I think it’s great you enjoy being minimal. I tried it and it wasn’t for me. I entertain often and those serving dishes take up space, plus I have a lot cookware and small appliances i enjoy using! It’s nice to see how others do things. Thank you for sharing your space with us.
But if you keep the serving trays and small appliances you use and enjoy, that can still be minimalist! I hear so often people think that minimalism is beige and empty houses, but minimalists can have colorful homes with lots of fun stuff, Sarah's minimal home might not be the same as yours, but it's all about keeping what you use and love, and getting rid of the rest! Not just getting rid of everything that takes up space!
@@faithcritchfield1066that may be leaning towards more minimal with only having what you love or use, but it is not minimalism. This kitchen is beautiful, well organized and large with a lot of storage space. I love it. It is not minimal.
A gentle reminder about minimalism: Minimalism looks different in every home, because minimalism is not about getting rid of everything you can possibly live without, or trying to make your home look like a show house, it's about only living with what you use and love, for some this will be very little, and for others a lot more. I feel so sad whenever I hear "minimalism isn't for me, I like color too much!' or "I can't be a minimalist I have too much stuff that I use all the time!" Anyone can be a minimalist, and everyone's minimalist home will look different. Joshua Becker defined minimalism: "The intentional promotion of the things we most value, and the removal of everything that distracts us from them" Thank you for reading!
I also recently read a very well worded definition that included "based on the space". She has a huge kitchen so she can keep a good amount of optional (nice to have) items such as the ice cream maker or a popcorn maker and still keep it uncluttered, so she does. People with smaller homes and tiny kitchens will logically opt to reduce them at least as long as they are in the small space.
Everyone can do minimalism in their one way, but there is a standard for it. Minimal means minimal amount, quantity, or degree. Her kitchen is well organized, but it’s not minimal. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Minimalism is on trend so some would like to identify as being “minimalist” when it might just be their fantasy self.
@@MichelleNovalee I agree with this. There are some UA-cam channels that call themselves minimalist but to me it looks like an average amount of stuff. Just because you say you got rid of 75% of your belongings doesn’t mean that you are a minimalist. It could just mean that you went from an excessive amount to a normal amount of things. Which is great but not necessarily minimal.
@@MichelleNovaleevery true. Very few people who call themselves a minimalist are not. They feel that they live with less than they once did or are organized and tidy means they are. I own so much less than I once did but don’t call myself a minimalist. I just say that I tend to be more minimal. Lol
If I am being honest, your kitchen only looks minimalist because it’s big, there is nothing wrong with that. I’m just saying it because I have a small kitchen and it’s much more difficult for it to look minimalist/tidy. I love your big kitchen! You inspired me to create my own baking cupboard and I’ve never gone back. It functions so well! I also use cutting boards to help keep my counters looking organized.
Agreeeeeeed. We have very minimal amount of things and it still is cluttered simply because we have a very small kitchen where basically only one of us can be in at a time. Not possible for us
I agree. All those things would never fit in my kitchen! I have 3 lower cabinets+ under sink and 1 regular sized upper cabinet and 1 skinny. To me, that kitchen is huge!
Her kitchen doesn’t look minimalist to me. It looks like a well organized, clutter-free kitchen, leaning toward the maximalist side. Perhaps she used “minimalism” in the title as click bait bc it’s on trend, but I didn’t hear her call it a minimalist kitchen in the video.
I know you don’t love the white of your kitchen and I prefer colour too. However I do love how bright your kitchen is. Nothing is worse than trying to cook in a kitchen that feels dark . Loved the video Sarah thank you for sharing
If you watch the video from 3 years ago where she revelas her kitchen renovation (where they took out wooden cabinets and replaced with white everything) she says and I quote "in my house I like everything to be light and bright. I like white, i like gray. When it came to white cabinets I was like YES, i love the look of white cabinets." And now she says she does not like white kitchens, they only did it for resale value, and she personally likes colour and wood. It is not only weirdly dishonest, but also ungrateful.
“Scientists at the University of Wisconsin have found that 99.9% of bacteria placed on a wooden chopping board begin to die completely within minutes. After being left at room temperature overnight, there were no remaining living bacteria on the wooden boards the next day. I love simplicity in my kitchen. I have learned to upgrade some things in my kitchen (like my knifes, cutting board and containers, and pans) that I would use more often and got rid of many kitchen gadgets I never used. Since I have to use my kitchen daily; making it easy to clean and have a home for everything has become such a huge blessing: time management in my day, it’s aesthetically pleasing to my eye, and i enjoy the space while using it.

I don't have clear counters, but I have taken a lot of things off like the cooking utensils, salt, peper, butter, coffee stuff and even the toaster. The only things I want on my counters are my stand mixer, our family basket of water bottles and my food scrap bin. Do you store your cleaned dishes in the dishwasher? This my dilema. I dont want to store dishes in a dish rack on the counter. Trying to figure out what to do with them. Any suggestions / tips is welcomed.

Just wondering, but didn't you used to do makeup tutorials like a long time ago? If so, I used to watch you a loooong time ago. I forget what platform it was on, but you were a huge inspiration to me. You just look sooo familiar to me. So sorry if this is weird! I just remember watching you, and you JUST had your first born. So u want people to pay for your patreon to basically have to be workers and do grunt work for you for not only free but have to pay 😂😂😂😂😂as if you are that important and special
I’d say it is minimal in comparison to the average kitchen that I’ve been in. Most everyone that I know have excessive amounts in their cabinets and drawers. I was surprised that I personally have less in my kitchen for our family than what she has. But it is all personal preference.
It’s not minimal or even close to. What it’s called is being very on trend and it’s very well planned out I’ll give her that. In terms of minimalism , I don’t think she should try to shoot for wearing that badge as though it’s an honour. It’s not being minimalist in real life is being poor. The rest are just people jumping on a trend that seems to include buying more crap then discarding it on repeat. The regular decluttering masks a real obsession with accumulating things via shopping addiction.
You should unplug your charger if not in use. It’s a waste of electricity and bad for your wallet and the planet. Also, are you not recycling? It’s important to start if you’re not.
I don’t think you should tell people what to do. I do think being thoughtful about minimizing our impact on the planet is important. However, people should come to it in their own time and own way… that makes it more likely to become a lifestyle. Just saying

Do you store your cleaned dishes in the dishwasher? This my dilema. I dont want to store dishes in a dish rack on the counter. Trying to figure out what to do with them. Any suggestions / tips is welcomed.
Just buy oreos. You eat cookies once on a while. You can get the real deal.
Maybe second. Now you have 5? Amazing. Glad to see you doing other things!! Again, hope this isn't weird. 😊💙
Yes she did when she lived in a trailer. She also had another channel that has 1 mill subs that she left and now she has this one
I’m having trouble finding the blue land link
It’s not here 🤷♀️
Hi! Why do you homeschool your kids? What are advantages to that and do you need to pass some sort of teaching exam to teach your children?
What is your countertop material?
💜💜💜💜💜
Okay but what is the Oreo recipe 👀👀👀
Did I miss the spices?

Yayyy I’m so excited when you post Sarah!!💛 I recently started my youtube channel in my mom era and I’d cry if anyone checked it out? 🥹🥹💛
Sarah, do you answer questions?
I have 50% clutter in my kitchen.
So u want people to pay for your patreon to basically have to be workers and do grunt work for you for not only free but have to pay 😂😂😂😂😂as if you are that important and special
This is so far from minimal
Minimal it is not.
You have an obsession and need help.
@@unabellavita6541lol I don’t care what you think
Minimal is personal. She uses what she has as opposed to lots of dishes/appliances she doesn’t use.
🙄🙄🙄🙄
How many kW is that? 0.0000001?
I don’t think you should tell people what to do. I do think being thoughtful about minimizing our impact on the planet is important. However, people should come to it in their own time and own way… that makes it more likely to become a lifestyle. Just saying
I think that area in BC has a specific bin for recycle so I think they just bring them down as they go...

Right? They built that whole kitchen. I'm pretty sure the other one they had wasn't white, but I could be remembering incorrectly.
Well, I’ve been following her since she had the other channel and I remember she saying in the kitchen tour that she would like more color on the cabinets.
What's wrong if her style changed?
She literally described this as her “dream kitchen” and now she acts like she hates it 😂
@@cal59281Does anyone remember what year they remodeled it? 2019? I'm finding articles on hexagon tile trending back to 2016.
