Tom Baker is my doctor and forever shall be. But my favourite character in all of who is the brigadier, the only character (played by the same actor) that has been here consistently through the 60's 70's 80's 90's (yes there WAS dr who through the 90's) AND the 2000's both on big finish and Sarah Jane rest in peace sir, until we meet again!!!
i was looking at this the other day and Frazer Hines has appeared in more eps than the brigadier. the 5th and 6th people to be in the most eps of classic who.
@@alexlazebat839 episodes yes, stories no, the 2nd doctor had 2 monster stories, one 8 parts, one 10,by the time we got to third they averaged 4-6, with a 7 thrown in
I was there with a friend, but sadly couldn't spot myself in the video. Watching this has blown my mind, as I can't get my head around the fact it was literally half my lifetime ago - I was 22 and a half at the time, and I have just turned 45. It still feels like a "recent" event in my mind. Yet so many people who were there have now sadly passed on. I feel quite melancholy tbh.
So Nice to hear from you, time moves so fast, this is why I like to use a video camera to record events as it is so enjoyable to look back and remember such happy days, hope you managed to take some photos of the day
I was there, aged 30. Now I'm 53. I was there with the people who were in the Cyberman and the guy who played Hieronymous. I remember hearing that there had been some theft of the entrance fee money, that sounded slightly dodgey to me ! I was a bit cheeky and sneaked into that ante-room where the stars retreated to after the cake was cut. I remember talking to JNT (who'd I'd always wanted to speak to ) and Tom, who'd I'd spoken to before in New Zealand. JNT looked very tired and ill I remember thinking. But I'm glad I spoke to him, as of course he's no longer with us.
Gosh, I was there that day, and this really brings back memories. I particularly remember the guy in the Masque of Mandragora costume. And Gary Downie taking charge of the queue to the Orangery.
That is great to hear you were there, they were great days, I am so happy this video has brought back good memories for you and Gary had a huge job trying to please everyone, they all done a great job in organising these great events, I am so glad I brought the video camera with me, I hope you got some nice photos of the day for yourself.
What a lovely day out for families and fans. I remember going to the Doctor Who exhibition at Longleat when we were kids. Would have been more than 20 years ago though
Would have loved to have been there, knowing about it now. I know I was away on holiday at the time, aged 13, but I've been a fan since the mid 90s (35 now)
That tune that incredible piece of music you know I imagine a song to go with and many different versions to a song of time and Doctor Who but going back to its origins and how came to be is the bit of whovian history but I have always imagine that piece of music might of been so different I think that there was a few different versions of music before the one that became famous and slightly different for every generation but I guess those are missing or ended up on the cutting room floor lost in the dust of time?

They are great people to meet, and yes they were brilliant events, so lucky I was able to attend

Yes they were great days out, time moves so fast, it is so good to have these memories on video, pity the exhibition is gone now

Hello Matthew, glad you liked the video, shame you were not here on the day, but as you look at the video you can see how amazing the days were
August of 2000. Thinking back, noting the proceedings here in this video, _these_ were really the salad days some speak of.
But they were a good salad and very happy days
@@thepastremembered7651 Hear, hear.
JNT really did care a lot about the show and the fans
Yes he did and make all these Doctor Who days so enjoyable, so sad he passes away so early in life, he is missed.
The same fans he labelled "barkers"?
Sweating so profusely by 9:45, he already had to have had health problems. 😢
