He even sacrificed his own virtue and pride to wipe floor with arrogant fool to maje sure he is punished and humiliated enough so no other knight seeks revenge for Subaru's offences, because other knight would probably kill him. Julius kicked his ass to save his life.

@@David-du4mj for a light novel reader you're WAY off your mark, as far as the LN goes, Emilia is FAR stronger than Elsa, she usually is very aware and only increases her attack power in scaling with the enemy she is fighting so as not to hurt those around (because of spoilers from her past). In the LN she obviously and quickly learns/ trains in her powers (thanks to creative ideas from Subaru).
(not spoilers) since you guys are nearing the end of season 1, you may have heard that the directors cut has 1 extra scene at the end (which can be found on YT). skip it, they didnt know if rezero would continue or not. just go straight to season 2 b/c they will show it at the beginning anyways. also the trailer for season 2 spoils a bit of the first few episodes so if you dont want to know much then you should probably skip it too.

And when she fought the bowel hunter they were in an enclosed space so she had to majorly hold back. If she had a 1 on 1 with Elsa at that point in the story with no one around and went for the kill she could have had a 50/50 chance to win. Emilia is the 4th strongest at the mansion, but she is the second strongest non spirit at the mansion
The reason Julius was demanding everyone call him "Juli" is because technically, knights are forbidden from doing "mercenary work" which this could be considered as. They are supposed to fight wars for their lords and protect the people of their kingdom.. but helping out Subaru in someone else's territory doesn't fall under that. It's a fake name that he is trying to use so that this doesn't get him in trouble. Not a particularly convincing or subtle fake name either.

Based off what you guys have seen I can show you why Subaru isn't the archbishop of Pride. 1. You have to join the cult to become an archbishop and gain an authority 2. The cult is evil and has killed so many he loves 3. Subaru has no reason to join 4. The only reason they think he is Pride is because of the witches scent

Subaru also does not have a Gospel, which is proof of membership in the Wich's Cult. When Juice tried reading through his to find mention of Subaru, there was none. The only reason the cult thinks he's a new member is because he's surrounded by so much of the Witch's miasma.

Spoiler! the letter was blank because Rem handwrote the letter and she was erased before the letter was delivered.
I still think the gospel is literally just Emilia from the future's diary. They read it as full of love because she's constantly (and secretly) gushing about how much she loves Subaru in there without mentioning any names. It also details everything that happened in the recent past (which is still the future for them now). Her past diary entries would be future predictions in present time. Although Subaru's fiddling with the timeline probably throws them off a bit which makes them not 100% accurate. That's my theory anyway. The inaccurate ones are probably copies from other timelines that tell that timeline's future which wouldn't be true in this timeline. I'm guessing someone, either Subaru or Roswaal brought the book back with them in time via some kind of powerful spell. Honestly, I think Subaru and Roswaal are actually the same person. That's why he talks so weird and wears clown makeup. He's disguising himself from himself. It explains why he let Subaru stay at the mansion for free without an argument. It explains why he and Emilia live together. It explains why he has Ram and Rem living with him.. (he saved them when they should have died in that village fire). Subaru and he have the same face (at different ages) and the same obsession with the witches.. and Emilia. Basically, my idea is that Subaru gets to a point where he can no longer fix the future but his return point is too far forward in time to be useful to undo anything.. so he is stuck in an unwinnable situation. So he spends years learning advanced magic..makes a bargain with say a dragon or whatever to get immortality and he uses his super advanced magic to send himself back in time to support his previous self.. He has given up being with Emilia in his time.. but as long as some version of himself gets to be with her, he'll be happy. Now he can't directly interfere because he will cause a paradox. So he has to support him secretly behind the scenes and with manipulations. He disguises himself so that his past self (or anyone else) won't recognize him or that they are the same person. Tell me what you think of my insane theory.. I think it could totally fit. I haven't read the book or anything so that is just my guess. The gospel isn't really magic... it changes when the future changes because in the future ...the current events would be written differently because they happened differently. It automatically updates itself to reflect what she wrote about what happened after the fact. Making the book seem magical when it is just time correcting itself. Oh and the witch's cult is actually just a bunch of weirdos that found a few copies of her diary, noted that they changed magically and predicted the future and so they made a religion out of it. Basically they are a bunch of stalkers and nothing they believe is true.

Did you notice that after the explosion Felix was wearing a potato sack for a dress. His clothes got incinerated in the explosion. He can heal himself and others... but he can't heal burnt clothes.
It's cool and all that Subaru took the gospel to try to crack it and use it against them... but what he doesn't realize is something very very sinister. He was given a gospel and it is now in his possession. What does that mean? It's proof of the witches love and his authority in her cult. Meaning, that he didn't choose that book.. that book chose him. They didn't say HOW you had to get the book.. only that you had to have it. And now he has it.
