  • This is the best fluid head tripod for video that I've ever used. The Benro S8 single leg aluminum video tripod kit (A373FBS8) is perfect for getting smooth pans and tilts when using a DSLR or cinema camera. The Benro S8 fluid head and tripod legs are very affordable for the quality that you get, coming in around $399 depending on when and where you buy it. Fluid head tripods are the only way to go when you're filming videos, I photography tripod simply won't cut it because there's no build in resistance and drag. I'll also show you how to balance a fluid tripod head in this review. Finally we take a look at the Benro 75mm Hi-Hat (HH75AV) Enjoy all the technical stuff!

    Great Video. I just may pick up one. Question where can I go pick up wheels for this Benro S8 ?

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  4 роки тому

      gatlinproduction awesome! That’s a good question. I haven’t specifically doing wheels for this tripod, but there are many universal tripod wheels and mounts that should work with it.

      Yes, it's still working great for me! The only thing that broke for me was the little bubble level light. But I actually have 2 of these tripods now and the other one hasn't had any issues.

    So I currently have a Manfrotto MVH502AH head. A person locally is selling their Benro S8 head for around $160. While I know that's a pretty good price does it really do much for me since I already have the Manfrotto head? Is it THAT much better?

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  5 років тому

      Gerald Bertram Photography I’ve used that Manfrotto Head A LOT and they’re very similar in design and capability, but I still prefer the Benro S8. I think it’s totally up to you and if you think it’s worth the change. You probably won’t see a massive jump between the two models but it is nicer IMO.

    Hi can you please give me some information on the rig being used in the demonstration of this video? I like how simple and compact it is and I’m transitioning from Pro video camera to DSLR.
    Thanks,

      D Hamilton heck yeah man! It’s the rig I’m using for all my big videos these days. Switching from pro cameras to DSLR is an interesting move, I respect it though cause I love both. I just made a video talking about the full build of the rig here: ua-cam.com/video/EL_eoU1vkSY/v-deo.html

    Hi Chadwin, I am looking at purchasing this tripod but i have a question you mentioned that you did not want to pay the extra $200 for the carbon fibre as the weight difference was not enough of a benefit in your opinion, but the carbon fibre version has 5 Leg sections where as the aluminium only has 3, I was wonder what difference this would make and is 3 leg sections enough in your opinion? Thank you!

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  4 роки тому

      Max Slater yeah, the lighter weight difference wasn’t worth it to me for the money. It might be in 5 leg sections to keep strength integrity for carbon fiber in shorter pieces. But I’d check the max height of both Tripods to see if they’re different

    LOL man, I absolutely hate the Benro heads!
    Can't clip it from the top. No numbers to know your drag setting, only 3 steps of countenance. Prefer to go for a sachtler FSB8 or fsb6 of you can't afford that.
    I'm getting the new Ozen Agile 10 head.

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  5 років тому +2

      Michael Frymus yeah man I get it. There are some little flaws like that and things it’s missing. But for the price, it’s pretty unbeatable for its abilities as fluid head for larger rigs. Maybe someday I’ll be able afford a sachtler! Haha!

    I'm torn between S6 pro vs S8 pro heads and this A373F vs Aero7 (A3883T), did You try the second one? My setup is about 4,5kg, what would you recommend? I like to shoot low angle shots and appreciate quick and compact setup.

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  3 роки тому +1

      I've only tried the S8 head and its definitely a small or light compact setup. holds great weight tho and can get very low angle. I'd check out the iFootage tripods as well! ua-cam.com/video/Dm3WSwCO9ww/v-deo.html

    So can I get good video using a tripod instead of a gimbal. I've tried gimbals and to me they're more trouble than they're worth. Your input would be appreciated.

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  5 років тому

      YES! Absolutely. I have filmed hundred of videos using a tripod only and no gimbal. You can also combine some handheld shots and get really nice footage without a gimbal. Don't get me wrong, I do love gimbals, but when they fit the project.

      @@chadwin It looks like you're filming through vaseline. That bright background light isn't helping either. Ever try those vintage Edison bulbs? Great set pieces. Also, you're too young to have used so many tripods!
