I watch this entire series. The show is a bit slow. BUT worth the watch! It was a really good drama. The acting and costumes were spot on.

Brought back the nostalgia of my childhood in Singapore watching Chinese opera. . Pity its a dying art now. Hope this drama will help its revival especially with two talented actors in it.
其实大多数观众并不是那么容易可以被忽悠的。不管是捧还是踩，真有实力放在那儿，还是可以被发现被认可的。就看到了一个小片段，认识的尹正一下子就被他吸引过来。
看完了再来评，太好了，尹正，黄晓明超级棒。剧本，导演及所有一切都堪称一等一的难得好剧。都爱上京剧了。谢谢您们呈现了这么完美的剧👍👍👍虽然迟了2年才发现它。但感觉有幸没有错过。

this is the same director as arsenal military academy (which is a MUST WATCH!) and the actor, Andrew Yin, was in that series as well! I can't wait to see how this historical drama is done since hui kai dong has done a tremendous job as a director!!

于正的商細蕊真是讓人驚艷！過去電影的男扮女裝，沒有人能像于正一樣，根本看不出他是男人！于正扮商細蕊真是用心，看他吃瓜子的樣子，他吃東西腮幫子塞的鼓鼓的樣子，真是可愛！
其實是二爺是先撩撥商細蕊的人，他並不知道自己在這樣做，對商細蕊先是因他的扮相雷似其母，後來他漸漸被商細蕊奇特的個性吸引，而無法自拔。每次他看到商細蕊，眼裡的情都像是看著一個心愛的人一樣！其實商細蕊在二爺心中代表了兩個人：他那在他八歲時出走的母親及他從商以前那個像商細蕊一樣真誠、善良的人。他母親在二爺八歲時出走，並未明說出走的原因，二爺也定不明白，如今他看到了一個扮像像極了自己的母親，又是個戱痴子，他很快的就為自己找到了一個母親不得不放棄自己的一個光勉堂皇的理由：「是啊！她一定是為了追求更高的戱劇境界而放棄我的！和那個境界相比，我又算什麼呢？是的！她一定是因為這樣的！」。二爺試著說服自己，雖然誰也不知道她是不是單純的就是愛上了戱劇？還是受不了沒有自由的日子、而只有用自己唯一知道的方法謀生？二爺曾說他身不由己的當了商人，他後悔，然後眼前這個至善至真的人，又何不是自己一直想成為的不是嗎？然後今日的二爺是無法回到那個境界，不如守護著這個偶像，讓他替自己活出自己想要的樣子，所花的代價還是比自己親身成為的少一些，而且商細蕊也非弱者，処処需要自己維護。這個劇演的真好！可以一看再看！

Anyway, I waited for a great drama again after Royal Nirvana but now I mean this is not at this level. Although this is enjoyable and the pictures are amazing as generally in Chinese movies plus highly appreciate actors and the director as well. As a Europen woman, I try to learn the difficult emotional relationships of the main characters and the frantic effect of Chinese opera-style. I'll do not give up! By and be strong and happy every bad pass by and better time will come again!

the great actor perfoming President Jiang has a leading-co-role in Wuxia drama Ever Night part I... he has so amazing and strong there.. I loved him so much, as the teacher Fu Zi of the (leader) main character. Ning Que (played by Chen Feyju).. such a gorgeous, perfect interpretation!!! he is a great great actor indeed!!
