Hey XLEK, just wanted to say how much these types of videos help, especially for newbies like me. I just started picking up shooting games in general this year with rivals being my main one so my aims pretty dog water rn 😭. You got any advice for aiming on controller? I’ve gotten better at landing shots in general but how do I get to hitting consistent head shots? I’ve noticed you make it a habit to hit head shots basically only on quick swivels and never tracking, is that the most optimal or is it because you got so good you can just finesse like that?
I'm terrible at aiming, it looks fun to be good tho, so maybe i'll try the aim training and see if I can actually improve. I have a feeling some innate hand eye coordination is required to achieve high levels tho, we'll see. Good luck with your UA-cam channel.
I use a very high sensitivity so it does look faster than 99% of players, especially those that do play widow. In overwatch I used a 8 times faster sens than what top widowmaker pros and streamers use, but this is how I stay consistent with my shots. Even if you just do the warmup twice a day, you will 100% see results within a few weeks, but this isn't something that is picked up overnight as it comes down to how you actually "learn" how to stay consistent with it. Thank you for the comment and the support!
3:50 here you can actually switch weapons mid air so you can shoot faster instead of having that delay after the second E, just a little trick but makes it more smooth and quick I think
I forget where I saw or read that the best and lowest Latency DPI is 2000, but 1600 is very close to having the lowest consistent Latency. I couldn't switch to 2000 because it felt like my mouse reticle was super "slippery". The higher the DPI the more input dots your sensor reads when you move your mouse. 1600 seems to be the best imo
tysm. ive gotten to lord with BW and Psyelock, i got to diamond 3 playing both, when my team would be incredibly rude and tell me to hop off widow or else, i'd switch to psyelock to comply, however widow is what i like to play, she's a sniper which i love the gameplay for and i have the modt fun with her. i hope to get better and be able to play her in rank consistently and be the best 😢
Hey brother, had another quick question for you. During your aim training doing the crazy eights and circles before you shoot the target, do you recommend going slower and focusing on accuracy first or just try and go as fast as you can? Thank you for your amazing video!
You can try to go slower, but it's like swimming, just dive in and figure it out as fast as possible. I haven't been on the other side of playing at a slower pace (like I did when I really first started gaming), but never in warmups, I always tried to exaggerate my aim to try actually learn how to control it fast because then in theory, when you actually slow it down (to normal gameplay pace), you'll play better because it's normal.
You need to find what is comfortable for you first, then try to fine tune it by doing this warmup for about a week or so. Slow sensitivities aren't the best for me, I've always played at a higher DPI - faster sens in-game, but that doesn't mean you have to be fast, you could be opposite, you just got to try it out in the practice range for 15-20 minutes to see if you can handle that, then lower it until you feel like it's controllable then build off that. I'll make a video on this in the future that's for sure.
1. Can I apply this guide with other characters? For example Hela 2. Why your crosshair white? It wouldn't be best other colours or this is what works for you?
@@Meruseta 1: I wouldn't see why not but you have to incorporate their unique play style into how to aim. Hela would be fine because she is hit scan, but trying this with squirrel girl would be hard and unnecessary because you don't need to click often. Protective heroes like Hawkeye can benefit from this as well but I think he's a slower aiming hero so it would benefit as much as you could with hit scans. 2: I think white is the best color and the only color I've used for thousands and thousands of hours throughout all the games I've played over the years. I think it's bright, easy to see and doesn't blend too much with other colors on the maps and if they do I have the slight outline to help with that
for the least latency, uncap your fps, for the most consistent latency, cap your fps. capping your fps also makes it so that screen tearing isnt a problem but keep this in mind for changing your settings
Yes, I usually keep it uncapped BUT there was a rumor (I believe it was confirmed on twitter/x) that higher fps causes more ping latency spikes. I decided to just cap it due to reading it until I did more research BUT I have been getting lower ping games & more consistency playing Widow after I did that. I know the two shouldn't cause any issues with each other but after reading it, I was like huh?
@@TheXLEK capping your fps to your monitor's refresh rate is the same thing as vsync if i remember correctly, and vsync is notorious for adding input delay i might be wrong, im not the brightest. it might also be just hardware based. but it might also be because uncapped makes it so that you're more vulnerable to fps drops therefore increasing latency. if you're like 200 fps higher than your monitor refresh rate it's probably just placebo that it's increased latency. i'll get back to you if i find anything, love your content btw!
firsf off: i love your content man! instantly subbed as a console gamer! i wish you mainstream level followership for your widow gameplay… but brother… NOBODY plays widow so the widow guide is kinda redundant
Hey that study you mentioned sounds interesting got a link or something so I can read it? Also gameplay related question I play on super slow sense on widow. Like on 87-87 on controller. My aim is nice but obviously i struggle with faster characters. Do you think I can just make this work with more muscle memory or should I just increase my sens. I start missing my shots bad once my sense turns up but I don't like being a bot as soon as I get dove
I would love to find the exact article I was reading about the study but that was like two years ago and I'm not sure exactly how I stumbled across it but it made sense when reading it. If you do something for a little bit (just the warmup for the example, then take a few hour break then come back to it and then apply it to what you're warming up for it will program your brain to succeed in a way that a regular "warm up" doesn't. To me it sounded weird at first and all smokes and mirrors but I tried it and I would say it helped. Now context, I don't do the warmup I shared in the video every single day but I have disciplined to it and have done it A LOT of times. I'm not the one to switch sensitivities often or even at all, I just try to focus on how to get better with what I have now instead of using a scapegoat of "I'm on the wrong sens, that's why I'm missing". I know to me that there is a sweet spot for everyone depending what heroes/characters they play, you just have to find it. A good way to do the warmup and incorporate testing that is to go to the practice range, and log how many kills you get in 120 seconds on that sens for a week, then try a faster or slower one and then try it again if you still feel off a little.
Ok, that is fair enough you given me enough to search for it though because that is very interesting! Actually good point there, don't use your sensitivity as a scapegoat. Just focus on improving. Appreciate it dog. Keep doing you
@XLEK if you're aim is this good with Black Widow, how successful are you with other ranged heroes that are considered more meta, like Hela, Hawkeye, Star Lord, etc...?
I don’t know if you can but I play on console and I’m really interested in playing widow and getting better I’ve already played her a few times in quick match but never in ranked because I’m too scared lmao so I wanna see what I can do to improve on there plus I already bought her white skin lol
I'm going to make a Black Widow guide but I wanted to put the Aim guide out first because landing kills is the most important part of playing her, especially since she relies heavily on aim, than just her abilities like other heroes.
@TheXLEK maybe I haven't put in hours but she feels clunky I felt maybe her ult doesn't slow her down much? Maybe a long cd grapple hook skill for positioning. Her jump as seperated skill, let it consume stamina but no need to press shift before. Her kit feels bit bland tbh.
When I did stream Overwatch, a lot of people said they would get dizzy watching me - funny enough, I don't lol but if I spin my actual body in real life around once or twice I do get super dizzy haha!
Could you make a positioning or strategy guide some time in the future? Most of the time I play I just try to stand behind my team because I feel if I try to take angles that aren't close to my healers I will die really quick, but playing in a straight line behind healers also means that the only thing I can shoot at are the tanks (Groot and Strange piss me off with their shields), and whenever I get a shot on an enemy DPS or support it's literally impossible to kill them, because they either heal back up before I can get my second shot, or they hide behind cover before I have time to get a second shot... this goes on all match long... And how do you deal with flankers like Spiderman, Magik, Psylocke or Iron Fist? It's hard to support my team with damage if I'm always are on the lookout for a Spiderman diving me... My aim is ok, but I focus too hard on my crosshair and I tunnel vision too much, so flankers are a problem for me. This game also has terrible positional sound, so by the time I hear their footsteps I'm already dead, it's too late to do anything. Would be nice to know how to position correctly and how to improve overall game sense as Widow.
its so funny to me that there are players like you who are so good at some heroes that people just target ban you like yea F this im not plaing against him on that :D
Guys this practice is good but u would achieve progress faster if u train 20 min a day gridshot, spidershot and Motion Tracking i improved within a month
I doubt there is any data behind aimlabs vs the game itself when it comes to training in the game opposed to playing it to train. But yes aimlabs can help but I felt it was more natural to train in the game than it was outside in another game (aimlabs)
I've never used kovaks or aimlabs to actually practice my aim. Those programs are proven to help but I rather aim train in the actual game itself to get used to movement, hero jump/move patterns, etc that way I'm training the correct way instead of just tracking dots through those programs etc. Again, some of those trainers will help in ways such as providing data where you lack and how you can learn to improve that so it does have it's use benefits.
They help a LOT. Way more than this, not that his advice isn't sound but it's suboptimal and you can improve 10 times faster on a good routine. Only downside is that it's boring, but sometimes the boring stuff is the best stuff.
Are you referring to just my mouse hand when I aim. You need to understand that it's just like working out, the more you do it, the more fine tuned your training is, the more consistent you'll be. Think about how people can draw with a pencil to make something look super realistic, exactly like that but for aiming in a game.
The issue is have here is that I have a potato GPU so I cannot use a 100 render scaling. I have to play on 60and below to even have consistent 60FPS. I appreciate the settings for display but they do not work for everyone. Telling people to do that without saying they should consider the specs of their system is kinda wrong but everything else is good
It does matter about specs which I did cover in the video but a lot of the settings will apply to everyone's PC as it's programs and settings you turn off in bios, windows, etc that allows your PC to work less and focus more on the game itself for performance. It's still not out yet because it's a big big video

Changed my settings to match yours and upgraded my monitor from 60 to 180hz. Currently 20W 8L on great pace for Plat this season at least if it keeps up!
That's awesome, keep pushing for that Plat!
@KEAT I'm curious, how big a difference did going from 60 to 180hz make?

I also play widow and punisher and I got to gm 1 rn but this video might make me lean twords widow more
3:50 here you can actually switch weapons mid air so you can shoot faster instead of having that delay after the second E, just a little trick but makes it more smooth and quick I think
Hmm.. I got to test that out, thank you very much!
Great guide, thanks alot! Question as to why you're using 1600 DPI? thanks
It felt good when a despised character like black widow is killing powerful heroes then getting mvp
Yup. That's how I was inspired to pick black widow on controller. 😂
how can i find a good sens? very nice video thank you, this is one of the best aim guide from a very high rank player
@@TheXLEK thanks for the tips
I just want to hear her reload over and over, so I have to learn to aim to not lose all my games.
1. Can I apply this guide with other characters? For example Hela
2. Why your crosshair white? It wouldn't be best other colours or this is what works for you?
@@Meruseta
1: I wouldn't see why not but you have to incorporate their unique play style into how to aim.
@@TheXLEK capping your fps to your monitor's refresh rate is the same thing as vsync if i remember correctly, and vsync is notorious for adding input delay
i might be wrong, im not the brightest. it might also be just hardware based. but it might also be because uncapped makes it so that you're more vulnerable to fps drops therefore increasing latency. if you're like 200 fps higher than your monitor refresh rate it's probably just placebo that it's increased latency.
i'll get back to you if i find anything, love your content btw!

It's in the video off to the right side at the beginning somewhere, but it's 1600DPI.

Would you say your guide can be applied to other heroes? Like Loki, Luna, Namor, Hawkeye?
Can this be also used in controller, especially the figure 8 training?
I would assume you can, but it might be harder due to how you aim with controller. I would try it out for a week or 2 and see if you feel any chance.
firsf off: i love your content man! instantly subbed as a console gamer! i wish you mainstream level followership for your widow gameplay… but brother… NOBODY plays widow so the widow guide is kinda redundant
but i feel like shes gonna get an insane buff for s2 and i cant wait for your gameplay 😍
Thank you for the kind words! I need to make a full in-depth guide, that will be done in the future.
Is that 2hr guide still coming?
Yes, I just got this gameplay last night and I didn't have time to finish the guide, only a shorter video.
Keep doing you
My GOAT
Goated comment!
mah boi...I'm tryna get like YOU.
Keep practicing!
since you have a pretty high sense and dpi do you only use your wrist to flick, i.e. do you not do full arm flicks
@@Kimono718 yes only wrist
@XLEK if you're aim is this good with Black Widow, how successful are you with other ranged heroes that are considered more meta, like Hela, Hawkeye, Star Lord, etc...?
Not so much because of how their movements and smaller flicks are, I have to play them a bit to understand how they move, shoot etc.
I don’t know if you can but I play on console and I’m really interested in playing widow and getting better I’ve already played her a few times in quick match but never in ranked because I’m too scared lmao so I wanna see what I can do to improve on there plus I already bought her white skin lol
I'm going to make a Black Widow guide but I wanted to put the Aim guide out first because landing kills is the most important part of playing her, especially since she relies heavily on aim, than just her abilities like other heroes.
oh wow your sense is twice mine. I'm also 1.55 but 800 dpi. I wonder if that makes a difference?
I know the higher DPI like 1600-4000 I forget which is supposedly the best DPI but it helps out a lot when its at least 1600 and above.
What buff do u think she needa
After you land a kill, the next bullet can allow a headshot instant kill on non tank.
Is your sense universal to other heroes or is this sense/dpi for widow exclusively?
I rarely play anyone else but I believe the other heros are at 1.65 sens
Good lord am I the only one going cross eyed and getting dizzy…??.?.? Jeez do I need to take pills at the same time? 😂😂😂
When I did stream Overwatch, a lot of people said they would get dizzy watching me - funny enough, I don't lol but if I spin my actual body in real life around once or twice I do get super dizzy haha!
At 15:37 are you tracking with your eyes and flicking to them?
Yes, you want to try to focus on the targets (tracking them), while trying to flick to them.
Does this help with controller at all? I play on PC but i use controller
I would assume it could help for controller to but I never tested it. I would try and see what happens
So is your ads sensitivity faster then ur hip fire? Why a higher multiplier (1.25) rather then lower or same
its so funny to me that there are players like you who are so good at some heroes that people just target ban you like yea F this im not plaing against him on that :D
@TheXLEK well it is indeed i dont doubt your method bro
@mgm8593 oh I know I'm just explaining the other way just in case others read our comments
Do aim trainers help at all too? To be an extra edition to trying to improve aim? If so any recommendations?
Gridshot and Spidershot and Motion Tracking in Aimlabs and u are fine
real question is how are you so good playing one handed
