You are absolutely bang on Neel, I was in NY week before you, it was my first time in NY at East Coast . NY is dirty, dangerous , subways are smelly and worst, no count of homeless, ....And its all because of some community who do all the crimes. One needs to be safe while walking in some areas in NY.

All the major cities in the US are not worth visiting or living in my personal opinion. Whatever you said is very true. Smaller towns or cities are way better to live in. Cuz these places have everything which the major cities offer. National parks is something worth visiting. If your in SF Yosemite is a marvel.
