- This video shows various clips of snow undergoing voltages as high as 150kV or 150,000 volts. The power is provided from an X-Ray Transformer. This is driven by my 20kW variac with the output being in series with an external current limiter. Thanks for watching and DON'T DO THIS!!
1:15 what's that 50hz sound
Awesome sounds
I like the way you edit in the 50 Hz sound for the arcs! Best of both worlds. I simply must get my xrt running again. Although mine probably won't handle the same power as yours haha merry Christmas Mr. Variac!
Merry Christmas to you too sir! You should! Just be careful with the transformer. Thank you
The snow legitimately doesn't melt under the steel meltingly high heat of the arcs or plasma; that's surprising. 😳
I agree, I think it's due to heat absorption.
@@VariacManiac Yeah but what surprises me about that is the fact that both snow and ice melt when either attempts to absorb heat
That looks very beautiful. And deangures.
Very cool!
Ljke your content i subscribe
It's a load of fun! Thanks!
thats awesome!! its that question that you didnt know you have but once someone asks it you know you had the same question!!
Haha looks awesome! I like the partial discharges.
The plasma was the best part in my opinion, glad you enjoyed it man:)
Really nice setup, love the arks.
Thank you! Hope you enjoyed it mate, more vids are on their way, including some insulator hunts as well
lol I was just going to make a video like this! Just with alot lower voltage.
Cool, I just got bored enough to build a snowman and hit it with 150kV lol I need new hobbies
@@VariacManiac No you don't, that's the perfect hobby! lol
@@NSaw1 In a way
this is high voltage snowman 😅⚡️
What boredom does and does mysterious things
the bolt for the nose was a nice touch
@@SuperBrainAK I had no carrots around so yeah
