sick as a dog from being in the passenger seat with a few pro race drivers driving it..... (it was a testing session with a Time Attack car)
So instead of driving the race car, I lay down on the pit wall and felt shit. I am still gutted about this over 10 years later.
Can't wait to see what you all do in 2024. I'm sure it's going to be amazing.
