    Really helpful to see your workflow! Obviously a limited little box but in the right hands (yours) it can be just right.

    Hello sir I’m having fun with the device, I want to record myself performing the beat… I had an easy time loading a sample and playing with it. I downloaded audacity but I can’t seem to figure out how to make record the output of the performance.

    i try one of this few years back and my experience was NOT good at all... basically adding the files to the card for the device to read (i remember weird formats, names, and how big files would be?) was hard and the pads were not so responsive... but i love the fact that is really small and basic to shoot saplers live. There is a new version with 16 pads but i dunno.. looks a bit big
    whats the experience for you?? should i give a second try?

    • @coldlobeats
      @coldlobeats  3 роки тому +1

      If you like a free flow beat maker, yes. It doesnt sequence or quantize. This is more of a live sampler.

  • @adenmaycry3603
    @adenmaycry3603 7 років тому +5

    what did you use to record the beat?

    • @coldlobeats
      @coldlobeats  7 років тому +4

      atomic program used: Audacity.

  • @jdotndot
    @jdotndot 5 років тому +1

    Aye! Feeling this. Question, with this are you able to sequence within the sample itself or would I need external software to sequence to a song?

    • @coldlobeats
      @coldlobeats  5 років тому +3

      you can sequence the drums with the sample live only. it is not auto synced. you have to do everything live.

    Help me please ....when I put my wave samples( small size not bigger than 1mb) in the Mpx8 converter the size of the sample/loop changes..it automatically cuts down few micro secs so the loop doesn't play on beat ....how can I solve this problem

    • @coldlobeats
      @coldlobeats  2 роки тому

      You have to make sure the sample doesn’t last longer than the 1MB

    I’ve got mpx8 few month ago, and i have the sampling issue , i cant put it on my sample on this machine i tried all the way , I was exported 44.1, 16bit mono wav file by logic pro, it was basic drum sample 1sec running time each part, i tried put it on the sd card directly and its never work , i feels totally waste my money, i tried to use the convert , edit app on my mac book it never work with my os , its high sierra, its horrible old gear for me ..
    If you have any idea let me know plz

    • @coldlobeats
      @coldlobeats  4 роки тому +1

      Record small samples on either Creative Wave Studio or Audacity, save the sample, and drag it to the SD Card. The sample can't be long.

      @@leongxudong7229 Not sure if you still have this device or not. But another thing that should be noted, in order for the samples to be recognized, the names of the files should be no more than 8 characters long, and contain no spaces, or slashes, or asterisks, or quotation marks or "less than" or "greater than" characters (). It has also been recommended that you remove all the metadata from the wav files. This is my understanding based on my readings and research.
      Hope this helps (if you still have this device that is).

      @@leongxudong7229 you're welcome. Do you still have this device? I'm gonna get it myself soon (well I'm actually getting the MPX16 and not the MPX8, but the 16 is not that much different from the 8). I have reasons for choosing that device, even despite all the backlash against it from several reviewers.

    Is this just a sample player or can you make beats on it like you would with an mpc?

    • @coldlobeats
      @coldlobeats  6 років тому +2

      Its a combination of both. You can play the sample and put the beat together similar to an MPC. It doesn't auto format, it's all done freehand.....which has it's advantages and disadvantages.

      @@coldlobeats My apologies for being rather late here, but I think what the person was asking is if it has a "sequencer", like the MPC does. But you're right, you have to play it all live. And to be honest, that's fine by me. I'm going to get this device, precisely because it seams to be one of the few standalone samplers on the market that does not have a sequencer. This is "just" a performance instrument, it cannot sequence anything internally, just like a guitar or a piano or a drum.

      atomic probably so. You can do more with the MPC2000. This MPX8 is good and versatile but not compared to the MPC2000. I've done most of my beats though on the Maschine MK2.
