@@Goonercry It is very reliable if you don't force it to do things that you need a modern AF system for like extremely fast moving sports or a hummingbird 80m away. It has always been reliable. If your application is more intense you will need to test it out for yourself, don't just take my words for it.
I dont do portrait, i got the Fujifilm X-T1 for wrestling photography/street photography. It does what i need it to but will eventually upgrade to an X-T2 or X-H1
That’s badass! Yeah I mostly use this for street since my Canon R6/RP are my work cameras. Currently eying a XPro 2 since I’ve always wanted to try the rangefinder style camera.
Same here. I stopped doing weddings and other events years ago though I do have my arm twisted, not too tightly, to do a destination wedding in the Caribbean once or twice a year! I was doing wedding with two Mamiya 645’s on film back in the 80’s. I had 6 film packs pre-loaded with Kodak Vericolor 220 and Ilford BW 400. After the reception in the middle of the night I’d get home and immediately get to work developing the film and HOPING one of my two little girls didn’t have to use the bathroom! Lol. Those were the days when we EARNED our money. I ran for a straight 20 hours between prep, wedding, formals, reception, developing and then some test prints. Those WERE not the good ole days.
couldn't agree with you more! Been a die hard Nikon shooter and also jumped to full frame a while back. Got the X-T1 this year and it's amazing what it can do. Just took my Fuji gear on a paid shoot and I've now really got to reconsider keeping my Nikon gear or not.
Does anybody here shooting both X-T1 and X-S10 ??? Please share opinion comparing these two models in terms of image-output (only). How do u think they compare?
I agree entirely. I just bought an X-T1 to use alongside my Canon. A big decision because if I buy more Fuji X lenses I will be committed. But I suspect I will.
I shoot a lot of product work with an XT1 and the various XF lenses and am currently looking at getting a second body. I just love the almost organic look that I can get out of this camera especially with the 16mm 1.4 and 56. I also love using the f2 range of lenses. Bang for buck the XF lenses are the deal of the century and match most of my Canon L lenses but for much less $$$'s. Yes I also shoot Canon and love the images they produce. I think I'm actually going to buy up the market on used XT1 bodies I like this camera so much!
Hey David. I'm thinking to get my first X-T fuji camera. Not sure if I want to get X-T1 or X-T2 or X-T3 or X-T4. From one point of view "F*** money, get the best!" and from other one I think I must invest more in lenses and less in body. So its a fall of 2022 and the X-T5 rumors are out - do you still shoot X-T1 or now it is more collecting the dust and what would you grab today?
I’d go with the XT3. It’s really inexpensive now plus the newest firmware update gave it the same autofocus performance as the XT4. Now if you need IBIS, slightly bigger battery and flip out screen for vlogging, get XT4.
January 2022 and I just bought (2) X-T1 bodies, the F2 primes (23, 35, 50) and a couple zooms. Next up...16mm 2.8. Sold my FF Nikon D750 kit and not looking backward. I'm out of the FF game, especially when considering FF mirrorless bodies and lenses as far as price. Nope.
@@dlovisuals After using them for a couple months, considering now buying 2 more X-T1 bodies so when these are beyond repair I have two standing by. I love them that much. No need for more and the lenses......wow. I love the files I'm getting from this camera!
I wanted the xt 200 but I don't vlog or anything so it's fine for me. It should be here tomorrow. The problem I'm finding is the lens prices are crazy high. But there are attachments so why not
I bought the X-T1 new, six years ago. And I doubt I'll ever sell it, despite the fact that I got much more advanced Fujifilm cameras in the meantime. As a matter in fact, I doubt that I ever sold anything from Fuji...
Great video! I just got a "minty" used X-E2 (same sensor as XT-1) - it's my first Fujifilm and I'm in love! Been mostly shooting with a cheap-ass Meike 25mm F1.8 manual focus lens and the whole setup looks and feels so "organic." I gotta say, there is something special about the photos captured by this sensor, it's hard to describe, but even when I miss perfect focus oftentimes I still like the image. This camera/lens combo really has gotten me away from pixel-peeping and more into creating artful images. I bet I'll get really nice 11x17 prints from this camera too.
There really is something special about this sensor. Colors always look so good

Great video. I switched from nikon d810 to xt2 and now own xt4 and xs10 and I definitely agree fuji is the King of apsc and rewrites the concept of lenses overall such as no more image quality difference between primes and zooms one of their most legendary one is the so called kit lens 18-55. I would not not be surprised to see you switching completely to the system with their higher hand products.
Good call. I'm thinking of picking one up just for the weather sealing. Got the xt10 which I'm still delighted with, but no weather sealing. Great lenses!
I wouldn't let weather-sealing tempt me unless I always shoot in bad weather. And even if there is bad weather, I wouldn't need weather-sealing simply because I, myself, never step into bad weather. Therefore, my camera doesn't have to, either. People have shot with non-weather-sealed cameras for more than half a century before that concept even exists. If I really need to protect the gear I would buy one of those protective nylon and it's done. Saved a ton of money.
The Fuji XT are already the big ones. Check out the X-E2 or 4 with the new XF 27mm f/2,8 R WR. Some people here on youtube argue that the X-Trans I Sensor of the XT-1 is even better than later versions since it has less pixels and looks very organic, like analog film. I bought a used XT-1 yesterday in addition to my X-E3. So far i'm very impressed with Fuji.
Excellent price/value choice for side street setup man, have fun. I have just sold my X-T1 to upgrade. It was my street camera with 35mmf2 for 2 years, next to my Canon full frame set. Finally, I have sold all my Canon stuff and changed totally ti Fuji :)
30 x 24 with the XT1 and the 16 1.4 and I’m a pixel peeper. To me grain and noise or softness of any kind are my four-letter words. And it’s AMAZING! Believe it or not I haven’t printed any larger than 24” wide yet from my GFX....
The X-T1 nowadays is a real bargain of a camera. Sure it lacks some of the AF capabilities of the later models and only has one card slot, but it is smaller than the X-T2,3 or 4, which I prefer. IQ is good enough for all reasonable sized prints and the lower MP count is better for smaller file sizes. No, one does not need FF any more. The only reason I use a FF camera (a Nikon Df) now and again is because I have some particularly nice MF lenses which require FF to enjoy them to their best advantage. So if one does already have the FF glass in that case a FF system makes sense, but if one is starting from scratch I see no point in it, unless shooting hand held in very poor light or in very contrasty lighting and one requires a lot of shadow and highlight detail. Both of these situations seem very specialized to me.
@@dlovisuals I am curious as well. I dig the feeling of the XH1. I am hoping to find a dedicated studio kit. Then the rest for documentary photography.
I bought 1 for $75, I only have vintage manual lens for it. Man I love it even though it won't record when I hit record button but 🤷🏿♂️. I have my a6300 for video so yeah.

I went with a Fuji camera for the same reasons that you mentioned in this video. I'm a hobbyist. That means I need affordable stuff. But, I also wanted something that was quality and shot nice images. After researching then shopping for almost an entire year I found a great deal on a practically new X-T3. It came with the 18-55mm, the grip, extra batteries(2Fuji, 2 third party) an extra charger and all of the original boxes and packaging. I tried to beat the deal with several different cameras including other Fuji bodies. But, since this came with a lens it was pretty tough to beat. It's been a fun camera. I haven't gotten a Fuji prime yet. However, I did get an adapter for my old Canon FD 50mm f1.8 and have had fun using that. All-in-all the Fuji system is a great choice for me. It's a year since you posted this video. I'm curious how you've liked your X-T1. That sensor is supposed to have some wonderful qualities. Take care and thanks for a fun video.
I have 2 X-T1's as they are so cheap to buy compared to the alternatives. It produces amazing images and I can use an adaptor for my Nikon (and third party) lenses which are cheaper. I am currently searching for a wr 35mm prime lens for street photography.
I too have two X-T1's bought really cheap last year. I use them mostly with Canon FD lenses and I couldn't be happier. I have a plastic fantastic 16-50 ois ii zoom when i need autofocus or a few extra stops for handheld shots. I can take shots that look just like the ones from 20-30 years ago with my T90.
Hello sir, want to ask some question, which is more worth it between xt1 or xt10 ? Im gonna use it daily for street hunt and professional use as a wedding photographer,, thanks a lot
Hi. I'm getting my first Fuji camera very soon. Been watching review videos of the X-T1 for weeks now. And so far I don't remember people complaining much about the camera, especially in 2021 since the price has dropped so much. Definitely a bargain deal. But hey I could get an X-T100 which is a much newer body with a similar budget. So I'm kinda in a dilemma. Am curious and would love to know which body would you go with if both are priced the same?😬
Well the XT-1 used to be Fuji’s flagship mirrorless camera which has their legendary 16MP X-Trans sensor. The camera is also weather sealed and has a much better grip over the XT-100. Personally if I had to choose one over the other I’d go XT-1 because of the better ergonomics and weather sealing (since I love to shoot in the rain).
I have many fuji cameras. I bought them all used and cheap. Just sold the x-pro 1 cos I like the x-t1 more. I like the view finder. I probably will sell some of the cameras if I realise I never use them. I just bought x-m1 with 50-230mm for 120 dollars. How can I be so stupid not to buy it. ? The x-s10 might be a smart move though.
I mostly shoot raw so the film simulations isn’t a big deal breaker for me. That said, it’s cool to see how much effort Fuji into these simulations for those who use them
Nice, I like some of the Fujifilm stuff and APS-C cameras are more than enough for most photographing. Personally I bought the Canon EOS M100 last year and while the camera with kit lens (sold kit lens) didn't cost much refurbished from Canon, those EF-M lens are pretty expensive. Of course I also knew about the ef/ef-s to EF-M adapter exists, so I just bought the EF-M 22mm Prime pancake, the EF 40mm and waiting on the ef-s 18-135mm to come in. That's all I need. But I have no plans on going full frame, too heavy, too expensive and APS-C works great for me.
Hey man thanks for the cool video. I was wondering, would this camera take better pictures than my iPhone XS? I’m sorry if it’s a dumb question, but I’m currently on a budget and I really want either the X T1 or the X T2, yet the 2 is quite a bit more expensive. I just want a well built camera for street photography that can’t take better photos compared to my phone. Do you think it’ll be good for me?
@@dlovisuals thanks for the reply. I also saw your street photography video and it looked great! Do you have any recommendations for where to get it from? I can’t find the silver version anywhere for less than $450. Perhaps I should look into eBay even though it’s riskier than from a store.
I still use an XT1 professionally for product photography which also includes dynamic shots of moving people. The images the XT1 is capable of capturing when you know what you are doing and how to get the best out of the camera are absolutely stunning. I also use the 35mm f2 as seen here quite a bit. So no, your phone's images won't be anywhere near the quality of the XT1 and I seriously doubt that phones no matter how advanced they become will ever come close to the abilities of any of the top camera brands.
I traded a well used canon 6D, 50mm, and 85 mm for an Xt-1, and the 18-55 kit lens. I have literally shot Canon my entire life. I don't regret it at all.
I've been looking to get an X-Pro1 to have a Fuji camera with the original X-Trans sensor. I use X-T3 and X100V mostly, but wanted to dig back into the original sensor as there is someone about it's character and I regret selling my X-T1 when I got the X-T3.
I have the X-Pro1 and the X-T1. The X-Pro1 is basically a manual focus body, the AF is very unreliable. I still love it though, but it will miss focus in perfect conditions so I wouldn’t use it in situations where you’ll only get one chance of a shot. It really is a beautiful camera body though, and that’s why I keep it even though I have a Canon body with ‘L’ glass
I had mine since it got out, now it feels becoming sluggish, slow to response, ie, after the shutter, the preview used to be/feels very snappy. Apart from the buttons are not responsive anymore and shooting mode jumps to other mode by itself (understandable), it's becoming slow, not sure if anyone else experiencing this
Hi David! I'd like to know what your opinion is. I am looking at the XT1 and the XT10 in the used market now. Say we do not consider the prices, which one do you believe is a better buy? Thanks!
I still love the images from my two XT1 bodies they were my 3rd XT bodies after the Xpro 1 and a XT10 body there is just something about the images you get from them always been a big fan of Fujifilm products be it film cameras Dslrs and mirrorless last count 7x film bodies 7x Dslr bodies 17x mirrorless and most of the current XF lens line apart from 16-80mm 70-300mm and still hankering after XT200mm f2.0 By the way full frame cameras don’t gather more light than 4/3 DX Aps or medium format they all gather the same amount of light with say a f2.0 aperture and equivalent focal length lens hence light meters don’t have a different setting for different sensor sizes😊This NOT a criticism just a fact. I really enjoy watching you vids keep them coming please. BTW XT1 is also iso invariant 😊👍🏼
I watched 30+ reviews videos on the Fujifilm cameras and most of them praised Fuji colors and almost none of them focus on low light results, what a shame.
IMHO the XT1 has cleaner high iso output than my XT2, and XH1. 7 years in and I still grab my XT1 and my original 1st gen 27mm pancake lens whenever I’m headed out the door for any reason.
I'm shooting low-light photos with an f2 on an X-T1 just fine. So even if that "Light Gathering Difference" exists, it doesn't affect me the slightest.
@@thegrayyernaut That's the point, your exact exposure from your X-T1/f2 setting to a FF sensor will be No different. I have a light meter I use for old film cameras (LF, MF, 35mm) and some digital cameras (APS-C, FF, MF) for landscapes and nowhere is a setting for film/sensor size. The exposure "light gathering" reading applies to all. People confuse Field of View, from Cropping to somehow it reading light different.

Otherwise, I don't think I need any newer Fujifilm camera, using an X-T1.
Is the autofocus still reliable nowadays?
@@Goonercry It is very reliable if you don't force it to do things that you need a modern AF system for like extremely fast moving sports or a hummingbird 80m away. It has always been reliable.
I have a 16-55 and 90f2 on it and they both perform like a dream.
But I mainly shoot street.
The f/2 prime lenses are a solid entry into the XF system that won’t break the bank
How about XT-1?
Just got mine this week and I love it so much
Yesss! Welcome to the Fuji squad!
Yeah. That 16 1.4 is THE BEST LENS IN THE FUJI LINEUP Bar none.
Nope.
Hell yeah! Welcome to the club!
But there are attachments so why not
Try looking into buying used lenses, it helps you save so much money long term
I bought the X-T1 new, six years ago. And I doubt I'll ever sell it, despite the fact that I got much more advanced Fujifilm cameras in the meantime. As a matter in fact, I doubt that I ever sold anything from Fuji...
I recently got rid of my Nikon d750 and purchased a X-Pro 2. Then I'm seeing XT1's for too good of prices and I'm tempted to get one of those as well.
Badass! Yeah I really like the XT-1 and I also want an X-Pro3. I probably won’t switch over fully to Fuji but def use alongside my Canon R6/RP.
Print 17” x 22” pictures on Epson Premium Luster on Epson 3880. Gorgeous!! Could probably go larger if printer allowed.
Might just look into that printer!
30 x 24 with the XT1 and the 16 1.4 and I’m a pixel peeper. To me grain and noise or softness of any kind are my four-letter words. And it’s AMAZING! Believe it or not I haven’t printed any larger than 24” wide yet from my GFX....
Now with Topaz for photos, it might be the perfect compliment for your 16 megs.
I am getting into Fuji cameras. But I want to get one camera from each series sensor. Fuji XT1, Fuji XPRO2 and hopefully the Fuji XH2 eventually.
Hell yeah! You can def find a lot of the older Fuji cameras for cheap now. I’m curious on what the XH2 is gonna bring to the table
Which vintage lenses do you use on your Fuji camera(s)?
@@da009999 I use the Canon fd 135mm F2.8 prime lens this 1 built like a tank pic quality is really soft but it is not forgiving. Mean the slight shake and the whole pic is burry, but the good this is that this lens really heavy. Canon fd 28mm f2.8 prime lens, have really good color it's soft and but it's definitely sharp, it my favorite. Canon fd 28-80mm f3.56-5.6 zoom lens, you can get good quality pics out of it, but I use it for video on my a6300 bc I get them film look, with the right light it's sharp around f8. The helios 44m-4 58mm f2, well this thing hold its own and it's good in low light situations. Swirly bokeh if you're into it. Then I have the meike 35mm f1.7, this lens right here is all manual and Extremely sharp. I slap a 2 stop nd filter and soft fx 1, for the really vintage look and my image are still tack sharp. I have sigma 28mm f2.8 I dnt use it bc the blades got stuck in it and I didn't want risk the chance completely messing it up. But when it was working, that lens NEVER left my camera. I mean it's sigma, need I say more? On top of that it was a vintage lens from the 80's so it was built like 80's chevy truck. Hell all of the vintage lens are. I dnt own anyway fuji automatic lens nor 3rd party auto lens. Just these manual lens.
im just starting to get into photography and this is the camera that I'm thinking about buying - great price for used
Dive in and buy it, I have an Sony with all the lenses you could need, but the xt1 with the 30 mm is with me all the time, I love it

I shoot with a GH1 and FD lenses. Now i want to Switch to the X-T1. What would you say, wich Fuji Lens i should buy at First? My FD lenses are great, but i want one with AF, maybe a Kit Zoom or a 35mm f2 ... Wich Fuji Lens ist cheap, good an weather sealed?
The 35mm WR is so good!
@@dlovisuals Thank you for your feedback
I too have two X-T1's bought really cheap last year. I use them mostly with Canon FD lenses and I couldn't be happier. I have a plastic fantastic 16-50 ois ii zoom when i need autofocus or a few extra stops for handheld shots.
I can take shots that look just like the ones from 20-30 years ago with my T90.
Tiny, but as you have seen by now the images the XT1 produces are outstanding.
Just came across your channel. Great stuff. I wonder what are your impressions a few months later and why not XT2?
Well I sold this for the X-Pro 2 and have zero regrets. I’ve never owned a range finder style camera before so it’s a lot of fun to use for street
@@dlovisuals Ahh I see. Thanks for the reply!
I love my xt1 and xc lens
I have many fuji cameras. I bought them all used and cheap. Just sold the x-pro 1 cos I like the x-t1 more. I like the view finder. I probably will sell some of the cameras if I realise I never use them. I just bought x-m1 with 50-230mm for 120 dollars. How can I be so stupid not to buy it. ? The x-s10 might be a smart move though.
that's cheaper than the ens alone.
i bought my xt-1 a few days ago. When my girlfriend saw her she said "when you turn on her there are pictures of the first world war!" 😀
Ha! Good one!!
Beautifully made camera but it just hurts not being able to enjoy film recipes that successor x-t2 has(for not that much extra $).
I mostly shoot raw so the film simulations isn’t a big deal breaker for me. That said, it’s cool to see how much effort Fuji into these simulations for those who use them
I have a canon RP and a fuji X-T1, I really like both of them!!
EOS RP is such a great full frame camera. I have one I use as my backup body to my R6.
It will because the sensor is much larger than that of the iPhone XS. iPhone cameras are great point n shoots
@@dlovisuals thanks for the reply. I also saw your street photography video and it looked great! Do you have any recommendations for where to get it from? I can’t find the silver version anywhere for less than $450. Perhaps I should look into eBay even though it’s riskier than from a store.
@@togp3403 eBay would be a good option, just make sure it’s from a legit seller. I got my XT-1 through my local camera store.
Depends on the luminic situation, speed of the moving object, background blurr in not portraits etc.
I have an XM-1, and have an idea it's got the chops of the XT-1 without the retro controls. I'll assume the T has I.S.
As Zack Arias often says, the difference between full-frame and APS-C is insignificant.
Very nice video keep going!!!
I have a fuji xpro 2 and my full frame Canon cameras but I love fuji it makes me wanna shoot everything everywhere.
Just bought a X-T1 today. And now I’m kind of afraid that I’m not gonna use my Pentax DSLR that much anymore. Lol!
Woot! Welcome to club Fuji!
XT-1 is great with manual focus lenses... and the filmic JPGs!
Does it still have the waxy skin tone shooting Jpegs?
I switched sold all my canon gear... and my first move was buying an used xt2 with a new 35mm f2...
I still have my R6 and RP. I’m not going all in on Fuji cuz I still love using my canon gear for work
Same here... Best decision ever
I traded a well used canon 6D, 50mm, and 85 mm for an Xt-1, and the 18-55 kit lens. I have literally shot Canon my entire life. I don't regret it at all.
@@allenbutcher7153 hell yeah!
X-Pro1 have x-trans1. X-T1 have x-trans2.
You can get a EF to X adapter... win win
Thanks!
Have an xt-4 but prefer my old x-t20 for going unnoticed.
Your monologue is refreshing
Thank you so much!
I still love the images from my two XT1 bodies they were my 3rd XT bodies after the Xpro 1 and a XT10 body there is just something about the images you get from them always been a big fan of Fujifilm products be it film cameras Dslrs and mirrorless last count 7x film bodies 7x Dslr bodies 17x mirrorless and most of the current XF lens line apart from 16-80mm 70-300mm and still hankering after XT200mm f2.0
By the way full frame cameras don’t gather more light than 4/3 DX Aps or medium format they all gather the same amount of light with say a f2.0 aperture and equivalent focal length lens hence light meters don’t have a different setting for different sensor sizes😊This NOT a criticism just a fact. I really enjoy watching you vids keep them coming please.
BTW XT1 is also iso invariant 😊👍🏼
just bought my first camera (x-t1) partly bc of this video
bought it for $285
Whats like the best setting for low light in xt-1?
Everyone Here says 200 - 250 Bugs... In Germany you get the x t1 for 300-350€. So it ist much more expensive Here :(
I agree with you soon I will be a Fuji owner 👍🏼
Welcome to the club!
when you take a shot, it doesn't show the picture on the screen afterwords!!!
I turned that feature off because there’s a few second delay between it show the image to review then going back to shooting

Great review! Thank you
Well done🙌🙌🙌🙌💪💪💪💪👏👏👏

Very tempted to move from canon to Fuji. But I’m utterly terrible so it may be wasted on me! 😂

@@dlovisuals haha 🤣 simply like that right 🤦🏽♂️😆
Almost every Fujifilm is timeless, Canon & Nikon is junk after few years
Sensor Size has NOTHING to do with "Light Gathering" differences.
Please stop this popular false narrative.
