    Holy moly. I have been fighting my z6ii re auto bracketing since the day I bought it. UA-cam has tons of "how to's" and everyone has their opinion on the best way. Today I stumble across your video and..... Magic. Now it is easy to use. THANK YOU for making this video.

    Thank you, this was really helpful. I'm shooting the Eclipse tomorrow and have had a difficult time figuring out bracketing. This video was much more helpful than most. Thanks again!

      @EmmettBudd Thanks. Me too, I did pretty well in 2017 flying by the seat of my pants. I'm a bit nervous this time because I almost feel I'm over preparing.

    Thank you very much for this video. I just went through a long question and answer chat session with a Nikon 3rd party tech that kept asking why I was using brackets and what I needed them for only to say, after an hour, I should go buy a book on the subject.

    Thank you so much. Just to make sure I understand - one can “turn on” AEB by changing the number of exposures from 0 to 3 or 5, etc. (and I turn off AEB by returning the number of exposures to 0), right?

    Great video. Concise and to the point. One suggestion, could the bracketed picture merged in the camera? Thank you.

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  2 роки тому +1

      The bracketed photo can't be merged in the camera, but there is an HDR mode under the shooting menu. I'll try to make a video about it in the future, but it's pretty simple to use but requires the camera and subject to be completely motionless since it doesn't align the images as well as a photo editor would.

    Is it possible to sink a flash on Z6II with focus bracketing mode like in Olympus

    When shooting something like a sunset, I like to turn on the interval timer and shoot a bracket of 3 shots every 20 or 30 seconds. Am I not able to do that with my Z6ii?

    What software did you use to process that final image? It looks great. Do you have a video on how you processed it?

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  2 роки тому

      Thank you! I created and edited the HDR in Affinity Photo. I don't have a video processing this particular photo but I do have a photo editing playlist here: ua-cam.com/play/PLuWmHx5eveYbFWWVoTTfbv70tc990KpPR.html

    Great video. Is it possible to save the bracketing settings to C1, C2 etc? Example C1 for bracketing and self timer, and C2 for bracketing and rapid burst. Thanks.

      I have the same question. Have you figured out if this can be done? Seems annoying to have to go into the menu each time you want to use bracketing. On a Panasonic Lumix ZS100 camera I just have to turn to one of the "user" dials, where I set up bracketing. That is set to the burst mode.

    How do you set the central exposure speed?
    I want to take a series of exposures from 1/3200 to 4 seconds at F/11 with 1 stop increments. How do I do this?
    Many thanks.
    Paul

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  7 місяців тому +1

      The central exposure is the camera's current settings when you start taking the bracket, and then it will automatically shoot above and below that point.
      For your use case, that range looks to be 15 stops, and the Z6ii will only take 9 photos at one stop increments of bracketing, so unfortunately one bracket won't cover that whole range, you'll have to adjust the settings once to cover it.
      That said, I'd suggest using manual mode. Turn the auto ISO off, set your f/11 aperture, and then set the shutter speed on the center stop you want for the bracket. Set the number of photos you want and an interval of 1 stop between them. In this case, if you use 9 photos at 1 stop, setting the shutter at 1/200 will cover the top 9 stops, from 1/3200 to 1/13, and then setting it at 1/4 will cover the bottom 9, from 1/60 to 4" (these don't align with the upper range perfectly because of rounding). You could tweak the settings to avoid overlap, but that's the overall process.

    Hi Emmett, thank you for your video. I'm very interested in landscape photography with Nikon Z6ii, but I haven't yet got the camera. How many EVs the Exposure Bracketing maximumly cover? For example, if the frames is set at 9, increment is set at 1EV, will it cover 9EVs : -4,-3,-2,-1, 0, +1, +2,+3,+4 ?

    I'd like to do these things but use
    _'Focus Shift - Bracketing'_ at the same time.

    I use bracketing and would fiddle with the menu on the spot. Adding it to the info screen is such a "duh!" simple solution! 👍

    Can anyone tell me why auto bracketing doesn’t work in manual mode? Works in auto modes and user modes. Am I being stupid??😂

      If anyone else is having this problem, you need to change menu E6. I had my in flash only!🤦‍♂️
