Lmao, same initial thought. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think they’re slightly too young to have been super into the first HSM. It premiered like JUST as I was aging out of Disney Channel. We’re in the era of knowing someone’s age by the references they understand/make. 😅
My favorite secret continuity issue in this movie is in one of the scenes from the 1989 basketball game in the beginning, there’s a guy in the crowd in the bleachers wearing a “paramore” shirt 😂
I don't know what's funnier, the confidence with which Zuff said Zac was most famous for being Ted Bundy with his whole chest, or the way Bryce and and Rob were so taken off guard by it that they let it slide 😂 Also love that Bryce got excited to see the one and only iconic Chad Dylan Cooper from Sonny with a Chance, I got excited when I realized it was him too! The role he plays here is so different from what he was on Disney lol it's fun to see the difference
Okay y’all gotta watch High School Musical. Immediately. This is a crime😭 Y’all should also watch the original Seventeen Again. I don’t think this one was marketed as a remake, but the concept was most def done earlier.
And Does A Damn Good Job At Doing It Cause Back In This Era Honey He Would Of Got Me‼️😂🤣😍😏😝🍿🎥✨👏🏾💯 Especially In HSM3 Okayyy!!!! It Was Giving Full Green Flag 💍✅ Boyfriend ( Pulls Hair Up In A Hair Tie ) 💦 ( Puts On Knee Pads )
This movie definitely still holds up after all these years. The korean drama adaptation of this dug deeper into the relationship of everyone it was devastating and beautiful.
I am a 44 year old woman and this is a guilty pleasure.... I love this movie!!! I have 2 sons who are 22 and 19 so this resonates with me! Sadly not the same outcome but again, it's a wholesome movie. Much love fellas.
This is one of the greatest comedy movies ever and one of my favorites. Such a great film and such a timeless movie! I can watch it over and over and never get tired. ❤ Great reaction! 👌🏻
I love how everybody talks about how Mike/Mark should "expect that to happen", when his daughter starts to fall for him. I get that they're not parents, so they don't fully understand, but really? His hug/words are *exactly* how a loving dad would comfort his grieving/reeling daughter. It would be *more* weird for him to actually think of something like that. He's actively in dad mode, not oh hey I'm a hot teenage boy mode.
23:56 Looking back, 2008-2010 seemed like the transition period from traditional mobile/cell phones to smartphones and I get nostalgic about it when I see movies that were released back then. Funny how there flip and fold smartphones now.
7:13 I thought that too but then again in the 90s I didn’t think this is how Matthew would grow up to look like. Young Matthew and young Zac don’t look entirely dissimilar 😊
You guys crack me up. 😂 I know you guys are young but I PROMISE you it’s not normal to recognize people 17 years later. Even now you guys wouldn’t recognize a friend from second grade if they had moved away that year and you never saw them again. If you met someone today and they were like “this is my son” you wouldn’t look at the son and go “Mike! Is that you?!” 😂 It absolutely is the same from teen years to middle age adults. If I ran into my teen mom I would think she has strong cheekbones like my mom. But so do others. I’ve already had that thought before. So that resemblance wouldn’t be new. I don’t think most kids spend a lot of time looking at old photos of their parents. And the friends I’ve had since high school? I’ve seen them grow and change in real time. Now the image of them in my head is the new them, not the old them. If I ran into teen them I’d think there was some similarities but I absolutely wouldn’t realize how exact the likeness is. If I was told it was a relative? Like my friend’s niece or cousin? That would be explanation enough for me. Not to mention in real life you would never honestly think “wait! It must be magic!” 😂😂😂😂
I always love your reactions, but more than anything I love the way y’all interact and see how deep the love and friendship is between yall❤❤ like Zuff and Bryce having a lil Brittany and Tiffany Wilson moment, so cute 😂
I saw this movie in the theater with my father who was a pharmaceutical rep for 25yrs. The scene at Mike’s office where he is disrespected, surrounded by much younger, way less qualified people is 100% accurate to the year of the setting. To a tee. My father was a stellar salesperson with a fantastic sales record. He’d won awards, won the company sales competition many times, and was beloved by the Drs he visited. But there was this massive shift in the pharmaceutical sales arena in the early 2000s and suddenly all they wanted to hire were pretty blondes in their 20s who couldn’t sale for shit and yet kept getting promoted. The bosses got younger too. My father’s best friend was also his boss for the last decade he worked at the company, and they were both in their early 50s in beginning of 2000. This movie was released in 2009, so it was probably filmed in 2008. By the time this movie came out, my father, his best friend/boss, and every single sales rep over 50 at the company had been put to pasture with prejudice. It was blatant ageism. But the company had all the older sales reps sign a severance deal that basically kept them legally unable to sue. Real dirty treatment from the company. I say all this to preface this little anecdote: When my father saw the scene where the much younger boss took a friend’s unimportant call in the middle of Mike talking to him, my father goes, “Should’ve just hit him. It’s like deja vu. This is the (company name here) I left behind. At the end there were more blonde bimbos in the office than on a porno set. Ladies didn’t know the names of the drugs they were selling. Couldn’t tell a Dr the side-effects from memory.” As for my reaction to the movie-Loved it! Not a huge Efron fan though I grew up when HSM was first aired, so I saw the hype firsthand. But I think this was a great role for him. Light in a lot of ways, like HSM, but it had some more somber scenes for him to navigate as well. And I thought his chemistry with Leslie was appropriately double-sided. The way he delivered the “you just look like you can move” line and his “oh god what did I say!” reaction afterward is my favorite moment in the movie. It’s worth noting, the shooting script for this movie is vastly different. The director changed a lot. Especially Mike’s interest in the teenage girls that were throwing themselves at him. And the entirety of Ned’s character. In the script, he’s a misogynistic prick.
Robs “I hate you” to Zuff 😂 & Zac Efron being most known for Ted Bundy but not Troy Bolton 😂 (though, he was great as Ted Bundy). This movie is peak Zac Efron ❤ & Ned is hilarious 😂 Great reaction guys! Also, I feel we now need Zuffs reaction to the HSM Trilogy… 🎶
My sister used to take me out to see a movie with her for my birthday every year. 17 again was one of those movies! And somehow we lucked out to be the only ones in the theater for that showing. I have very fond memories of this movie just because of that and i loved watching you're guys' reactions to the wildness of it lol
I remember when this came out, it was right on the heels of Zac Efron's blowup for HSM and his first real debut in a mainstream blockbuster. I was in HS at the time and the thirst for that man was so real. He was the celeb crush of half the girls at my school. The directing of this film leads me to believe they fully relied on that. I had a dream after seeing this movie that I asked out Zac Efron in the school hallway and he kindly turned me down and I woke up SOBBING. I stopped immediately, realized wtf, and flipped to laughing. The funniest part? I'm not straight so I would have rejected HIM. Still makes me chuckle to think about. This is his funniest role imo but my fave will always be Link in Hair Spray.
If you guys enjoyed It's Okay To Not Be Okay and this movie I think you might enjoy the Korean series adaption of 17 Again (called 18 Again since Koreans are considered 1y.o when they) when they're born. It explores the characters, emotions, and cringey moments much more in-depth! (usually get bored of kdramas and drop/start skipping around the 10 episode mark but this one kept me engaged the whole way through)
Rockin the Heartstopper sweatshirt. I love to see it. Your reactions to that show is how I found your channel. Loved this reaction. You guys are so funny
I'm sorry but Matthew Perry in his peak days can definitely pull off a Zac Efron!! If not even better looking 😅 He was hella attractive and had similar features to Zac
By the way guys, there is a 2020 kdrama based on this movie! It's called "18 Again" and stars Lee Dohyun (from Sweet Home, The Good Bad Mother, Youth of May and more). Obviously not all aspects of the drama are exactly like the movie, but this makes it more fun to watch. Both hilarious and it's actually surprisingly emotional, especially all the aspects it goes into. And of course with a kdrama, there are multiple episodes, so we can delve deeper into certain aspects of the story and introduce new storylines. I really enjoyed this drama, although admittedly I haven't made it past episode 13 or 14, somewhere there (16 eps in total like most kdramas). Edit: also, the transformation back into his younger self is a bit less... random and dramatic in the kdrama than a random whirlpool vortex that he just somehow manages to fall into 😂 Edit 2: there's also no creepy uncomfortable dad-daughter thing
27:25 I feel like for her she gets transported back and keeps getting lost in the idea that this is her husband and has to keep reminding herself it’s not (even though it actually is haha). I think I would be suspicious that my ex husband actually had a kid with someone else around the same time as they had their kid since he’s the same age as her daughter and he looks JUST LIKE HER HUSBAND AT THAT AGE. I have to say they have great chemistry though!
there's a kdrama with 16 episode titled " 18 again " actually inspired by this movie , i can it's just 40% similar to the movie they change it to be a more family-friendly genre which is so good , one of my favorite kdrama and great actors and actresses there
Wait, she doesn't know Mark is her dad in 17 year old form, BUT she DOES THINK he's her uncle's son, which makes him her cousin, her first cousin, and she knows this, so acting on any attraction at all is kind of gross.
I quite literally JUST REALIZED that the bleach blonde hair and being named Stan may have been a reference to the Eminem song with Dido, Stan. I may be wrong??? Edit: I DID THINK IT WAS MGK FOR A SEC but then I remembered I’ve seen this movie and it’s definitely not. But was absolutely questioning for a moment
Zuff must be joking. We seriously need him to watch High School Musical right now to know Zac back then. I also need them to watch the original one with Tamera, Tia and Tahj Mowry.
I enjoy Zac Efron at his Zac Efron-iest in movies like this. Overall, I prefer the plot and soundtrack of the original Seventeen Again with the Mowry family. Maybe give it a look someday.

The way Zuff skipped right over High School Musical and said Zac was notoriously known for Ted Bundy caught me so off guard lmfaaooo 😭
T as in Troy? No, T as in Ted Bundy. 😂
Zuff always surprises me. He's my least favorite of the three. But he definitely keeps these videos interesting.

Love him for that tbh 😂
Well it just means we’re old 😂
I always love that Bryce and Rob laugh at Zuff’s unhinged comments but still let him finish his thoughts and be respectful of his opinions 😂
Bryce dodging and weaving when Maggie starts getting too close to the 17 yr old version of her dad.. “get off”!! 😬😬😂
Here's the thing, she does think he's her dad's brother's son, which would be her first cousin that she knows him as, so eww.
Theyre not actually brothers. Hes that close family friend thats just considered an uncle. @RobertMorgan

LMAO when Bryce said to Zuff at the beginning “what’s he not in” 😂
The way I burst into laughter like Rob when Bryce said "Is that Elijah Wood?" 😭😭😭
This is the movie that proved to me that Zac Efron can act and actually has comedic chops. If you've never seen Neighbors, it's really fun.
