The time when Pillman was around I was really young and after listening to the podcast its made me really feel like I missed out on something really good as I had never known how Pillman's character had developed from WCW/ECW/WWE...truly he was a true genius to play the industry on the reality based and ground hitting character development which made wrestling exciting. - RIP Pillman. Hardly anyone knew about the dirtsheets or was familiar with the lingo behind the scenes like now but we knew something didn’t seem right with Pillman and with how his matches were going and what angles he was in.
Its funny how Conrad desperately goes out of his way to argue that Pillman didn't die from overdose, then they go on to say pillman had been drinking the night before ,they found a beer in his bed and he had been on Somas that when combined with beer is a DEADLY combination.
@@FranzFerdinand76 he died from drug abuse/ neglect, and or alcohol even if it wasnt exactly overdose. you can call it ignorance but... would this have happened if the Somas were legally prescribed to him? i think not. Still, maybe he wasnt a drugee, and if so Im sorry i misjudged him.

You get the widow to appear on television the night of? What the hell were they thinking is a good question to ask. Sometimes Bruce deserves a grilling.
In a perfect world Brian Pillman didn’t have the ankle injury and since he had signed a 3yr contract in 96 (taking him to at least 99) can you imagine how great WWF would have been if Pillman didn’t die (WWF was already great then but it would have been out of this world). In 93 who would have thought that the Hollywood Blondes would have the wrestling world in their hands 3yr later with everyone talking about their Stone Cold & Loose Cannon gimmicks 2 great personas created by themselves. If Brian had never had died the Attitude Era would have so good with Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Loose Cannon Brian Pillman & finally The Rock. Not to mention DX with an up and coming Triple H and so many more throughout the card, who knows maybe Owen Hart could have been tagged with Pillman in 99 when they didn’t know what to do Owen anymore, so no Blue Blazer and no Owen falling to his death. But that’s a perfect world and we don’t live in a perfect world
Maybe Loose Cannon Pillman shot 2Pac in Las Vegas Saturday September 7th 1996...Think about it...they said the Friday before was a special RAW FRIDAY Pillman was there for....right in the beginning of the Loose Cannon....he shot 2Pac to get the gimmick more over
Why does Conrad make such a big deal over the interview with Pillman's saying Vince waa covering his ass, covering his ass from what? Vince didn't do anything, all they did was gove Pillman's wife a platform to give her story without all the extra BS that other media reporters would have
This was a good topic that needed to be discussed. It felt like to me Vince was covering his ass with the interview with Melanie. I mean he flat out said it was drugs that caused Brian's death not realizing it was a condition that was in my family. His son Brian Jr just got into the wrestling business. He works for Major League Wrestling as 1/3 of the Next Generation Hart Foundation with David Hart Smith and Teddy Hart. Brian was a character that meant a lot to the wrestlers and his fans in the short time he was able to perform. He left us way too soon. I am on Conrad's side, Vince was saving his own ass cause he caused the media to say it was possibly drugs that caused his death.
AND his wife was a terrible drug addict and wasn’t capable of making sane decisions in a crisis like at that time going on air and knowing Vince. C’mon, you knew he was going to pry with his questioning
The same ego driven decision to create a fake razor / diesel after Hall and Nash left to assert their copyrights and break kayfabe on TV is also why the WWE is in shambles today. You don't have to be a genius to know heart slows, blood pressure drops, your breathing slows, you fall asleep, and a muscle relaxer relaxes every muscle including heart and lungs, that's a recipe for disaster. A heart attack is sometimes interchangeably listed as the cause of death during an overdose situation. It depends on the person doing the autopsy because during an overdose the person goes into respiratory failure which leads to extreme hypoxia leading to cardiac arrest. Had he not had the legal prescriptions this coroner very well may have given “Cardiac Arrest Secondary to Opioid Overdose” as the cause of death. Its a “potatoe vs potato” situation.
That being said considering the fact that they stated it was natural causes due to heart disease this would mean Pillman probably had a predisposition to heart disease given his father’s history factor in his use of all types of drugs combined with drinking over the years and his occupational history and it makes a lot of sense why a young man of 35 died from this disease. Previous use of HGH and steroids would do significant damage to a diseased heart and would not require him to be currently using in order to fatally suffer the cardiac arrest at that time.
I dont agree with Bruce telling people that criticized the way WWF handle things after after his death "fuck you". Vince McMahon, his boss 24 hours later asked his widow on live global TV "how will you make money to support your kids now that he's dead." That's really fucked up and cruel for his boss to do. The man who his wife said she was going to depend on for food.
@55:55 - well maybe it is ONE of the first things in the Attitude Era, but the actual FIRST thing was by a guy you love to hate lol The Ultimate Warrior's promos on Goldust and Lawler in 96.
I love how as the podcast goes on and gets closer to the Aftermath of Pilmans death, bruce seems to start giving short answers and is being standoffish because he knows were this is going
A self-hating mark. Adorable. Meltzer knows more than both of us, kiddo. He's closer to the industry than both of us, you have no reason to believe Meltzer nor Bruce - you do so because you want to. Because you're a mark for bruce. A self-hating mark.
Soma wasn't just big in wrestling. It was just big in the 90s and early 2000s. With the interview a 35 year old in good athlete is why when there are pill bottles around that's why officials told Vince a possible overdose. And go look at Nancy Grace after Warrior said that's why they want people to know the truth.
I'd like to know how long he got WCW paychecks. Cuz Pillman appeared on 2/3 more nitros N the crowd holding a sign for his 900 number after his ECW APPEARENCES. BRUCE ACTS LIKE HE WAS WORKIN WCW BUT I REMEMEBER AT THE TIME THEY WANTED HIM GO WWE FOR 1 YR OR LESS
Look at Mr.How dare you Vince for alluding to drugs. Saying all the stress put on his heart and you can guess what that was. And now we know why he hated Melanie doing the interview Meltzer gave it some bullshit award.
Well technically he didn't say he died of an overdose.. he said that there was POSSIBILITY that he died of an overdose....... we'll know in 7 days.. with the evidence, you would assume that, but he never said he DIED of an overdose
If this was the first Conrad interview I ever heard, I would have never ever listened to the rest. I've listened to almost all of them and this is one of the Prime examples of Conrad being not only wrong but pushing during a sensitive subject. Conrad wasn't there and doesn't even realize the bulshit he's pulling towards Bruce exact same sort of exploitation. It was traumatic for Bruce to talk about that death obviously, but look at Conrad doing equivalent of zooming the camera in. Conrad's just a kid and I wonder if he's ever been in a situation to make any sort of decision like that. Pisses me off the his cocky attitude about situations regarding death, when he wasn't there. This is garbage interviewing, particularly when he says the phrase it's worth bringing up. It's worth it to who? And why are you going to say it seven times in one interview
U guys notice Bruce said everybody n biz knew Nancy was having affair with Benoit. N reality they n Had Ben broke up and all of Pillmans stuff was coming straight from Kevin
He was absolutely brilliant. He worked 3 organizations at once. It is a shame we couldn’t see what else he had up his sleeve

What's wrong with the word cripple?
I dont agree with Bruce telling people that criticized the way WWF handle things after after his death "fuck you". Vince McMahon, his boss 24 hours later asked his widow on live global TV "how will you make money to support your kids now that he's dead." That's really fucked up and cruel for his boss to do. The man who his wife said she was going to depend on for food.
It’s like a weird wrestling. Custody. Curse when Happen with Eddie as well
@55:55 - well maybe it is ONE of the first things in the Attitude Era, but the actual FIRST thing was by a guy you love to hate lol
The Ultimate Warrior's promos on Goldust and Lawler in 96.
I love how as the podcast goes on and gets closer to the Aftermath of Pilmans death, bruce seems to start giving short answers and is being standoffish because he knows were this is going
Well no shit. Of course it's going to head toward Brian's death. That tends to be how stories goes when the story is about someone who passed away.
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu I was pointing out how Bruce's attitude changed more than how a story works, fuck head.
Wasn't meant to be was outta commission by 96 really..
Bruce participated in Brian's sexual escapades
Man why can’t they have a Stalker t-shirt lol
Bruce, these marks don’t understand anything, like Meltzer, well plans changed, smh, F DAVE MELTZER!!!!!
A self-hating mark. Adorable. Meltzer knows more than both of us, kiddo. He's closer to the industry than both of us, you have no reason to believe Meltzer nor Bruce - you do so because you want to. Because you're a mark for bruce. A self-hating mark.
He didn’t look like Shawn Michaels lol. He was more of cross between brad Pitt and Kurt Cobain
it was a rumor that he was going to get plastic surgery to look like shawn. didn't say he did get plastic surgery
Wonder how much Vince helped his widow out?
Shit nm I didn’t wait till end of podcast lol
he helped a lot. unfortunately the money didn't get to his kids
It’s not Cincinnati it Kentucky. Across the bridge is. Across state lines duhhhhh
David Arquette actually gave Pillman’s wife his payoff for the run he had when he captured the WCW world championship.
We know they talked about it
Mean gean I guess it came full circle for him
I Looooooove Yewwwwwwww
comin out a coma off of 17 soma
And Vince took care of them for a while so..
U guys notice Bruce said everybody n biz knew Nancy was having affair with Benoit. N reality they n
Had Ben broke up and all of Pillmans stuff was coming straight from Kevin
Perhaps you should try again? this time in English...
2:19:32 I miss this side of Conrad. Like the Finn Balor demon coming out.
Love the podcast hate the comments
That shitttt!!!!!!!!! Shitttt!!!!!
