    Thanks for watching that. Requiem is on the dark side of the moon. Messiah was the fortress built into an asteroid.
    Weapon of mass destruction in seed have always felt visceral to me.
    There are shields capable of bending Requiem, that is actually how they get the beam to turn in the first place (you see the melted remains of one of those near the end of this clip), but ultimately, the level of shield needed for that isn't trivial, and if you did have one you defending them you could just aim somewhere else instead. As for nuking Requiem, it has a fleet defending it, so you would need a lot of ordinance to get past that.

      @@WadeWadeReacts Well, since you have started watching the series itself, you probably know how the war started. After that level of barbarity, there aren't that many lines left to cross. (admittedly, the movie villains did manage to find one, but that was a different scene)

    0:55 I remember in the theater when it was playing, there's some nostalgic parents who brought their 5-year-old kid (who's been noisy the entire film up to that point) and that kid immediately silenced for the rest of the film after that scene 😂
    Also... trust me. SEED got a more brutal deaths involving a WMD. It's in the episode where Freedom debuted, I believe? The Cyclops..

    rebuilt this thing too many times. I'm just wondering if no one ever monitors this area.
    It's basically just a large beam cannon that is curved by . . . . i would say multiple series of cylinders. How it exactly works. well it's seed.
    1:43 ofc. their money making of a series comeback movie.
    2:00 one of a list of superweapons in gundam XD
    2:04 it was the moon
    2:36 yea idk who said it was on an asteroid
    2:54 . . . i usually don't like the term laser. cuz it's not the proper term, and is a very different weapon.
    2:59 if it was a laser, than yes mirrors would deflect a lot of the light energy, before being burned up, and punching through anyways.

      @@VoidTemplar Are you trying tell me I can't have defection mirror tech in a Sci Fi world? Lol. Whatever the beam was bounced off of or funneled through at the start of the clip, Earth needs that.

    • @VoidTemplar
      @VoidTemplar 15 днів тому +1

      @WadeWadeReacts uhhhh depends on how grounded the sci fi is. Gundam should be on the grounded level most of the time.
      But sure, normally that is what a mirror does to lasers. Though mirrors will burn.
      Its not stopping particle or plasma weaponry, which is probably what gundam uses.
      It was curves, not bounces, through cylindrical relay stations.
      Basically, preplaced holes at multiple points, to make the target unlikely to be known, and that misaligning it slightly means failure.
      Meaning earth having counter stations wouldnt work.
      A technical alternative one use to block it, is a wall of yata no kagami anti beam defenst reflection system.
      (The gold armoir on the suit that reflect beams.)
      A Beam diffraction lattice with plasma suppression.
      Problem still lies in where to put it, and would you like to bankrupt the earth to make a one use item.
      Also gets shredded with debris.

    • @TheHunterkiller96
      @TheHunterkiller96 8 днів тому

      So, the original reason it wasn't being monitored was because they didn't realize you could fire a super laser from the dark side of the moon and hit stuff on earth.
      The reason it was able to be rebuilt and used here was because the majority of the infrastructure was to large to dismantle, so the generators were going to be repurposed for more peaceful uses, but apparently the people overseeing that were genocidal traitors, and rebuilt it to give to the villains.

    Requiem doesn't really have any way to deflect since it is a concentrated beam of nuclear power, basically a ton of atom bombs combined and compressed into a linear weapon.

    • @TheHunterkiller96
      @TheHunterkiller96 15 днів тому +1

      Deflecting it is literally how it targets things around the world. And I would imagine that type of shield will become more common after this. Though, if that was the case then people would just use the other wmd tech in the setting instead, so I guess it wouldn't make a huge difference.

      @@Skullkaiser nuclear power? Where that lore come from?
      Pretty sure its just a very large upscale of a standard CE "beam".
      Cuz yato no can block it. Can't be a "different" beam, like the positron cannons which are antimatter cannons.

    To add onto the pile, one of the best old school fighting animations came from Macross: Do You Remember Love? - Max vs. Milia It's 2 ace pilots just going at it and what makes it crazier is Marcoss doesn't have machines that can take a hit. Every shot is potentially lethal. So, let's have them fight in a hallway! Even though it's not as popular you can see why Marcross has lasted as long as Gundam imo.
