    October 1st 2023: Tossed my vape pen and said NO MORE to alcohol. Everything has improved since then, and continues the upward trajectory. Great decision.

      @@amandaparfait9468 You are absolutely on the right path, dear Amanada. Step One is you start thinking about stopping. In my case, I thought about it for weeks before my brain shifted into Step Two, which was to throw my vape pen out the car window as I drove home one day. I actually fell off the wagon a couple weeks later and took up both habits again for a couple more weeks. But I was so disgusted with myself for not sticking and staying that it was only for about two weeks before I chucked the pen and the alcohol for good. You can do this.

    Four months ago, I made the choice to quit drinking for 30 days. On day 1 I awoke early and searched for meditations for sobriety. One of your videos came up, and the content was so inspiring. It’s now been 117 days, and I’m not looking back. I still watch your channel every week to get a little extra inspiration to keep me going. Gratitude, mate. 🙏

      AUD is a disease best treated with medicine. Please see your doctor about Naltrexone. One daily pill eliminates the cravings for alcohol. No AA or programs. No mind games. No blame or shame going forward. You wouldn't go to counseling for an infection or rash. AUD is treatable. Reducing or eliminating alcohol becomes simple.

    7 days clean for me today…reasons
    Better my relationship with wife and kid.
    Better control of my thoughts and emotions
    More present in my day by day activities
    Blackouts and not available when wife or kid needs me in middle of the night
    My weight

    At heart, I think the biggest desire for me to quit, is to remind myself who I was when I was at my best. Drinking has chipped away all facets of my life over many, many years and added nothing (except it was so much fun, for only me, to be drunk when I was drunk). Now I'm 11 days sober within the model you put forward, my mind is crystal clear, and I feel I am that great person again. No going back. Only a foll trips up on what is behind him. Thanks Leon for your vids & emails & consistency. ❤

      29 days sober now. Each day some facet (watch all the 30 day vids) improves, and a couple of times a week I get flashbacks, fancy a beer, then equally quickly the craving goes, like seeing an amazing girl drive by = wow! too dangerous, gone.🙂

    • @iainmclean2
      @iainmclean2 4 місяці тому

      Now on day 88 clean. I've enjoyed all the benefits of quitting. No more to be had, got to deal with the head game now. The only thing I miss (as Don would say in Sexy Beast) is the fuck-offness of it. But life so balanced now.

    Thanks. I used the bogus excuse of needing drink to relax in the evenings after managing people. What made me awaken was bumping into a neighbour training for a triathalon. At that time, my waist and thighs were bulging. I was ashamed. Now I'm a sports guy too, feeling great. Best wishes to everyone here.

    Great video that shares a lot of free invaluable advice. Just watched it after my scheduled Roadmap call with you was cancelled at the very last minute (was looking forward!) as I clicked one of the pre-interview questions 'incorrectly' about not having financial means!. I would recommend removing this yes, no option until people actually know the cost of the program THEN they can decide if they can afford it or not. Just some honest feedback. Hello from rural Japan where sake (rice wine) over centuries and centuries has been offered to the gods at shrines. Quite a few more hurdles to overcome here were alcohol is so endemic in traditional culture since ancient times.

      @@raymondlin8728 nobody can stop you from doing whatever it is you going to do. if you are going to eat 20 cheeseburgers in one sitting...no one's going to stop you. It is up to you to decide. Once you become sick and tired of being "controlled" by a substance...then you will decide to take your free agency to decide back to yourself. You are drinking now. Probably reaching intoxication. I was where you are at. I was drinking early...going through withdrawals. Shakes...Nightsweats... Stomach cramps. I was using the alcohol as a crutch to deal with depression...worries...boredom. Until it began to screw with my health. If you are looking for sympathy...I have bad news...NOBODY REALLY CARES...Some people might care enough to point you to the best direction where you can take more control over your decisions. But after you have exhausted the people trying to help you they're just going to wash their hands and move on. It is up to you to care for yourself. if you think you are somehow upsetting the people or somehow you proving something to others you are mistaken. the only person who's hurting themselves with excessive alcohol consumption is yourself. I have an older brother who's a chronic alcoholic he drinks every single day from morning till night and he refuses any help. the only thing I could say is I hope you decide to do better. now if you do commit some kind of crime...if you hurt someone it is obvious that they are going to lock you up in jail whether you are drinking or not. I know plenty of sober healthy people doing 20 years in jail for committing a crime and I know plenty of decent good hard-working alcoholics who drink on a daily basis. no one is judging whether you are a good person or not because you drink. you can enjoy your one or two or even three drinks every evening... but when you go beyond where you're hurting yourself it is not good for you. Capish? At some point I also wanted sympathy or empathy from people. I wanted a pat on my back... I wanted somebody to care so I could quit. nobody cared!!! not even the people from my church cared!!! the only people who offered advice was the people at AA with the 12th step program. then I realized that nobody really cares... even the people at AA made it clear that they are not going to follow a person around monitoring their drinking habits. It is up to the individual to stop or to minimize their consumption of alcohol. sorry for the long comment...🙏
