The japanes dude really perfected his punchesand tossed a small variation into each combination, the Belarusian fighter got really lucky with that kick there, it was quite sloppy though and with more practice it could be very effective
It's a judgment call; the kick inherently takes your upper body to the ground; he was being taken there by the opponent, but thinking quickly to turn that into an attack is impressive to me. If you slow it down, his foot was planted when he executed, he was taken off that foot immediately after, not before the technique. True, he was on the way down, but that's the time this technique can work. I think the points were well-earned.
It wasnt near enough power to count as an ippon, in kumite, points are valued over how much damage each successful connection can do, and that foot was just barely touching that head, not near enought force from the hips to knock someone unconscious.
can someone tell me why didn't that hook at 6:55 count as a point for the Belarus? I mean, it's clearly a hit in the head no matter which angel, besides, I'm sure that he did kiai, after re watching that part a few time.
It'not enough touch the body. The athlete has to knock the adversary in correct position, that in real situation and with enough power would be a knock out.
As a Goju Blackbelt I can confidently say that this is not Karate. It is tournament style Karate, if you will. But not traditional so I hope nobody gets the wrong idea about how it looks like dancing in a ring for 4 minutes.
karate has many types. this is how kumite is for their type. And you know why this competition, bcz they will see whose strike, whose kicks, moves clearer than a real fight that focus on a ko/tko win. I'm black belt, Thaido. This is not my style too, but i know it exists.
3:00 Thats a f*cking hit????? wtf it missed..... 3:13 Thats a kick worth 3 points??? wtf??? all it did was hook the head.. 5:13 Thats a hit too???? The guy with blue gloves blocked it kind of..... Well I'm not a pro at karate i just wanted to say what i thought was off
i thougt is was karate, against Karate but it seems that is Karate against ballet, that ushiro geri in the 03:13 made by the belarussian is not useful in the street, its, so unseful that he even drops to the tatami, it is realy a bad joke. bnut the referees are worse because the pointed it, the japaneese toke the bielrussian to the floor an that is not a point, le me tell you something, who falls in the floor in a street figth has already los the half of the figth.
idk why but i found it really funny when that guy held up the no sign.
me too
omfg lol I thought I was the only one XD
I think a red and green sign without the words would suffice...
HAHA I KNOW RIGHT! and his facial expression too!

How is that a point when he was falling over and off balance during the execution?

He connected with the head, 3 points.
Archie Ra it could’ve resulted in injury
Yeah it shouldn’t be a point that is a fucking bullshit if you’re in a real fight would you win if you fall down? That’s stupid af
6:55 that was ipon

then why were points awarded at 3:11?
Didn't touch the head I don't think
Philip HOHOHO no proper pullback!
i don't think it hit the head cause the red guy ducked down very suddenly making it look like he was hit... may be thats the reason

Woow..
Japan the best
АО мог бы победить если бы ему защитали ипон
Looks like a jump rope competition. Those mats will rip your knees out. Use a wood floor.
+David Petrie Yes! The mats are terrible for the knees and feet.....
The white guy is 1) a scorpion and 2) always dropped his guard and kept getting whacked in the face.

If Japan didn’t win I would be disappointed.

In my opinion taekwondo is better I been doing it 11 years now
a style is not better than another style, only a fighter can be better than another fighter
+Jan Horn thats true but i think that this karate form better fighters more complete that taekwondo. but.. the fighter have the ability
Taekwondo originated from Karate. It's a less useful - considering the Karate they had then - version of Karate.
Gallagher Hunter WTF DUDE, TAEKWONDO IS KOREAN AND KARATE IS JAPANASE GO STUDY
Juan Ignacio Dusse he's not saying their the same but one was based from another style like how karate was inspired by kung fu
This is just embarrassing. They show off how karate is so cool but in action it looks like kids slapping each other. Stick with real MMA fights kids.
first
This just doesn't make any sense, go do muay thai
boring
How your life.
more than sports garbage this is not karate here or in Japan
I prefer TaekwonDo
