Many directors are passionate about what they do, but no director forms these kinds of relationships and a family like David does. Naomi Watts, Laura Dern, Harry Dean Stanton, Kyle MacLachlan, they all appear in many of his works and they all have such positive things to say. He not only cares about making his artistic vision come to life but you can tell her cares about what happens behind the scenes and becomes a father figure or a best friend to many actors. Sure, there are other people like this, but David seems the most compassionate and caring.
Most actors David has been working with have become his friends and have endless admiration and gratefulness to him. What a wonderful human being he is.
A lot of people think of David Lynch as being weird or cryptic but to me he’s probably the most sincere and rational person on the planet. He’s just sharing his ideas with us through his art. Ideas and dreams are often illogical and don’t seem to make any sense. I think it’s amazing how he’s able to take an abstract thought and give it physical form.
It’s crazy what happens when a director actually understands art rather than making just some professional, well made product for a studio. The way that there is a palpable cohesion in a lot of the imagery, aesthetics, and themes of Lynch’s work is so enriching. The music, lighting, color palettes, placeless locations, unique and quirky characters, and esoteric themes all unite to create this specific aesthetic that’s all Lynch’s own.
It honestly bothers me so damn much that people say his work makes no sense because once you get the full picture you can clearly see the story, feeling and idea’s he’s going for
@@reservoirfrogs2177 I agree except for Lost Highway cause I never got a clear picture of what he was going for and just kinda hated the film except for three scenes in it that I loved with their executions. I love how this started as a bunch of "random lol" clips, but its actually a wholesome and heartwarming love letter to Lynch and everything he stands for. Amazing work.
the for your consideration thing was so heartwarming, like he didn't have the budget for it so he just did what he can. thats like something a dad would do for you in a sitcom or something 😢
@@redjakOfficial Keep in mind, we're mainly talking about Laura Dern's performance. The movie as a whole is pretty dreamlike in its thematic insanity, but hey, it's Lynch and we all knew that going in.
Ive become obsessed with him, so many great artists from different mediums get so involved in their own ideas they lose track of their goal in the first place. Lynch creates such terrifying, surreal, and expository movies, but still manages to come off as so genuine and positive in such a charming way. It makes me love his work that much more. There's something to be said for the perpetual pessimism of the jaded artist, but Lynch shows us the dark in the world so we can appreciate the beauty, and it reflects in his personality.
This started out as a "David Lynch without context" super cut and ends up morphing into what could be considered a micro essay about creativity. Bravo!
If you were at a party with David Lynch you'd definitely know who he is and what to expect Apparently when he directs his borderline psychotic (and fantastic) movies he's always laughing his ass off. To him they're jet-black comedies

Not like that bully David O Russell
Jack Nance as well- he was one of those actors Lynch loved
@@odw_99 "Wrapped in plastic!"
Adam Sandler has that family. He always works with his buddies. Everyone have great time on set. Just that his films are shitty most of the time. Lol
Kurosawa was like that too.
Someone had a theory that Lost Highway was a critique on people stealing his work instead of using it as inspiration which I can get behind but as for the story itself I have no fucking clue.
I love how this started as a bunch of "random lol" clips, but its actually a wholesome and heartwarming love letter to Lynch and everything he stands for. Amazing work.
@Ken H. You know absolutely nothing about David Lynch if you think he is a member of the Hollywood pedo crowd.
Both Thompson and Lynch could make a snuff at a maternity without their messages being a quantum bit affected.
As for certainty, I'm uncertain.

He's right: Laura Dern did deserve an Oscar for Inland Empire.
Absolutely did. She knocked that outta the park.

Sadly not enough people have seen that movie
I need to watch it again. Even as a Lynch fan, I got kind of a hard time with this one.

@@budusbusham3324 cause its garbage....plus his films were always a bit too obscure....modern cinema wouldn't get it lol
Bravo!
Ha. Great. Lynch seems like a great guy to invite to a dinner party, but whom you'd probably warn your others guests "he's eccentric."
And definitely won't go home.
If you were at a party with David Lynch you'd definitely know who he is and what to expect
Apparently when he directs his borderline psychotic (and fantastic) movies he's always laughing his ass off. To him they're jet-black comedies
i aspire to be such a man
Better to warn him about how square the other guests might be. And he'd reply, "That's fine, I'm used to it."
