Glad you're back. I'm going to be looking to acquire some in the near future for my indoor aquaponics set up. I plan to set up a small 300 gallon pool. I can't wait to get started.
critanand from mauritius island dear friend nice to hear you again love your video i also raising some prawn at home i'm struggling to breed my prawn because i have't got the device to check the salinity all my baby prawn die after two day's thanks for sharing
Dude you rock. I'm getting ready to set up some tanks and give it a shot. Awesome content. I am planning on ordering 50 skrimps from you in a couple weeks.
It seems that the density of prawns maintained in each tank is low. How would you increase the density of prawns so that this could be a viable source of substantial protein? I realize this video is for instruction and demonstration but how many prawns could you grow in a 100-gallon stock tank under normal conditions.
Hello, I was wondering if you think it's possible to repurpose an old hot tub for raising prawns? As long as the filter and heater still work? I would keep them in a smaller container (like the 50 to 100 gallon tank) until they were big enough to move into the hot tub. It's a small hot tub, about 4 feet wide, 3 feet deep. I just found your videos, I find them really informative! Thanks for your time.
Hi KT, I plan on Raising These Prawns here in California Zone 8b -10b. Is it Possible? What is the best way To get in touch with you? Hope to hear from you and glad your channel is Back! Have a good one.
Hi, have been watching your channel. Really glad you're back. I've decided to commercially grow shrimp but will start with a small tank like yours to learn how to produce the larvae. I'm in Ghana and we mostly harvest from the wild, so nowhere to source larvae. I'm going to source the brood stock from the fisher folks and try to culture. It's going to be a wild learning curve. Our species here is Macrobrachium vollenhoveni. I t migrates to brackish water st spawn so that's a bit tricky. I would need a lot of help and advice from anywhere and everywhere. I have lots of questions even though some have been answered in some of your past videos. Please I need help good folks here
If they travel to brackish water to spawn, then you might have some luck with gradually lowering the salinity of your spawning tank around the time they spawn in the wild, and that might trigger their spawning behavior. That technique has been used before with horseshoe crabs to get them to reproduce in captivity, and if the shrimp's spawning is the same you might be in luck. Lowering the salinity to match brackish levels might trigger a biological cue in the shrimp to start spawning. I would go out and measure the salinity of the brackish areas where they're spawning and try to replicate that in your spawning setup.
Hello, I'm seriously want to breeding shrimps, but I have 2 gold fish has been with us for 2 years in a 150 gallon pond, can the shrimps survive with the fish? I will make the substrate like your.
Hey love your video. Question: I was doing some reading and it explain and even though these are freshwater prawns for breeding the water need to be 10-12 ppt salinity. From your video it seems like you using regular water. Is there something you add to the water or is this just a misconception.
That’s nowhere near a breakeven based on inputs. Are you researching other varieties that can handle lower temperatures? What are the energy costs of just one 100 gallon tank? Yikes to raise 28 prawns? If you added up all the inputs for each prawn each prawn is well over $50 each
wow....i've been waiting for a year A_A nice to see you again

Enjoying the prawns I got from you .

Hi. Yes, please visit www.ktprawns.com. Thanks
Like your setup! I'm thinking about getting into this. Can I ask, why prawns instead of shrimp? Looking forward to the next video.
I'm no expert, but I believe shrimp require salt water like the ocean. Prawns are fresh water critters.
@@jeremyperala839 Yes, you are correct. These Prawns are freshwater.
