THIS APPEALS TO THE EMOTIONAL DEPTH OF THE STORY THAT THE GAME GLOSSES OVER! Yeah we proved Karma guilty, but here we get to rub it in his face and gloat. "You're not my father. You *killed* my father."
32:53 Can we talk about how ingenious it was to change Robert Hammond to Marvin Grossberg? It makes Mia an interesting parallel to Miles; A mentor that was responsible for a parent’s disappearance in their life. Plus the willingness to get a victory by any means necessary on both sides presents this system as unjust all around!
38:58 Phoenix: "Your prints were on the gun..?" Miles: "Uhh I think we've established that." Phoenix: "YOUR PRINTS WERE ON THE GUN?!" Miles: "I WAS IN A DAZE!"
lotta: "the one with the funky hair" **Phoenix and Edgeworth both look at each other** BRO THAT MOMMENT MADE ME LAUGH, I MEAN C'MON THEIR HAIR IS SO UNATURAL-
I'm not sure if anyone pointed this out already but Phoenix and Edgeworth parallel each other. When Edgeworth finds out Von Karma killed his father, he says "This whole time. After all these years... It was you?!" And Phoenix says the exact same thing (though in a more joking manner obviously) when he finds out it was actually Larry that stole Edgeworths lunch money.
I took the Latin from Anything To Win and fiddled with Google Translate, and it's pretty interesting. For the most part, the Latin chorus is saying the same thing von Karma is saying, but it deviates in places. important way: "Blind justice must be taught; I cannot sin; *Now he is condemned,* I keep the perfection of my truth; No peace, quiet, truth, faith; *_although Miles is innocent;_* but I always know how to win." When Manfred von Karma says the line "my case is clearly perfect," the chorus says "but Miles is innocent." ATTENTION TO DETAIL. NICE.
Also, if I type "Miles" it translates to soldier, and if I type "Mīles" it translates to love. I don't think it's relevant to this song in particular but it's still neat
actually crying at the epilogue oh my goodness. and the “You’re not my father.” UGH the added intimate dialogue between all the characters is so good, SO GOOD. and the underscoring is incredibly clever.
1:45:24 this part is so fucked up actually holy SHIT. Not Von Karma trying to appeal to Miles emotional side and manipulate him hello?? In COURT?? AFTER THAT REVEAL??? The actual nerve of this man oh my god 😭 Miles my boy im so sorry omg.
Can we all agree that the post-credits scene is canon? Because I think the idea of Winston Payne of all characters being the one who gets Von Karma convicted is too hilarious and satisfying to not have him ultimately lose to the guy who couldn't outsmart a fish sandwich.
I prefer to imagine Edgeworth prosecuting. And he just keeps bringing up more stuff that von Karma did and dragging the trial out longer out of spite. And eventually Phoenix and Maya burst in like AYO don't forget the taser incident
@@aquamarie3117Honestly I love both scenarios, but I do especially love the mental image of Phoenix showing up half way through and going “OBJECTION! He tased me!” Mostly because I don’t think he told anybody about that at all. Edgeworth would be so shocked and concerned that Maya and him both got electrocuted, and then just moved on, without getting medical attention or anything
“The people we love never really leave us, you know? They make us who we are.” This is a quote that I still use to this day. The fact that this story has that much of an impact on me speaks volumes about the writing of this!
When I first watched this, it felt like this was reminding me of something, and I only recently realized what it was-- it reminded me of the Hunchback of Notre Dame, and I think that's why I was so drawn to this at first lol
Augh my heart is so happy about this. There were a lot of interesting changes made from the original musical I noticed, like the absence of the steel samurai case, but it was fun to see the Steel Samurai Always Wins reused for the Redd White case, among other subtle writing changes across songs. Also extremely fun and interesting choices to how you all changed the story of the final case (Grossberg being murdered was a super clever way of tying things together while simplifying the case). Much love for this project, it's got a lot of heart, and even if it might be a bit rough around the edges compared to what people expect of online content these days, this was extremely special. Thanks for going through the effort, childhood me is extremely happy to see this done. :']
Thanks so much for your lovely response! If you’re curious, there’s plenty more Turnabout Musical projects that have happened in the past 15 years! Check out the linktree in the description and the discord server if you’re interested! :D
Well Von Karma would technically be a rookie when it comes to defending, especially himself. So Winston Payne was technically living up to his title there.
"You are not my father, you KILLED my father" he said and I CRIED 😭😭😭😭😭 This was so good I have no words, I'm so late to this but Oh God it was a delight, everything! My favorite part was probably Edgeworth bonding with Maya over the DL-6, that was soooo needed 😢❤❤ wonderful work 🎉🎉
Man, the voices for Phoenix and Edgeworth are just what I imagined! The harmonization and vocals are just amazing, this deserves more recognition, I'm smiling like an idiot 😭💗
Actually very fond of Von Karma trying to take his anger out on Miles once realising he had truly lost Also the end with Wright and Edgeworth felt like “idk maybe we could hold hands? Maybe date or something?”
Amazing. Various specific things -love how the prologue is done to reflect Miles emotional experience- in the game there’s this mystery and ambiguity of who the two voices are but here there’s mystery and ambiguity created by the shifts in space and time -decree being the new “wright wright wright” suggests decree was diegetic which is very funny and in character for miles -the adaptational changes are so great -Larry mentioning he was there and Yogi using the facade of the annoying dementia sufferer to prevent phoenix from finding out more -nice, parallels -THE REFERENCE TO THE ROOM!!!! unexpected Venn diagram of my interests -“I don’t think scanning a person is going to help” HA -rip grossberg. I understand this adaptational change it makes sense to simplify the number of characters involved in DL-6, much like removing April and establishing Lotta last case, but rip -maya🤝miles DL6 trauma & steel samurai fandom -gavs performance is absolutely perfect, highlight this bit when he’s recapping his greatest trauma and clearly trying so hard to remain unemotional -MVK VILLAIN SONG!!!! I listened to the other versions of this song because I was impatiently curious about the leitmotif that appeared a couple times in act 1 tied to the phrase “perfection is the life I must lead”, but this is in my opinion the best version -I’ve thought for some time and talked to my friend/beta reader about the comparison between MvK and Frollo from Hunchback of Notre Dame (villainous character who has and abuses the power to get people executed; adopted and manipulated the son of his murder victim; the main difference is that MvK doesn’t have an Esmeralda) and the vibes are really here in this voice and song. The chanting chorus just like hellfire except here he has no doubts -it’s so fucking funny in the games too how MvK acts like he owns the court and you’ve really captured that so well -I’ve mentioned how the plot is compressed very cleverly to suit the new medium, this continues to be true -gumshoe teaching maya to speak tsundere lol -LARRY -IGBTB has some syllable stress that doesn’t match the scansion of the rhythm but because it’s Larry it works, and this mistake is rare through the rest of the show so I think it may be a stylistic choice here -when WKGE transitions into the game music melody -I like how the breakdown scene is done here -did I catch a random veiled Star Wars reference?!? -that low note on the reprised “anything to win” my god -RFTA sequel hook?!?! -NARUMITSU REAL -amazing musical amazing adaptation I love it
I think my favorite aspect of this project has been how it not only contributes some fantastic additions but elevates some of the best lines from the musical and the game's script. "For the better of the nation" "The kinda guy you can trust", "After all these years, it was you?" "The people we love never really leave us" "I hope you know, I'm glad we met" You can really feel the love pouring through for all the years of history that's led to this production. And all these conclusions, at long last! Edgeworth gets to address his father issues! Wright doesn't have to pay for food!! Larry actually finds someone! They get to finish "I will be there" without getting interrupted on the last note! Rebirth gets a reprise!!! Fantastic job, everyone. MFPS, you knocked it out of the park.
Edgeworth: Don't tell me you really became a defense attorney because of that. Because of me? Wright: well... Maybe? Edgeworth: ~~Phoenix ❤ -sweet as hell - Me, the one that has been shipping this two guys since i played the game 15 years ago. : ADSGFHFH THIS IS SO LOVELY AND GAY!!! SO CANON! I'M DYING!!! Wao you all did ah incredible job, i love it ❤
This is officially my favorite adaptation of the game OMG IT'S SO GOOD!!! I love how Grossberg became the connection to the DL-6 incident and explains why he is part of Redd White's dossier. I adore all the character dynamics, especially Gumshoe and Maya. I want to see them investigate and support each other again. It's so nice to see the closest person to Phoenix and Edgeworth bonding and investigating together. Thank you for putting Gumshoe with Maya and Phoenix, he and his metal detector are the ultimate trump card. I adore how Edgeworth and Maya realize they lost a parent that day and then bonded over Steel Samurai cuz honestly, they should talk more about it. Then all the moments with Phoenix and Maya are so dear to me! I love how Phoenix immediately comforts and thanks her so that scene in the end wasn't all angst but understanding and I think they see each other as family/siblings after everything they've been through. Thank you for improving their relationship! I also like the changes with Polly and how it's only revealed in court, unlike the games. It made for a more shocking revelation to me. "YoUr FinGErPrInTs wEre oN tHe gUn!!" yes I love this. That entire part with Larry was top-tier comedy gold!! I can't remember laughing this much at a character and I love how everyone reacts to him at court. I love all the Narumitsu/Wrightworth moments and that talk and hug after the trial was so sweet and NEEDED. My heart shattered and repaired once again when I saw young Miles Edgeworth holding a book and Phoenix reminiscing about him AHHHH Then the part where von Karma switched up and started pleading to his "son" Miles only for him to point as a defense attorney and stand his ground oh boi I SCREAMED!! YES EDGEWORTH GET HIM! I highly appreciate you all for adding that scene since I always wanted to see Miles taking his honor back and it feels like his father was there watching him. Oh and of course that emotional epilogue where Edgeworth realized he isn't alone and finally LAUGHED warmed my heart plus Phoenix doesn't need to pay. I love how everyone got their rightful happy ending even Payne YESSS he finally won a case HAHAHAHA
When Phoenix tells Maya he appreciates her and how he admires her actions and how he worries about her?? When Phoenix tells Edgeworth he is not going to give up on him? His voice is so emotional and raw and even though I've listened to this thrice now, these moments just touched me deeply during absentmindedly listening. I think I'll be able to listen to this many, many more times and find moments like this that make me feel things. The voice actors and singers did such an excellent job.
Oh man, I remember listening to this last year sometime and somehow didn't comment? Multiple songs from part 1 sometimes come back as earworm, so I need to appreciate this musical more. So. APPRECIATION TIME. I'm so happy this exists. Also that scene at the party between Phoenix and Miles was so tender??
I have a LOT I wanna say about this but I just wanna make this comment separately and go OH MY GOD at 1:02:21 that's the It's Gotta Be The Butz animatic. That was the very first video I saw that actually introduced me to not just Turnabout Musical, but the Ace Attorney franchise as a whole. That's *amazing.*
The VAs who did Phoenix, and Maya’s voices are **BEAUTIFUL.** The chemistry in their voices are amazing. All of the other VAs did amazing but especially Miles Edgeworth’s VA. His voice is *insane*. Congratulations guys. You all did an amazing job 💖❤.
That was such a wild ride! I'm still recovering. Maya and Miles getting to talk about their pasts and realizing there's a connection? (I did not expect to shed a tear there.) Gumshoe joining the investigation squad in the boat shop? Having the conversation about the dream fade into just music so that the reveal on the trial's last day is a surprise to the audience as well? The studio version of "Who Killed Gregory Edgeworth" ? The incredibly gentle and sweet moment between Phoenix and Edgeworth during the 'not guilty' party? The reprise of "Here I Am" with the entire cast? There were so many good moments packed into this that I can't choose just one.
Also, that post-credits scene was incredible. That's the hardest I've laughed all week. Edit: Also also, it was fascinating to see all the little workarounds you guys included in order to make Grossberg's "unavailability" work in the story! Some of the exposition was in the diary, some came from Edgeworth, some from Von Karma, some from the DL-6 case file, some from Yogi. Streamlining the cast and having him in place of Hammond works well. Rip lemons though.
And I was shocked when I heard that Grossberg was the one who died on the boat and not Robert Hammond I was so shocked about that for some reason but then I just brushed it off and enjoyed the rest of the musical.
“You’re not alone…Miles. Your friends are here to help you through it. I’m here. (PHOENIX could take EDGEWORTH’s hand at this point.)” I can’t tell you how touched I was that was so fucking sweet. seriously, I loved part one, but the moments in this act really make it stand out for me. Edgeworth and Maya connecting, the Phoenix and Edgeworth hug, all of Gumshoe’s acts, both I’ll Be There Reprises, the glimpse of young miles as he sits, everytime edgeworth and Phoenix harmonized, (Payne’s closing song lmao)… UGH it was all so good and so worth the wait. You guys fucking killed it. Thank you so much for this.
I'm gonna be honest, having just finished this I'm a bit too overwhelmed to leave any super in depth comments. Which is a shame, because this was genuinely amazing and I'd love to go into detail about everything I loved about this. All the performances were amazing, all the changes made to make the story fit the stage were wonderfully done (making Grossberg the victim here surprised me a lot but really tied the two acts together), and all the new additions to the soundtrack were wonderful. And maybe the ending, and hearing Justice For All (Reprise) made me tear up a bit, well. Yeah.
So first off, let me just say, "YOU DID IT! Y'ALL HECKING DID IT!" This ended up being so much more incredible and amazing and much more well done than I ever could have imagined. I could go on, but I don't know that I have the words to describe just how much I love this. Sincerely, if this musical was an object, I'd be holding it in my hands and showing it off to you while saying, "Look at this. Look at this thing you helped make!" So, here's a list of some of the things I liked about Act II: -Gumshoe's devotion to Edgeworth. One of my favorite things about the original 1-4, and y'all adapted it so well. -Maya and Gumshoe being an investigation duo. AAI3 featuring Gumshoe and Maya solving cases together when? They're the buddy cop duo we need. -IGTBTB...just everything about that segment. It's already one of my favorite songs in Act II, and this rendition absolutely slapped. The visuals only enhanced the whole thing for me. -Yanni Yogi's seamless transition from sounding like Master Roshi to sounding like a bitter, broken man. The performance here was so well done. -All the Narumitsu moments. I personally ship it after T&T but god, the sexual tension between those two is so thick you can cut it with a knife. -Maya and Phoenix's friendship. I have always thought that Turnabout Goodbyes is where those two evolved from being acquaintances to absolute ride and dies. Maya literally taking a bullet for him and his reaction thereafter only solidifies that in my mind, especially with how it's done here. - Dawn and Bows my beloved
One day, TAAAM will be as dear to me as the scent of fresh lemons was to Grossberg. What an honor to have been a part of such a grand undertaking of a musical series I'd adored so much. Loved the changes that were made, all the way down to the after-credits scene. And there's almost always something new to pick up on upon a second rewatch! Incredible work, all. 🎉🎉
I don't leave comments often, but I must say, this is the most well-made and overall amazing Ace Attorney fan project I've ever had the pleasure of discovering. It's clear how there's a huge amount of passion, talent, and skill put into this. At this point, I know all songs in act 1 from heart, and I'm more than ready to rewatch act 2 seven thousand times a day just like I did with the first act when it was released. Also, the premiere of this is a few days after my birthday, so best late birthday gift ever!!! :)
I've never played ace attorney. That's all on my partner, a long-term fan who had me watch act 1 and act 2, and tells me lore regularly. But this was very, very good. and I am so impressed that this was a fan-created project!! I recognize how much work must have gone into it to make it this far, all of the people and moving parts involved, but you have such an impressively long finished product here that turned out very well! As far as my personal consumption of the media is concerned, this IS ace attorney to me.
I’ve only recently gotten into the Ace Attorney fandom, but my word, this is one of the best things I’ve ever seen. This truly reads like a love letter to the franchise, it’s just so good!
the way the stage directions phrased nick+miles talk at the party’s climax as “a embrace *OF SOME SORT *MAY** be shared here” and leaving that interpretation of what that embrace (or lack there of) is is so genius. Like, it could be a hand shake (scandalous from miles) or hug or more non platonic gestures, but it really leaves their ending to such a interesting “well what do you think they are??”. edit: ik for staging purposes they did this in order to fit each individual production’s needs/interprestions, but lemme appreciate the writing damnit
this so cool! I really would find it awesome if this entire musical was actually realized, the ace attorney fandom would go nuts! Personally, von Karma's introduction gave me goosebumps, the pure power in the music and the chorus (which was at least somewhere, where I could finally apply my latin knowledge-), I can imagine how this would absolutely captivate a live audience. I can't believe how underrated the videos are! You guys deserve a lot more
I honesty love this so much. The voice acting and singing were top tier! We need more of this awesome talent in the future. 100% would rewatch. Also Maya + Edgeworth is a duo I didn’t know I needed till now. “**I WAS IN A DAZE**” - The Demon Prosecutor
I just finished watching this, and I’m genuinely speechless. This is such an incredible production, all the changes from the original were so well done and it’s so clear how much everyone involved cared about these characters. I’ve ALWAYS wanted Maya and Edgeworth to bond more, and this did such an excellent job of showing their dynamic. You also made Maya such a complex character, and you gave her all the treatment she deserved in the original games! Her character means the world to me and you handled her so perfectly. And Edgeworth? Absolutely AMAZING. He really deserved to have a good talk with Phoenix After the trial, the scene between those two was so sweet and so emotional. Him confronting von Karma was such a great choice as well! And Phoenix. Oh man his character in this is INCREDIBLE, he’s such a reliable person and silly while also being incredibly smart and I love how this production showed both sides of that. The ending with all the characters was so emotional, nostalgic, and just so sweet and it made me endlessly happy. All the voice actors did so so incredible, the EMOTIONS! There’s just simply no way for me to fully express how truly amazing and faithful this production is. Amazing job to everyone, and so much respect to the editors for the video. The added fanart was adorable and really brought in that sense of community. Amazing job as always to every single person involved!
Lowkey was emotional and crying by the end of the musical. I love the Ace Attorney series and I love what you did I hope you keep up at it and do one for T&T too. I love what you did with Edgeworth's character. A lot of his development does happen off screen in the games so I love what you did here. Also love how Gumshoe is such a bro in this one. He always has been but a lot of adaptations I've seen painted him more like a comic relief. But man, such a bro. I also love the justice you gave to Mia's character and how important she is to the whole series. It made me emotional hearing Mia and Maya's and Mia and Wright's duets. Oof. Will definitely listen to this again!
Also they definitely gave Maya a way better role, getting to grieve about Mia as well as doing much more in general. the last scene of her leaving meant so much more and made much more sense for her character since it was explored well throughout the whole thing.
@@IdioticReference Yes! For sure! They gave Maya more justice than the official Japanese Ace Attorney movie did who made Maya into an emotional "huhu, I'm uselessly grieving my sister. I also don't have a real personality".
THOUGHTS THROUGHOUT (editing it while watching!) - AGH omg the repetition of “one lingering thought” is SO. GOOD. - “Are you afraid of the truth, Edgeworth?” *DL-6 theme* AGHHH - THE NOODLE STORE SONG. OH MY GOD. - THE RETURN OF “wHaT LAwN 🥲” YES - I love the way the backstory was handled here!! Phoenix and Maya laughing a little at the absurdity of it all but Maya still being supportive even when she teases him is so sweet, I love them both sm - STEEL SAMURAI??? MILES AND MAYA BONDING????? YES. - I like that the vacation line (regarding von Karma) was changed to finalizing adoption papers. Miles’s trauma responses and everything are much more obvious when it’s clear that von Karma wasn’t just his teacher, he was also his guardian. - PHOENIX SWITCHING TO A SOUTHERN ACCENT TO TALK TO LOTTA I CANNOT OMG BAHAHA 😭😭😭 - “That you need Mia now, not me?” ABFHSHHFHS NOOOO 😭😭😭 - Gumshoe and Mia talking aggghhh 🥺🥺🥺 - OH MY GOD GUMSHOE EXPLAINING HOW EDGEWORTH’S LANGUAGE WORKS 😭😭😭😭 - SOBBING AT GUMSHOE AND MAYA’S INTERACTIONS OH MY GOD - THEY’RE GONNA FIND ANSWERS TOGETHER THEY’RE GONNA BE HEROES I LOVE THIS CHANGE THIS IS AMAZING Y’ALL FIXED EVERYTHING ABOUT THEIR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT THAT WAS MISSING FROM THE GAMES - HAHAHA PASTA SHOP - LARRY’S “WAAAAAIIIIIT” HAHAHA - “Completely questionable!!” Pffft- - I love that y’all made this more collaborative between the characters- they all have an important part to play and they’re all important 🥺 - HAHAHA THE PERJURY THREAT FOR THE PICKET FENCE THING OMG - Edgeworth doing the “when something smells” line is so good haha - “because if she’s available…” HAHAHA - THE SPONTANEOUS PARTY LIGHTS??? - like a “KILLER DRUMMIN RIFF” *drum image* IM DYING - IM CRYING AT THE BACKGROUND IMAGES AND LARRY’S VOICE THIS IS SO F-CKING FUNNY - “Almost Christmassss” HELP - BAHAHAHA BOTH PROSECUTORS SINGING - “I recall just like it was yesterdayy” “IT WAS T U E S D A Y” - THE CONFETTI? I love him - The conversation between Nick and Maya after the stun gun 🥺 “thank you for being here” AAAA - Baby Miles’s cries in the elevator echoing in the background,,,,,,, 😭 - “I’ve got you.” AGH 🥺 - NOO THE ATTEMPTED MANIPULATION FROM VON KARMA. - “You’re not my father. I will make a longer comment later because AAA but oh my god
Ace Attorney have the most powerful fans indeed. I did not expect a whole 3-and-a-half-hour fan musical with insanely good vocals, but this is soooo good!! It's like an audio musical drama, this is the best thing ever. Kudos to all creators and cast members.
This is so amazing, everything is so well written and cohesive, I can't fully express how great this is. Thank you so much to everyone who worked on this and decided to share it for the world to see. 💖💖💖
watching the premiere was SUCH a treat omg, act II sent me straight back into my ace attorney hyperfixation and i'm not even complaining... the visuals, vocals, and the music in general were SO good i will 100% be watching this a million times over like I did with act I
Fine. I was just scrolling through AA animatic (trying to cope after finishing tgaa) and I somehow ended up here. Didn't expected anything, left dumbfounded at the end. Thoughts on the two acts : Fight like a Fey almost made me cry, the choir is really going crazy and I love it, there's so luch part with people singing different line at the same times and it all fits si well, can I marry Maya's VA her voice is so peak?, I wasn't ready for those little modifications here and there I especially love those Miles-Maya interactions. Like that little bit in detention center where Edgeworth finally tense down a little and ADMITS TO BE A STEEL SAMURAI FANBOY ? like he ZAID it oh my god. It never happened in canon but it should've. I wish we'll someday saw them mention it to each other (Phoenix will never know though) YOU MADE A SONG FOR THE PASTA SHOP this sent me xD And what else... I love Edgeworth voice acting all along. It might not be my headcannon voice flr him, nor hiw I heard his tone in my head, but every line was so emotional, from that panicked objection in act 1 (dude was here like "what am I doing. Can someone tell me what I am doing. I'm screwed." But did it anyway oh how I love Miles Edgeworth), to... everything in act 2. And the way he scolds Maya like he was her father xD Also I love those Gumshoe scenes, he got a bit more cool moment than in game and he deserved it. The Maggey inclusion too ! Everyone's power and high notes were impressive, too. Larry's last high note-- LARRY'S SONG WHAT WAS THAT. REALLY WHAT WAS THAT. XD I almost forgot but my greatest respect to you who voice acted the parrot. It lust have been challenging, but somehow it was perfect. Oh and the kids' voices of those three were on point (9 y.o Miles manners of speech fascinates me) And that's everything I can think about on the top of my head That's already a damn lot EMERGENCY EDIT I FORGOT TO MENTION HOW GAY WRIGHTWORTH WERE. I love how soft Wright voice turned during the last part of the trials while talking ot Miles, and same for Miles' voice during that scene i.n the office. They're sweet.
THERE ARE NO WORDS FOR HOW AWESOME THIS MUSICAL WAS I LOVED IT SO MUCH AND I CANT WAIT FOR IT GAIN TRACTION THIS GENUINELY MADE ME CRY MY LOVE GOES OUT TO THE WHOLE TEAM THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PUTTING ON THIS PRODUCTION
Took me a while to realise this was up, but this is just as good as Act 1, if not better! I absolutely loved every part of it, and once again, I have compiled a list of things I loved while watching (Apologies once again for the length): - Intro music and art is already making me hyped - Today I learned the names listed in Redd White Adieu are parts of the crew, that's pretty neat - 2 minutes in and I'm already in severe pain, thanks - Maya has her priorities, we still love to see it - Alone is incredible and I am now going to cry - I'm loving the repeated motif from Decree of the Prosecutor (is motif the right word? I don't know, I don't know music) - Lana's part of Guilty Convictions is so good - Gumshoe my beloved - Phoenix is just trying his best someone help him - Somehow the kids chanting is terrifying - There's a noticeable amount of repetition throughout, which could link back to the connections this case has with the past and all that - 'YOU'RE TEARING ME APART ANGEL' - 'I don't think scanning a person is gonna help' oh how little you know - The change from Hammond to Grossberg is incredibly interesting, yet it works so well - How dare Von Karma have such a good song - I like the way multiple people singing has been handled this time round - 'Boot to the head' - The original Fight Like a Fey made me cry, the reprise has now put me into cardiac arrest, thanks - It's really nice to see Maya getting more focus in this case than usual - Larry has his priorities, we have mixed feelings about seeing it - The ending of It's Gotta Be the Butz! is so incredibly silly I love it - The tension in the Records Room is encapsulated perfectly - Phoenix's sounds of pain genuinely freaked me out, good job to his voice actor - Tomorrow, At Last is SO good - The parrot scene still exists - The chorus' part of Who Killed Gregory Edgeworth? sounds similar to Pursuit specifically when they're convinced Edgeworth did it, love that attention to detail - Edgeworth's voice actor did such a good job, props - 'You're not my father. You killed my father.' legitimately gave me chills - The reprise of Justice For All was absolutely brilliant, a great conclusion for the case - 'The one with the funky hair' - The boys get to hug - Dawn made me cry, thanks once again - The ending art is so good -While I was typing this, the post-credits song jumpscared me, and so I am obligated to mention it Overall, this musical was absolutely amazing - it's probably one of my favourites. It's obvious that so much love was poured into it, and the end result was beautiful. Thanks for creating this, and I hope all of the crew can rest easy knowing they did a good job
This was so fucking good! Both the fanart and the voice cast enhanced one of the best cases in the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy! Also, as someone who enjoyed part 1 of this, I loved the callbacks to certain songs.
P:your prints were on the gun? M:i-i believe we've established that... P:YOUR PRINTS WERE ON THE GUN?! M:I WAS IN A DAZE! all: when something smells its gotta be MVK: that man needs a lobotomy... all: when something smells its gotta be the butz! P: what you gunna do, cut my pay? M: ABSOLUTELY >:(
I don't know what to add that isn't already said in this comment section. Just put this is the most amazing thing I've seen in a while and the amount of effort that was put into this shows. I loved it!
I'm so proud of the whole team. This is one of the best fanworks ever put to screen. This was worth the wait. Congratulations you guys!!! I'm still sopping up tears from this. ❤❤❤
"You callin' me a liar?"
"I ain't callin' you a truther!"
I just realized something. You know how stress can cause premature aging?
You know how Miles Edgeworth is in his twenties?

that's why Oldbag is after him isn't it.

Miles: "Uhh I think we've established that."
Phoenix: "YOUR PRINTS WERE ON THE GUN?!"
Miles: "I WAS IN A DAZE!"
Iconic
My 2nd favourite scene in this entire thing
I cackled 😂
one of my favourite lines, its so well said by the actors
I WAS IN A DAZE!!
“What are you gonna do? Cut my pay?”
“Absolutely!!”
lotta: "the one with the funky hair"
**Phoenix and Edgeworth both look at each other**
BRO THAT MOMMENT MADE ME LAUGH, I MEAN C'MON THEIR HAIR IS SO UNATURAL-
i swear to god when edgeworth called wright "phoenix" i yelled and hyperventilated i love them they are so totally straight yup
ngl if the pasta shop jingle was an actual jingle for an actual pasta shop i'd actually go there.
PASTA IN YOUR HAAAAAAAIR
@@Honkailmpact3rd PASTA SHOOOOP PASTA EVERY WHERE
I left my phone on autoplay while falling asleep and so I wake up in the morning to *”WHO KILLED GREGORY EDGEWORTH?”*
Baby Miles in the class trial sounds like he's putting on a voice to sound professional...that's adorable
NOT EDGEWORTH BEING COMPLETELY READY TO ROAST MAYA ON. THE. SPOT!
So many musicians overlook the WONDROUS MUSICAL POTENTIAL of the intensely emotional voice crack
I can't believe they made an actual game series based on this, that's so cool!
This really deserves a proper Broadway production
Yeah, I wish we would get the stage plays they run in Japan.
I actually SPIT OUT MY DRINK at the victim reveal
I took the Latin from Anything To Win and fiddled with Google Translate, and it's pretty interesting. For the most part, the Latin chorus is saying the same thing von Karma is saying, but it deviates in places. important way:
"Blind justice must be taught;
I cannot sin;
*Now he is condemned,*
I keep the perfection of my truth;
No peace, quiet, truth, faith;
*_although Miles is innocent;_*
but I always know how to win."
When Manfred von Karma says the line "my case is clearly perfect," the chorus says "but Miles is innocent."
ATTENTION TO DETAIL. NICE.
Also, if I type "Miles" it translates to soldier, and if I type "Mīles" it translates to love. I don't think it's relevant to this song in particular but it's still neat
17:57 ''what junk?'' ''what kids?'' ''what lawn?'' LOL
At LEAST one person in the Turnabout writing room ships Wrightworth LMFAO
I KNOW RIGHT?
I love it that you guys made Maya and Edgeworth friends.
THIS GREATLY PLEASES THE AUTISM WIZARD.
When Edgeworth and Phoenix hugged, i knew this was perfect. Edgeworth mustve been so grateful and happy.
The first name usage and the Wrightworth hug had me squealing and rolling on the floor like a high schooler X3
actually crying at the epilogue oh my goodness. and the “You’re not my father.” UGH the added intimate dialogue between all the characters is so good, SO GOOD. and the underscoring is incredibly clever.
Lotta Butz is also a great AA pun name... I can get behind it
0:20 The Dies Irae! A part of a Gregorian hymn associated with death in pop culture.
"or something equally epic." 💀
Von karma banging his head while Payne sings is such a mood
Rookie Killer needs to be in the playlist, it's clearly the greatest song of all time
Can we all agree that the post-credits scene is canon? Because I think the idea of Winston Payne of all characters being the one who gets Von Karma convicted is too hilarious and satisfying to not have him ultimately lose to the guy who couldn't outsmart a fish sandwich.
Yes absolute
Thanks for informing me of this scene's existence, I usually click off after the train station song. This was worth it!
Its Canon now
I prefer to imagine Edgeworth prosecuting.
They make us who we are.”
This is a quote that I still use to this day. The fact that this story has that much of an impact on me speaks volumes about the writing of this!
"What are you gonna do, cut my pay?"😂😂
My favorite part was probably Edgeworth bonding with Maya over the DL-6, that was soooo needed 😢❤❤ wonderful work 🎉🎉
27:30 Those appear to be tear stains on the diary. Amazing attention to detail
Man, the voices for Phoenix and Edgeworth are just what I imagined!
The harmonization and vocals are just amazing, this deserves more recognition, I'm smiling like an idiot 😭💗
This is my headcanon Phoenix voice. Mornal's still my Edgeworth voice though.
Actually very fond of Von Karma trying to take his anger out on Miles once realising he had truly lost
Also the end with Wright and Edgeworth felt like “idk maybe we could hold hands? Maybe date or something?”
Phoenix Wright: What are you gonna do? Cut my pay?
Miles Edgeworth: Absolutely!
LMAO 1:27:17
Amazing. Various specific things
-love how the prologue is done to reflect Miles emotional experience- in the game there’s this mystery and ambiguity of who the two voices are but here there’s mystery and ambiguity created by the shifts in space and time
-decree being the new “wright wright wright” suggests decree was diegetic which is very funny and in character for miles
-the adaptational changes are so great
-Larry mentioning he was there and Yogi using the facade of the annoying dementia sufferer to prevent phoenix from finding out more
-nice, parallels
-THE REFERENCE TO THE ROOM!!!! unexpected Venn diagram of my interests
-“I don’t think scanning a person is going to help” HA
-rip grossberg. I understand this adaptational change it makes sense to simplify the number of characters involved in DL-6, much like removing April and establishing Lotta last case, but rip
-maya🤝miles
DL6 trauma & steel samurai fandom
-gavs performance is absolutely perfect, highlight this bit when he’s recapping his greatest trauma and clearly trying so hard to remain unemotional
-MVK VILLAIN SONG!!!! I listened to the other versions of this song because I was impatiently curious about the leitmotif that appeared a couple times in act 1 tied to the phrase “perfection is the life I must lead”, but this is in my opinion the best version
-I’ve thought for some time and talked to my friend/beta reader about the comparison between MvK and Frollo from Hunchback of Notre Dame (villainous character who has and abuses the power to get people executed; adopted and manipulated the son of his murder victim; the main difference is that MvK doesn’t have an Esmeralda) and the vibes are really here in this voice and song. The chanting chorus just like hellfire except here he has no doubts
-it’s so fucking funny in the games too how MvK acts like he owns the court and you’ve really captured that so well
-I’ve mentioned how the plot is compressed very cleverly to suit the new medium, this continues to be true
-gumshoe teaching maya to speak tsundere lol
-LARRY
-IGBTB has some syllable stress that doesn’t match the scansion of the rhythm but because it’s Larry it works, and this mistake is rare through the rest of the show so I think it may be a stylistic choice here
-when WKGE transitions into the game music melody
-I like how the breakdown scene is done here
-did I catch a random veiled Star Wars reference?!?
-that low note on the reprised “anything to win” my god
-RFTA sequel hook?!?!
-NARUMITSU REAL
-amazing musical amazing adaptation I love it
Larry/Lotta is such a weird ship that I am 100% here for
Those two are the silliest, I understand why they were shipped
it will most likely end up horribly but i love it none the less
@@IdioticReferenceI mean Cindy did some.. questionable stuff
@@IdioticReference i love it because i know it can only end horribly
THE ENDING SONG WAS A COMBINATION OF PHOENIX AND EDGEWORTH'S LEITMOTIFS
Maybe?
Edgeworth: ~~Phoenix ❤ -sweet as hell -
Me, the one that has been shipping this two guys since i played the game 15 years ago.
My heart shattered and repaired once again when I saw young Miles Edgeworth holding a book and Phoenix reminiscing about him AHHHH
Then the part where von Karma switched up and started pleading to his "son" Miles only for him to point as a defense attorney and stand his ground oh boi I SCREAMED!!
Just watched the post-credits scene and I am internally howling with laughter
I love that “what lawn?!” came back from Act I 18:02
I was looking for this comment thank you
When Phoenix tells Maya he appreciates her and how he admires her actions and how he worries about her??
We had to pay respect to the classics
I mean it isn't a surprise Gumshoe was part of the Boat Shop investigation. The anime version had him in there as well.
And I was shocked when I heard that Grossberg was the one who died on the boat and not Robert Hammond I was so shocked about that for some reason but then I just brushed it off and enjoyed the rest of the musical.
“You’re not alone…Miles. Your friends are here to help you through it. I’m here. (PHOENIX could take EDGEWORTH’s hand at this point.)”
I can’t tell you how touched I was that was so fucking sweet. seriously, I loved part one, but the moments in this act really make it stand out for me.
Pasta Shop! Now serving existential dread and lifelong regrets!
OOOOOOOOHHHHH Pasta Shop! Regrets everywhere! Pasta Shop! Regrets in your hair!
Yeah.
Also, I will be thinking of 'an embrace of some sort' for possibly the rest of my life, so thank you for that.
I screamed when Phoenix called Miles by his first name. AASFJKLDHD
I also screamed when Miles called Phoenix by his first name. AHSAHKLFSGLDKAH
I almost did
I would totally watch a live-action version of this
the line of "i was in a daze!!" got me, i can imagine Edgeworth saying that
I love the cuts back to the live performance during "It's Gotta Be the Butz's final chorus."
Look at this thing you helped make!"
So, here's a list of some of the things I liked about Act II:
-Gumshoe's devotion to Edgeworth.
And what incredible work you did, Chara! Thank you so much ❤️
I don't leave comments often, but I must say, this is the most well-made and overall amazing Ace Attorney fan project I've ever had the pleasure of discovering.
"Distinguished members of the court (and Manfred von Karma),"
I also don't have a real personality".
this is an amazing musical i wish this would be done for the 3rd game

- STEEL SAMURAI??? MILES AND MAYA BONDING????? YES.
- I like that the vacation line (regarding von Karma) was changed to finalizing adoption papers. Miles’s trauma responses and everything are much more obvious when it’s clear that von Karma wasn’t just his teacher, he was also his guardian.

WAIT YOU CAN HEAR KID MILES CRYING??? (Timestamp?)
Ace Attorney have the most powerful fans indeed. I did not expect a whole 3-and-a-half-hour fan musical with insanely good vocals, but this is soooo good!! It's like an audio musical drama, this is the best thing ever. Kudos to all creators and cast members.
I wasn't expecting to find anything fairly Wrightworth here, but I think more of us know that those two are canon and it is inevitable
This is so amazing, everything is so well written and cohesive, I can't fully express how great this is. Thank you so much to everyone who worked on this and decided to share it for the world to see. 💖💖💖
Thank YOU so much!
"I apologize for trying to get you convicted"
"Oh yes...... About that"

WHAT LAWN
This was unbelievably good. Genuinely well done to all people involved.
Winston Payne got to win a case, good for him.
watching the premiere was SUCH a treat omg, act II sent me straight back into my ace attorney hyperfixation and i'm not even complaining... the visuals, vocals, and the music in general were SO good i will 100% be watching this a million times over like I did with act I
Fine. I was just scrolling through AA animatic (trying to cope after finishing tgaa) and I somehow ended up here. Didn't expected anything, left dumbfounded at the end.
Thoughts on the two acts : Fight like a Fey almost made me cry, the choir is really going crazy and I love it, there's so luch part with people singing different line at the same times and it all fits si well, can I marry Maya's VA her voice is so peak?, I wasn't ready for those little modifications here and there
I especially love those Miles-Maya interactions. Like that little bit in detention center where Edgeworth finally tense down a little and ADMITS TO BE A STEEL SAMURAI FANBOY ? like he ZAID it oh my god. It never happened in canon but it should've. I wish we'll someday saw them mention it to each other (Phoenix will never know though)
YOU MADE A SONG FOR THE PASTA SHOP this sent me xD
And what else... And the way he scolds Maya like he was her father xD
Also I love those Gumshoe scenes, he got a bit more cool moment than in game and he deserved it. The Maggey inclusion too !
Everyone's power and high notes were impressive, too. Larry's last high note-- LARRY'S SONG WHAT WAS THAT. REALLY WHAT WAS THAT. XD
I almost forgot but my greatest respect to you who voice acted the parrot. It lust have been challenging, but somehow it was perfect.
Oh and the kids' voices of those three were on point (9 y.o Miles manners of speech fascinates me)
And that's everything I can think about on the top of my head
That's already a damn lot
EMERGENCY EDIT I FORGOT TO MENTION HOW GAY WRIGHTWORTH WERE. I love how soft Wright voice turned during the last part of the trials while talking ot Miles, and same for Miles' voice during that scene i.n the office. They're sweet.
25:30 ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT
Lol Grossberg becoming the victim shocked me x""D it sure was unexpected
The gallery going crazy to the tune of Cornered is so freaking clever I love it.
It's almost almost Christmas which means it's time to rewatch IGBTB
Took me a while to realise this was up, but this is just as good as Act 1, if not better! I absolutely loved every part of it, and once again, I have compiled a list of things I loved while watching (Apologies once again for the length):
- Intro music and art is already making me hyped
- Today I learned the names listed in Redd White Adieu are parts of the crew, that's pretty neat
- 2 minutes in and I'm already in severe pain, thanks
- Maya has her priorities, we still love to see it
- Alone is incredible and I am now going to cry
- I'm loving the repeated motif from Decree of the Prosecutor (is motif the right word? I don't know, I don't know music)
- Lana's part of Guilty Convictions is so good
- Gumshoe my beloved
- Phoenix is just trying his best someone help him
- Somehow the kids chanting is terrifying
- There's a noticeable amount of repetition throughout, which could link back to the connections this case has with the past and all that
- 'YOU'RE TEARING ME APART ANGEL'
- 'I don't think scanning a person is gonna help' oh how little you know
- The change from Hammond to Grossberg is incredibly interesting, yet it works so well
- How dare Von Karma have such a good song
- I like the way multiple people singing has been handled this time round
- 'Boot to the head'
- The original Fight Like a Fey made me cry, the reprise has now put me into cardiac arrest, thanks
- It's really nice to see Maya getting more focus in this case than usual
- Larry has his priorities, we have mixed feelings about seeing it
- The ending of It's Gotta Be the Butz! is so incredibly silly I love it
- The tension in the Records Room is encapsulated perfectly
- Phoenix's sounds of pain genuinely freaked me out, good job to his voice actor
- Tomorrow, At Last is SO good
- The parrot scene still exists
- The chorus' part of Who Killed Gregory Edgeworth? sounds similar to Pursuit specifically when they're convinced Edgeworth did it, love that attention to detail
- Edgeworth's voice actor did such a good job, props
- 'You're not my father. You killed my father.' legitimately gave me chills
- The reprise of Justice For All was absolutely brilliant, a great conclusion for the case
- 'The one with the funky hair'
- The boys get to hug
- Dawn made me cry, thanks once again
- The ending art is so good
-While I was typing this, the post-credits song jumpscared me, and so I am obligated to mention it
Overall, this musical was absolutely amazing - it's probably one of my favourites. It's obvious that so much love was poured into it, and the end result was beautiful. Thanks for creating this, and I hope all of the crew can rest easy knowing they did a good job
Thank you so very much!! (And we love reading stuff like this, no worries 😅❤)
M:I WAS IN A DAZE!
all: when something smells its gotta be
MVK: that man needs a lobotomy...
all: when something smells its gotta be the butz!
P: what you gunna do, cut my pay?
M: ABSOLUTELY >:(
The greatness of this musical has saddled me with unnecessary… feelings.
I don't know what to add that isn't already said in this comment section. Just put this is the most amazing thing I've seen in a while and the amount of effort that was put into this shows.
I loved it!
45:25 "boot to the head" oh my gosh, what a reference
I'm so proud of the whole team. This is one of the best fanworks ever put to screen. This was worth the wait. Congratulations you guys!!! I'm still sopping up tears from this. ❤❤❤
