Missed you last week, so pleased that you are back, I needed a Naomi fix. You needed a people fix and you got it. It was nice to see your smile and light heart. Life is like baseball. Sometimes you get a base hit and even a home run, other times you strike out. You win some and loose some and sometimes you get rained out. Spin those wheels beautiful lady. As always thanks for taking us along.

So kind! YOU NAILED IT! I really did without realizing it since I'm really a loner. Probably because they taught me a lot and I ate real food and sat in a chair. 😂 SO impressed with the kid's setup for going across the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! I mean - geez - talk about a minimalist! So appreciate your comments! Thank you!

When I bike tour I take a small folding chair, without the stuff sack (4 oz.).You can relax the back. The extra weight and bulk are worth it to me but most of my miles are on pavement.

That's really nice - I own a small one but wouldn't have worked for me on this trip. Well maybe - if I didn't take a freaking RAFT! 😂 Between last season and this one I'm learning a lot about what type of trips to create in my future.

All my tent pegs have orange reflective cord loops on them.

This new journey seems fun! In my opinion, the Sawtooths are some of the best scenery in all of Idaho. Hard to see the best spots by bike since it gets pretty steep to some of those high mountain lakes. Your plan to backpack it will make a fun new adventure to add to your list. I'm sure you dried out quickly once you got back to Boise. It's those challenges that make the beautiful moments all the better by contrast. Thanks for sharing!

You're so funny! Yes wet mornings suck. Oh yeah ants want sugar so be careful. Wet and cold is the miserable part of these parties but somebody has to do it.
How does the beet powder work? If it tastes like beets then Ugh! The nitric oxide effect might be a game changer tho.
Looks like Galena Lodge is a treasure! Bike shop too? Sweet! I said "No way!" When you walked inside.
So you're poking at the grasshoppers while they were doing some poking of their own, then asked if you were 'screwing' something up?🤣
It's super hard riding and hiking rocky steep singletrack packing all that gear, so those nasty techy trails you ride in southern Utah on Strava surely helps a little to keep the rubber side down.
    Great episode!

"ants want sugar so be careful" Very witty of you J.D.! 👏 I was truly spoiled last season with 51 days of awesome weather and only lots of moisture my first few days. Incredible. Really changed the rhythm of a trip for me. It does taste like beets because it's beets. 😉 I talk about it in one of the food prep videos at the beginning of this season but to summarize...it helps increase blood flow is TOTALLY works! I was just as shocked as you about there being a bike shop. Yes - a truly sincere dork moment but those who know me just roll their eyes with a giggle. "There's Naomi talking to bugs again!" HA!

What a treat to sit down at lunch and have you entertain me. Glad you had a happy time at Galena Lodge between your camping rantings. Backpackers and Thru hikers use a Talenii (sic) ice cream plastic jar and lid to cold soak their ramen or oatmeal for a couple of hours while hiking. You could do the same. You would have to eat the ice cream first. Not a problem for you. Ride On.

Naomi, I can’t believe you don’t like camping. That’s the best part of bikepacking. I am just entering the sport. Your 2021 trip was a huge inspiration and helped me chose equipment for my first bikepacking adventure.
As you can tell from my UA-cam Handle, I am not new to overland travel and camping, so the transition to bikepacking isn’t that hard for me… what is hard is settling on new gear. With 30 years of accumulated car camping and backpacking gear it has been hard for me to justify bikepacking specific equipment. Most of the summer I have been making my own gear bags because no one sells the bags with the features I want for a price I can actually afford.
I am hoping to hit the road next Friday for my first multi-night adventure. The plan is to ride the Wallow Mountain Loop (North East Oregon) with my own dentures. My ride is a 2022 Trek 520 Grando that has been heavily upgraded.
Keep the rubber down, breeze to your back, and see you on your next drop. Keep it real Naomi, love your channel.

I also don't have a history of being an EXPERT and don't buy subs, comments, views...etc. A common practice for some which is obvious if you look at comments/likes against subs.
