She may be dead, or maybe alive only to find herself dying in the series. They just do the stuff to bring old fans back, and then most of the time ruining their expectations This is what happened to sequels, Kenobi series, Ashoka series and IDK didn't watch Mandalorian and BOBF. The first 3 I mentioned had characters that people were desperate to know about, hoping for some big adventures, or deep storytelling. Well, maybe it's just fans expectations, but these series screwed up with really cool characters, making some of them look terrible (Luke Skywalker for example) Same thing happened in Doctor Who though, by bringing back classic DW actors in the last episode of 13 series and then David Tennant for 3 episodes they tried to reach out for those who quit watching series when they had become awful. So I wouldn't expect much of Ventress return. Cool if she's alive, but the best thing that could happen to her is to be killed by some iconic character hands, and I'd rather it to be Boba Fett then Grand inquisitor or Reva.

I would love to see "Dark Disciple" return to screen and in general more of this Ventress. At least "Dark Disciple" was turned into a book of the same name. Maybe this means we could see more of her and Quinlan Vos (also from "Dark Disciple") in the future? I would love to see that.
I thought that Count Dokku killed her in Star Wars Clone Wars comic book. It said it should on Season 7 until they cancelled that episode and along with other episodes that we never saw before.

Not the first time false "testimony" or false info was in a Star Wars book. in a book about Rogue One, Andor's homeworld was "officially documented"as Fest, when in the Andor show it was actually revealed to be Kenari. Maybe Ventress's death was faked because she was greatly injured and nursed back to health at the Jedi Temple up until the events of Revenge of the Sith occured. The Jedi ofc may have wanted to keep this secret to protect her from the Republic's trials or Dooku himself. So it was "documented" that she died and that Kenobi and Vos buried her. Maybe Ventress and Vos will reveal it in the Bad Batch. Just my take, i am not a fan of dead characters returning to life lately, but i'd honestly prefer it be one of these options instead of another "resurrection via magic" scenario lol.

Ventress surviving death seems par for the course. Way back during her first appearance before Disney Canon became a thing in 03 Clone Wars she fell off a cliff. Then I guess there was some print work that had her survive and get humiliated by Obi Wan.
Also, are you 100% sure that it IS ventress, and not another dathomiri witch that managed to survive the slaughter? Not saying this is the case, just asking if it ever definitively says it is her on screen.
There is explenation for it Writers of the show just didn't read the book... They just saw her on the cover of it and probably Heard that she is good now so they used that as a plot of the final season od bad batch If she realy returned from dead then her sacrafice is pointless, just like with Vaders sacrafice... I had the exact same theory last night! Except it was a theory for her live action debut in Ahsoka season 2. My theory was that once set up on Dathomir, Thrawn and the Great Mothers revive the nightsisters in the coffins (we can assume that's what's in them) but then he'd ask for someone to lead them. And I thought who better than Ventress? She was buried on that planet after all. This news about her being alive is great! It always pissed me off that she died in a novel.
Major on-screen characters should NEVER be killed offscreen. I did not simply hate but LOATHED what they did to Ventris and I'm seriously hoping she gets the maul/Sidious treatment. She's the only one in the setting with an arc that truly deserves it.

I'm glad she's back. I would honestly love a series focusing on her. Maybe they're setting that up as a sort of continuation after Bad Batch but who knows. Either way, as long as the explanation is something better than "Somehow" I'm happy with it. I love her character development.

Actually, I don't think she didn't die. Quinlan buried her on Dathomir, before death of Talzin, and her lightsaber hilt and perhaps kyber crystal were used by Maul to rebuild his doublebladed one. So, if she was revived by Talzin, who is a very powerful Night Sister, it was after her death, or she would use her Dark Desciple weapon. Her lightsaber in trailer looks similar to her Clone Wars pair, but it isn't, it doesn't have bars and clips they had, so she was weaponless when she arised once more, and had to create a new one.

There is one way that she could have returned. The waters she was placed in at the end of Dark Deciple which was done with the hope of reviving her. That it probably what he meant.
This is the lead up to Ahsoka Season 2 as they’re apparently going to Dathomir? So maybe they’re showing an example of what can happen with dead characters being resurrected like they did with Maul.

But so far the unaired episodes are still canon. We still see CAD Bane still have a metal plate on his head when he got shot and certain acknowledgments of certain episodes still happen dispute those episodes weren't finished. Like in Rebels when the seeds of Mandalore was mentioned even though that episode was never aired. So yeah the books were made but the ligtsabers were probably turn blue because it looks cooler.
Imagine if Disney is just lying, however we get to see a very fresh-suited Darth Vader appear and turns out that he is how Ventress canonically dies. Vader's first victim since getting used to the suit, b/c Bad Batch is only like, what, a year by now since RotS?
I figure Brad Rau is bending the truth to placate fans, it wouldn't be the first time he or the crew has done so. Also consider the fact that Tales of the Jedi retconned elements of the Ahsoka novel, or how season 1 of the Bad Batch retconned the Last Padawan comics. It's clear that the people at Lucasfilm think it's acceptable for the shows to overwrite the books. But frankly if they are retconning Dark Disciple it doesn't bother me one bit considering how atrociously bad that book is.

There is one way that she could have returned. The waters she was placed in at the end of Dark Deciple which was done with the hope of reviving her. That it probably what he meant.

This is the lead up to Ahsoka Season 2 as they’re apparently going to Dathomir? So maybe they’re showing an example of what can happen with dead characters being resurrected like they did with Maul.

@@Jesse12489 Depa Billaba, Kanan Jarrus' master, died differently in the comic books and they changed it in the show of the Bad Batch and Ahsoka had green lightsabers instead of blue in the novel when fighting Darth Maul.
@@jonathanpabon4477 I dunno about the Maul story but that one could be easily explained like Drak Disables. It was created after the show was canceled. But so far the unaired episodes are still canon. We still see CAD Bane still have a metal plate on his head when he got shot and certain acknowledgments of certain episodes still happen dispute those episodes weren't finished. Like in Rebels when the seeds of Mandalore was mentioned even though that episode was never aired. So yeah the books were made but the ligtsabers were probably turn blue because it looks cooler.
Imagine if Disney is just lying, however we get to see a very fresh-suited Darth Vader appear and turns out that he is how Ventress canonically dies. Vader's first victim since getting used to the suit, b/c Bad Batch is only like, what, a year by now since RotS?
I figure Brad Rau is bending the truth to placate fans, it wouldn't be the first time he or the crew has done so. Also consider the fact that Tales of the Jedi retconned elements of the Ahsoka novel, or how season 1 of the Bad Batch retconned the Last Padawan comics. It's clear that the people at Lucasfilm think it's acceptable for the shows to overwrite the books. But frankly if they are retconning Dark Disciple it doesn't bother me one bit considering how atrociously bad that book is.
They might meet vos and he Could be talking about their past in a flashback. Like when she says “I wasn’t planning on killing you but you’re making it very tempting” could be in a bickering moment where vos is flirting with her or tryna be witty and she’s like not impressed
I'm assuming she was unintentionally resurrected by the waters of Dathomir when laid to rest. The only explanation I can think of, since that planet is weird.
On screen main characters shouldn’t be killed off screen in a book regardless of how good the book was. Like George Lucas said the books are just extra.
Having a character like Ventress killed off in a book was a poor way to go about things. I’m hoping they do retcon it and just ignore those events
Personally i think that her being laid to rest in dathomir was why she survived? Maybe Night Sister magic in the planet?

Ventress must have truly died in Dark Disciple but revived by the waters of Dathomir.
When it comes to canon movies come first, the shows, then story-based games, then books, then comics.
