Black mouthed dogfish are a deep water species- off the UK they are usually in 500m of water, but further north are in shallower water. Same as lantern shark and chimaera which you also get in Norway.

Ciao Wayne, yes, Phil Dale's pier, I was there in 2021, but Phil was gone. I fished from that mark and that day there were only mackerel. Anyway, nice video, thanks for the memories, bye Wayne from grandfather Paolo from Italy

Nice one Wayne. A ghost shark would have been a nice catch, not big but an unusual fish.

I fished there on that breakwater and the other side of that bridge in June and the fishing was very poor it's definitely a winter venue

I thought you were away from dogfish in Norway! nice. now do a ray also!😁
Its fairly rare to catch sharks from shore to my knowledge as i have been fishing for +50 years and never seen neither shark or ray from shore.
(grew up inland norway, but we did go to the coast a couple of times annually, but further south)
    Nice catch(and video) man👍
