Shane: "You'd think the planets closer to the Imperial Palace would be more loyal, you know?" Alderaan and the other core worlds that helped found the Rebellion: Are we a joke to you?
@@ComicCrossing It's completely possible to benefit from an evil system and still be opposed to it on principle. A lot of core planets like Naboo, Chandrilla, and Alderaan, the ones that founded the Delegation of 2000 during the Clone Wars, held very deep cultural and philosophical beliefs in the concept of free and fair democracy, and those didn't just go away after a few years of the Empire giving them shiny stuff. (Not to mention that most of those worlds were already rich anyway, so while they did benefit from the peace and economic growth of the Empire, it's not like they had been badly off in the first place either)
Nice play through guys. So far, I noticed the following: 1) at 30:16, you said that if you play one mission card in a system, you cannot attempt another mission in that same system during the round. There is no limit to the number of missions you can attempt in any one system. 2) at 16:50 you stated the leader who was already present in the system (he activated the system during the command phase) does not count. I'm not sure what his icons were, but if he had icons that matched the mission (in this case, diplomacy) he would indeed assist the leader on the actual mission. In addition, any leaders from the opposite side already present in the system would also oppose the mission. I don't know if this is addressed later in the video, so I may be jumping the gun. If so, my apologies.
So glad they've finally played this! It's been taunting me whenever I see it in the background on the shelf in vids! Love this game, but sadly don't get to play it too often. I painted all the minis, which look awesome when playing! Hope they play Outer Rim too at some point, another excellent game!

There was a mistake by Imperials in the 1st phase. When they moved their fleet from Coruscant to the neariest system, they also landed a ground troops on that planet. So when they did such thing, they automatically should ask Rebels if there is a Rebel Base there and (if not) also automatically any ground Imperial unit on a planets surface makes this system enslaved by Empire so they should put a marker there :>
You can only cash in one Objective card (non-combat) during the refresh phase. Even if you've managed to complete more than one, you can only choose a single card and must wait until the next refresh phase to play the next one (assuming the objective is still currently and actively completed)
2:23:55 The card says (not literally): If no death star is destroyed, take the card back in your hand and try again rolling direct hits after the next space battle step. Repeat until there is no fighter left or a death star destroyed.
Shenanigans! 1. Rapid Mobilization says to resolve at the END of the mobilization phase not immediately. 2. When revealing the rebel base, move all units on rebel base to planet.
Toydaria produces blue circles not blue squares You are limited to 1 refresh phase objective scored a turn. You only build units from systems loyal/ subjugated to you. Rebel units by themselves aren’t enough.
When the Rebel Base was revealed on Ryloth via Empire gaining loyalty there, the probe card is flipped and all units inside the Rebel Base Space should move immediately into the system.
I see i was not alone in saying that to the screen. Later on, rebels use hidden fleet when they should have been able due to no units at the rebel base.
@@mynamesaj The expansion reworks combat quite significantly. Specifically with the tactic cards. Basically it allows you to use certain thematic tactics from the movies if you have the appropriate units. The new tactic cards are also quite powerful, for example the Rebels can use "Tow Cables" during ground battles if they have an Airspeeder present, this will deal 4 damage to an AT-ST or AT-AT which pretty much guarantees the kill. It's so much better and rewards having a diverse army.
Feel like there was a lot of stuff Rick didn't tell them before starting this one, but I guess with a complex game like this you're never gonna be able to cover every rule or loophole without going through the game.
@@SniperSnakeCQC Ah, thanks for replying and clearing that up. That makes sense too, cause I feel like most people have a much easier time learning rules by playing than by reading or watching instructions, plus you can't always cover every possible scenario ahead of time.
According to the rule book, if an attempted mission is unopposed, it's automatic succes, no need to roll to see if it's a succes. Think I saw you guys do that a couple of times at the beginning of the game. Or was it stated on the card?
You don't have to add a leader from the leader pool to oppose the opponent's mission. If you already have leaders in the system, they automatically oppose.
They assumed 1. in soace combat the remaining fighters die before they can attempt to blow up the death star. And they presumed Imoerals then move to the empty rebel base. Also worth mentioning ehen they moved their rebel bade to bottom left following rules only the base go there secretly, the units stay at old location
It's a fun game, though I've played it only once, and the first game took us (two players) about six hours pure game time without setup. It's truly epic in nature, and I look forward to playing it again. There's an Expansion that includes elements from Rogue One, but I want to get a really good grip of the game to have a better go at tactics and to cut the game time before I try that.
Totally opposite to me. In my opinion the original fighting mechanics were a pain in the the ass. The DLC solution is what this game needed to be more smooth
I second Luca, the base combat is like Risk, random. Just hope enough units there. In the expansion you have all thr options in your hand, giving way more tactics.

This sounds about right!
Rick is absolutely glistening in that blue blind wave light during his opening explanation
So this is basically Star Wars Rebellion the PC game in board format. Cool.
I saw the title and was hopeful that this is what it was. But a board game is cool too. haha

9:33 was an absolute Spaceballs moment. Everything that's happening now, is happening now. When will *then* be now!?
I love this board game. I'm so glad you guys did it.
A tense game with a very good presentation. I'd like to see another one (maybe with swapped sides) soon!
Yess... a 2 hour game night !!

True, but most likely they destroy the remaining fighters. Following rules they should have played this combat and final rounds fully.

You guys should definitely try the expansion. It is much smoother in combat
You should really explore The Rise of the Empire Expansion's updated cinematic combat system - I find it to be much cleaner and smoother!
The expansions makes the combat soooo much better. It’s actually thematic, and there’s choices to be made. I can’t even play the original anymore.
Like the roughest one expansion? Is that it’s won game

Wolf6120 I gave them all a rules video to watch ahead of time. Plus I gave them a refresher off camera before we started.

Great to watch! I also recommend "Star Wars: Outer Rim" and "Xwing The Miniatures Game" both also by FFG.
Aaron: “I don’t think the people in California are the most against trump.” Ummm I think that’s exactly how it is 😂😂😂
no i would say new york is more against trump
bacon bits you’d think that but surprisingly he even has support there. Idk like anyone in Cali that does
If you Google “California Voting Results”, Trump surprisingly has the most votes, between him, Sanders, and Biden.
Oh baby, that runtime...
I loved the pc version. Played it again last year

Please play this again soon!
Still not 100% clear on whats happening but damn was it fun. Would love to see a rematch.

It really improves the combat system as well, must purchase imo.

a Clone Wars version of this needs to be made...then once order 66 happens...just set up this game.
You can only do one objective per phase

Archmaster7 I’ve done it myself once in a game too... so... 😛

so its like eve but on a board game
I’m 18 mins and have no idea what’s going on 😂 Very complex game, but always love their game nights.
Jeez just play Star Wars: Empire at War FoC, specifically modded
Mmm I hope you play terraforming mars at some point.
Hey guys have you reacted to the new westworld season 3 official trailer... The song choice is perfect
Are there jedi like Obi-Wan
Obi Luke and Vader included. Luke can visit Dagobah to become master. Yoda is present as a ring, companion only giving reroll.
Not letting them know they could only capture one Rebel at a time until after they attempted and accomplished it - bad form
How did this game only take you guys 2.5 hours? Lol.
Because they cut where they deployed units and assigned missions.
I was expected more from this game. So dissapoiting!
I live in California, I'm for Trump
