Hey, just subscribed... I have a killer Dex/int build that can deal with almost any other build in duels without hard swapping. You will like it a lot, since you enjoy the versatility of two handing an off hand weapon... My live duel videos are my uptodate build, the Dex/int build showcase video is the same concept(Pre-DLC) and shows the trickery and some versatility of the build.
@@juicybossfights Moonveil, Hand of Malenia I would love to experiment with more weapons, but every time I try a different Dex I feel it’s so much weaker.
Moonveil for me. Dual wielding with a cold uchi with chilling mist. I have been destroying everything. This is my first playthrough, and this game is just something else. What an experience.
yes bro. moonveil and cold uchi was so OP. you feel literally unbeatable. whenever I did struggle on a boss, I had to bring them out. I actually felt like I was cheating when I brought them out 🤣 so I was reluctant to use it all the way through
@TastyFreezeyo hoarfrost stomp. no matter what i use though, I just make sure to apply the cold affinity.. it gives it the best scaling for a int/dex build. but i like to have some kind of ranged ash of war on the left hand when I 1 hand it.. and moonveil on the right hand for the op close range aow
@@juicybossfights nice one. I’m going to try that. Dumb question, but how do you apply apply affinity I’m just back for the DLC after over a year away from it This game is so confusing. I have 200 hrs and I’m still learning new things I just figured out emotes with the DualShock. It’s pretty random but a cool feature
@TastyFreezeyo when you apply the ash of war with Hewg at the roundtable, it will ask for the affinity you wish, whether Quality, Keen, Cold, Magic, Occult, etc. Some affinities won't be available for some ashes of war. It alters the scaling for your weapons. Like my cold uchigatana has Cold affinity, which now scales better with INT then DEX/STR.
no spells/incantations. its mostly the incantations that give you the good buffs and they're for faith builds. brass shield (medium shield with golden parry AoW bcz I parry a lot, guards 100% physical damage for me) Talismans: axe talisman, godfrey icon, shard of alexander, and green turtle talisman to recover stamina quicker. to make it even more powerful, use the 'magic shrouding cracked tear' in the mixed physic, it boosts the magic damage the sword does even more.

I put slight more in INT than DEX bcz I use a staff for magic now and then, and for level soft cap purposes. But if I felt i'm dying too quick, or my stamina keeps running out, i'd put more in those stats, but this was the sweet spot for me personally.
you can use the old save as you need to have beaten mohg, lord of blood to access the dlc area anyway (so i've read). I've avoided spoilers so don't actually know if you can take your old weapons in with you. though i know there's a new levelling system to balance the difficulty.
Hey, sorry how do you switch using special skills or ashes of war if you dual welding like you were switching between nebula and magma. I’m using Xbox controller.
keep hold of triangle and press L1. (Y and LB I think on xbox) then use ur ash of war. then press it again to go back to normal and it will naturally use your right hand weapon aow when your dual wielding
it does. it's for charged attacks. Holding R2 is charged. don't know about the beam, but if you're at close range, the physical hit with the sword is defo affected.
Definitely a good list of intelligence-based weapons, although I'm curious how you 'found' that Ghostflame Ignition scales better with intelligence than dex, because it doesn't. For unique weapons that deal cold magic damage, the skill gets half of its scaling from the weapon's base dex scaling (weapon upgrade level has no effect), which for Death's Poker is 0.5, half of which is 0.25, and it gets the other half of its scaling from the weapon's base intelligence scaling (again, weapon upgrade level has no effect), which for Death's Poker is 0.2, half of which is 0.1. So Ghostflame Ignition's damage scales 2.5 times better with dexterity than it does with intelligence. Although both scale fairly poorly overall, the base damage on Ghostflame Ignition is just that crazy. Also, even at +10, the actual weapon damage's intelligence scaling is garbage.
watched that video. interesting. however, many other videos and online guides specifically mention how the skill of deaths poker is stronger with raising intelligence. I did a very basic test of just pumping 55 points in dex and 20 in Int and checking the damage. and then switching it to 55 in int and 20 in dex. the ghost flame skill was defo stronger with more pumped in intelligence.
Fextra says the damage is 100% based on int for ghost flame. Not sure what buddy is talking about unless he knows better than the Bible source for this game.
So what's your go-to weapon? 👇
