- Since the tragic death of her husband, Carmen has been having a hard time making ends meet. Despite taking a second job to support her young son and their home, she can't seem to pay the bills on time. To make matters worse, the family dog, Cleveland, has a medical condition and his medical bills cost hundreds of dollars a month. Carmen makes the difficult decision of giving up the dog, but luckily, the good deed of a stranger allows Cleveland to come home for good.

Some of you people really need to cut that woman some slack. Can't you tell she felt bad enough to do what she did? It's not like she just dropped the dog off and left. 1. She left him in a crowded area where it was more likely someone would find him. 2. She left him with a note telling his name and asking whoever found him to give him a good home. 3. She left him with the medicine he needed. 4. She took him back when the nice vet offered to take care of him for no charge.
@Alfie Bell Exactly. It's not like she's completely abandoning him. She left him in a crowded area where it's more likely someone will find him and pick him up and take him in. And she left a note with him telling his name and explaining his situation. I know people are saying, "She should have taken him to a vet." but maybe she can't afford a vet. Vets don't take care of pets for free, and they're not cheap either.
Why did she buy him if she couldn't afford his needs then.
This just wonderful to hear this story ! In a time in which we are living in!! I’m crying just as hard as the mother in this story!!!

@@kballard27 Exactly. I totally agree, and she didn't exactly abandon him. She left a note in his bag telling what his name is and she left him with the medicine he needed. And she left him in a place where there were many people around so he'd have a better chance of somebody finding him. Sure, he might have been taken by a family that ended up abusing him, but that could have easily happened if she took him to a shelter or the humane society. They have no way of knowing what kind of people adopt the animals there, whether they are nice people or mean people. All they can do is hope the animals go to a good home.

I’ve lost two of my dogs from old age and hip dysplasia; it was hard losing a dog and after losing my second dog, Jack, I was devastated and he was my best friend.
We still have one other dog, but she’s getting older too and we have a younger dog for a year now, but I still never forgot our two dogs that we have since I was younger.
Rest In Peace, Jack and Deuce (they’re the names of my two older dogs).🐶🐶

I love the ending of this video my little chihuahua zoey just passed a couple of days ago maybe a week ago but she was old she was 15 years old and was blind and going deaf so we knew it was coming it just kinda hit hard when it happened so be thankful when you have a pet cause its hard when you lose them

@@lynnejohnston8922 thank you and yes they do she was one of the best dogs I have ever had a lady I knew that had a long haired chihuahua used to walk her dog in a stroller and her dog was 17 years old had dementia and she had to have it put down

Poor dog, being abandoned by the owner. It is still loyal, it will try to find the owner again. This mother forced her son to part ways with Cleveland. It is so wrong, the bond between boy and his pet is too strong!! Screw the mother!!
You are being way too hard on her. Did she just leave him stranded? No. She left a note in his collar telling his name and asking someone to give him a good home She left him with the medicine he needed. What else was she supposed to do? It's not she just decided "We don't want you anymore" and just dumped him by a road with nowhere to go. She couldn't afford to take care of him anymore.
I feel like the mom could've taken the dog to the humane society. There are bad people in the world who would've used him for a bait dog.
@@indeed1965 Well, that's possible. She said she didn't take him to the humane society because she was afraid they would put him to sleep because he had so many problems. I just got tired of people saying "She's a monster" when she obviously felt bad about leaving him.

I’m not saying the mom did the right thing by abandoning Cleveland, but she felt like she didn’t have much choice. We can understand why she did it.
Then take the dog to the vet not abandon where the dog could die from the heat and being outside and other things. No reason for abandoning the pet dog. That's not right even if you don't have a choice. Because what happens if the dog didn't get a new owner that way? Animal cruelty and neglect. I wouldn't have done what she did. I'd go to the vet or sell the dog. Instead of abandoning the pet

She left him with the medicine he needed and a note asking someone to give him a good home. So, you can't just say she "abandoned him". You could tell she hated doing what she did, but she felt like she had no other choice.

Unfortunately, there is no easy solution in a case like this. You cut expenses the best you can. And you hope and pray it's enough.
I lost my husband 3 months ago. I'm still figuring out my finances. I'm old enough to receive his pension and widow's benefits, but I'm also too young to receive the full amount. The difference in finances is over $1000 less a month.

Why have a dog if I can't afford it so why bother making a commitment if I can't keep it if I am poor and broke and my parents always say no when they are evil.
