Olipa hyvin tehty video. Erittäin hyvin perehdytty ominaisuuksiin ja selkeästi esitetty. Ehdottomasti jatkoon. Erityiskiitokset esittelijälle. Vakuuttavaa tuotetietoisuutta ja kokemusta harrastuksesta.😀
Very informative and helpful. Good review. But why are the ratings of ASA totally different depending on the reviewer? I heard a rumor that ASA had a problem and was refurbished. Is it possible that there is a difference in evaluation between the vehicles before and after the refurbishment?
Thanks for the feedback. It's important to recognize the ASA for what it is. A manual transmission with an automated clutch, with the possibility for automated shifting. It's not an automatic transmission. If you expect it to act like a torque converter automatic transmission in a car, it won't. However, if you ride it as you'd ride a bike with a normal clutch, only without having to worry about operating the clutch, it's awesome. In day to day riding and commuting, especially on the Eco, Rain and Road modes, the automated shifting also works very well. For more spirited driving or offroad, the manual shifting feels more fun and natural. It's best to go to your local dealer, take a test ride and see for yourself. What we found, is that after a test ride the majority of the customers who've ordered a new bike, have opted for the ASA. Even if they were a bit sceptical before actually having a go. We haven't received any information, nor do the BMW systems show any info on upgrades to the ASA. This bike was also an early build from August production and is great. Of course as with any BMW, the software is updated regularly. But these are updated automatically at every service appointment.
I think the automatic translation for the subtitles has made a wonky translation. The shifting works very well. The automated Drive mode is best for normal driving in regular traffic. In more spirited and offroa riding, the manual mode gives more familiar control for the rider.
Exactly the same way, as it would with a manual clutch. The hill was very steep, with basically zero traction on a road oriented tire. To manage the little traction there is, spinning the rear wheel has to be controlled by the combination of throttle and clutch and ASA actually manages this very well. However, in this situation, when your are working with very little throttle and slipping the clutch, coming off the throttle can stall the bike. In this hill with the road tire, giving it more throttle just ends up spinning the rear and the bike backing down the hill. Overall, it's a very special situation which 99,999% of the bikes will never end up in. It would've been a challgengin situation with a normal clutch also. Also normally you wouldn't end up in this situation, without making some kind of a mistake or misjudgement while riding. If for some reason you'd have to stop in this sort of a situation, it'd be best to back down and make another attempt with steady speed and momentum. :)
@@BiketeamOy As you wrote: "However, in this situation, when your are working with very little throttle and slipping the clutch, coming off the throttle can stall the bike." - I understand that phenomen, it is valid for normal manual clutches. But how about what BMW-support wrote: " Below the minimum speed, the system downshifts automatically (even in manual shift mode "M") or the clutch is opened automatically in 1st gear. This prevents the engine from "stalling". " Why your bike stalls and ASA not preventing the engine from stalling by disengaging the clutch?
This was a very special situation with no forward moving speed, no traction, very little throttle and still the need to precisely slip the clutch. Basically something that should never occur in the real world can overpower the system. Of course even this is something that with experience could be fine tuned in future updates.
Kittos for a great video. Did you mention the price of the bike in Finland? From what I've seen so far, the bike seems to be about 10,000e more than many other European countries.
You're right. Unfortunately In Finland all new (and imported used) motorcycles and cars have a luxury tax in addition to the VAT. For motorcycles it's based on the size of the engine and for all bikes over 755 cc, the tax rate is 24,4 %. For cars, the tax rate is based on the CO2 emissions varying from 0 % for electric cars to 48,9 % for CO2 rating of 360 g/km or more.
I've just immigrated to Finland, from Kanada and car and bike prices really shocked me. Love been here and am looking forward to getting an adventure bike for next spring. Kittos good sir.
Welcome to visit our Biketeam stores in Vantaa, Tampere or Raisio. We can certainly help with an adventure bike, wether it's a new BMW, Triumph or Kawasaki, a bike from our stock of pre-owned bikes, rentals or anything related to motorcycling. :)

You're talking about the accumulation caused by the very short delay in shifting gears of the BMW ASA.

Hieno video. Yrityksellämme on BMW-moottoripyöriin sopiva kannake. Toivottavasti saamme tehdä yhteistyötä kanssasi. Kuinka voin ottaa sinuun yhteyttä?
I can't understand, why engine stalls when you tried to climb that hill on video at 44:20? Even after you disabled the traction control?
