Not sure if I'll get the whole way through this podcast but if there was video of the two people talking, I'd be a lot more likely to watch these things.
At this point Dutton would say anything to get back into power and it seems extremely doubtful that the coalition would implement divestiture powers and at the same time Albo seems to be a total let down writing them off as communist policy. It would make complete sense to implement divestiture powers while they have bipartisan support but Albo seems to have interests in these companies remaining oligopolies.
In the case of coles and woolworths, there is also a problem with how they treat their suppliers as well as customers. They demand to their suppliers to do it for less to the point where farmers leave markets, them turn to us and raise prices. We need to protect of farmers and food industry from cheap imports as well. It's not free trade it comes with cost to our community, lost jobs paying a good wage.
What we are not looking at are the Indian and other Asian stores .There is no onigopoly for these stores yet they survive in healthy competition.Why does local government pay a blind eye to simple things that are right in front of you and learn from them
As far as banking and insurance goes one very effective way of forcing prices down would be for the federal and state government to enter the market again. They could operate at a minimum profit, barely covering costs. The post office network plus online would be very effective in capturing a very large part of the market, also they could cater more to low income earners offering lower fees and chargers and lower premiums.
As for other companies such as supermarkets breaking up the company is a bit soft really as the people behind them get off free. It's the CEOs CFOs board members and senior management that are the authors of these schemes. So they should face substantial fines based on a % of the amount of extra profit made by inflating prices, hit'm where it hurts.
Raising the tax free threshold to something like 25k and closing the tax loopholes to stop corporation paying zero tax would be another plus.
Little known fact- Dutton was really popular and a big 'player' at school and all the chicks wanted to have his baby.......NOT!!!!!
Not sure what your point is but if you didn't know Dutton is not running the country so who gives a rats arse.

Shouldn't this picture of how profiteering behavior by specific interests be extended to the Religions and Law Firms, who display similar (Control Fraud) business models, but cover their actions either in superstitious beliefs and/or mafia-like media silence on selected topics.

Not relative to each other though. You rarely, if ever, find a coffee shop providing low prices for very long if they also provide good quality and service. If your coffee has gone up it's because the production/running costs have too
