I had to stop drinking around my junior year also due to health complications and the feeling of fomo when others are drinking and having fun is so so strong and real.

I really look forward to your videos. The holidays are a challenge for many of us. I had a close call, with a frigging mini brownie. It was the lone "boozy brownie" in a package, which was a gift. Of course, I went right to the "boozy brownie" because I'm a punk! Anyway, the 2nd ingredient was 80-proof Kentucky bourbon! It was NOT cooked off! I only bit off the corner, and it was still terrifying! The boozy syrup coated my tongue and just hung out there for what seemed like forever. I chucked it in the trash, in a full on panic. So, be careful out there! Beware of holiday drinks and foods which might be booze soaked. I've got 7 years, and I agree that we do not, and will not, get the accolades we deserve. I think it's mainly because people aren't really aware of how big a deal it is. That's why the communities of like-minded people are so important. We can give each other props. I'm very proud of you, and I don't even know you. You're doing an amazing thing at an age where it's almost unheard of. Just keep doing what you're doing! Wishing you a happy and healthy new year!

Hi Steph!! It meant so much when you said, I support you. I am proud of you! It was felt :) I am a lot older than you and I am having my own negative relationship with alcohol. I am trying to do Dry January to see how I will do taking some time away from drinking. I know you've discussed feeling shame from the past. But what about dealing with the present? When you stop drinking, you are forced to face your own bad choices. Maybe you're not doing well at work, lost a relationship, etc. After you stop drinking, what are some initial steps you can take to start moving in a positive direction? Maybe it's going to the gym, maybe it's going to therapy. I am curious about your thoughts on this. Maybe it's a subject for a future video!
