How do you feel about Tony Hawk's Underground 2? Love it? Not a fan? Let's talk about it! 🛹
This was the first Tony Hawk game I owned and I loved it
Thanks for watching!!
Played PS3&4 THUG AND THUG2 back in the day, and THUG2 is by far the best game, it felt so complete while also insane with the jackass theme, also the game really captures the vibes of the early 2000s
I love this game
The sound track is absolutely banger! The lack of fast travel did suck but I’d find new secrets and areas by going back to the challenge start
I spent hours playing this game and it’s a huge nostalgic part of my childhood
as a Tony Hawk fan, this game is objectively the best. Its graphics engine was the smoothest way to play the game, and I like that it didn't try to tell a serious story about a skater just trying to make it. It was balls to the wall and embraced the comedy and destruction. My only gripe is that after beating it 50 plus times, the game does feel short. But it also has the best classic mode in any Tony Hawk game. Goated
Love this game! My favourite of the series with THPS4
Never really cared for the story but damn the gameplay is just flawless.
Thanks for watching!
Classic mode in this game is great, with only one flaw so far as I’m concerned: there’s no indicator for which stat points you haven’t picked up yet, so if you miss any you’ll be searching back through every level for them-best practice to get all five per level as you go through.
The story mode… ugh. It isn’t the obnoxious Jackass vibes I don’t like, or even the lack of a real story-this is a sports game so I don’t much care about those (and I love Jackass; works better when the hijinks are naturalistic rather than scripted and manufactured for a video game, but I don’t mind the tone). What I dislike about the story mode is the pace of knocking out objectives.
In THUG, NPCs had indicators over their heads if they had an objective for you, and as you point out you could just select each objective from the menu. This made for a breezy pace where it was always obvious who you needed to talk to and what you needed to do. That’s not the case in THUG 2, which makes completing the objectives and story a bit of a drag.
THPS4 actually had the best system: like THUG and THUG2, it had an open world approach, and you could select objectives from the menu but only after finding and speaking to the NPCs (they were greyed out otherwise)-that’s a balance that would have worked for THUG2 with its secret areas/skaters to find, and it’s weird that they got it so right two iterations back and didn’t bring that system back for this one.
Not a bad game, it’s got some great levels, and overall I prefer the selection in classic mode here than in THAW. But… those story pacing issues are a drag, making this my least favourite of the first 7 games.
Still a solid title that I will play again and again, but I do prefer all of the other entries from THPS1 to THAW… even though I do think THUG2’s classic mode is better than THAW’s.
okay listen hear me out. this is the best tony hawk game ever made fight me lol Btw. skateopia is based on the real life skateopia :)
Top of my recommended page, gave me the first view
🙏 Thanks for checking it out!
I was 9 had saved up 25$ to buy this game on eBay via auction so glad
I won cuz this shit was fire played the first and THAW afterwards
the thps1+2 they released in 2020 is complete utter dog shit compared to thug2 games in my opinion
